We happened upon this awesome place during a widespread power outage, we drove by and noticed this place was actually open. While all of the other businesses were shuttered, this place was offering up beer on tap and wood fired pizza! What more could you possibly need? We ordered a Hawaiian pizza and a growler to go, both were equally delicious. The pizza was the perfect size for two people to share. We also picked up a bottle of their cranberry wine, which we haven’t had a chance to try yet. We’ll definitely hit this place up every time we’re near Westport. Don’t pass this place by, give it a shot, you won’t regret it!.

The two other breweries in Westport were closed, so we dropped in at Bog Water to check out their beer selection. We started with a flight of their four beers — the best was the rye IPA, so I had a pint. My wife prefers wine, so she tried the cranberry wines and liked both. Though unexpected for a relatively small-scale wine/beer place, they have decent array of wood-fired pizzas. So we ordered the«combination» which was rather fantastic. The tasting room is small, but not uncomfortable if you happen to be there before the summer influx of tourists.

I can’t rave about the beer, order their house blonde which didn’t have a ton of flavor, however the atmosphere was really cute. The tasting room is pretty small but it was a beautiful day and the patio was open. A fire pit was going which was nice since the wind is chilly on the coast and they have a bunch of large round tables outside. They offer wood fire pizza which I didn’t try but looked amazing. They had two of their own beers on tap, maybe five fairly commercial beers and two cranberry wines. They were setting up for a band so I’m assuming they have live music. Service was good.

Very small, not comfortable. The pizza is wood fired, but small(12″) and overpriced. They make a lovely cranberry wine. Last time in we waited… and waited… and waited for our order to be taken. Some guy walked in after us and was served immediately. He ordered three pizzas and was told the wait would be 30 minutes. We still had not gotten attention from the waitress. We got up and left at that point and have no intention of going back.

Stopped in recently while in town, had driven by several times before. I had heard they had food, and we were kind of hungry. Was a little let down to learn they only offered pizza. But the pizza was very good, so it worked out. I’m not a drinker, but my wife enjoyed the cranberry wine. The cinnamon was her favorite. A nice little place, would like to see the menu expand beyond just pizza. Might give us more of a reason to stop in again.

This really was one of the high spots for an otherwise less then stellar trip. The owners, Maria and her hubby, were fantastic. I feel guilty for not remembering the hubby’s name, but I only spoke to him a very little. They both made us feel very welcome and part of the family. I tried both of the beers that they had available and both were good. I ended up liking the RYEIPA a little more, but I am a fool about hops. The rye actually played a well behaved slightly whimsical role in the back behind the hops. It was a nice smooth beer, really easy to drink. I bought a growler; it was empty before we got to the airport.

Bog Water Brewery also houses Cranberry Street Winery if I got the name correct. Both the winery and the brewery are run by the same person. The winery only makes cranberry wine. They had two types available. One was a regular cranberry wine and the other was a cranberry cinnamon wine. The cranberry cinnamon was amazing! It was unique and memorable! My highest recommendation on that! The brewery brews a number of different beers but the one they still had on tap was a Rye IPA which was outstanding! They allso have guest taps as well. The place is super clean and they have a nice décor regardless if you are drinking outside or inside! The lady that was running the place was extremely nice and friendly! I can’t wait to get more of their beer and wine! It tastes SO good!

This is on its way to being a fantastic place. Currently a solid selection of beers on tap, and a few of their own cranberry based wines. We chatted with owner for about an hour in their beautiful tasting room. They have big plans to expand and offer a lot more in the months and years to come. We’ll be back, another great reason to go to Westport!
