Davids has become a staple in Westport, with a wide range of customers. In all seasons, basically at all times of day this store can be very crowded, and the tight space is one of the minor complaints that I have about the place. The service is so incredibly nice. They really want to make sure that you find a tea that you like, and they are very passionate about what they do. I came in one day looking for a good black tea, and they helped me find this amazing sugary black tea that I then bought 3 bags of because it was so good! I must have smelled ten teas before I found that one, and they were always super nice about getting me the right tea. Echoing another reviewer’s thoughts: They’ve been always super helpful about answering my questions about which teas have caffeine or not, and exactly how much caffeine is in the tea in relation to coffee. Recently, I had an experience where a tea I really, really liked was a seasonal tea and they only had enough for my last cup of tea, and then one bag left in the storeroom. The lady there looked on the website and then all of the Davids within the tristate area to see if they had this tea. Unfortunately they did not, so she advised me to send feedback to the company saying how much I enjoyed the tea so they were more likely to bring it back next season. She also checked the Boston stores, since I was going up there a few days after, and she gave me a slip for a free cup of tea at any one of their Boston locations. I was and still am incredibly appreciative for her kindness I’ve recommended Davids tea to everyone that I meet, and I regularly bring family and friends there. Even though the Starbucks down the street has Teavana, I always tell everyone to make the short trek up the road to Davids, as it is always worth your time.

Nicest people working you could ever meet. They know the tea product well give you many options. They are professional and when I went to leave a tip they would not take it! Wow they are there for the love of their job how nice is that, a refreshing work ethic.

Service was great with helping me make a selection. You are bound to find something you like with their variety. I chose a chai blend however Chai tea latte was so bland. Going to add some home brew tea tomorrow to add more flavor.

Great tea, great service, great place. Unbelievable variety of flavors and tea knowledge like a wine connoisseur. Plus, my iced tea was free because of the loyalty program!

When I first got into loose leaf tea, I did my shopping at a competitor(hint: they have now been bought out by Starbucks) and I hated it due to the extremely pushy staff and uncomfortable atmosphere. I was always getting pressured and hounded. I am such a huge fan of this company and this specific store. I come here a ton and I have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and attentive, even when they are busy. Today, one of them even bought my cup of tea for me! I cannot rave about the place enough. The prices are great IMO, and I don’t mind spending my money here because it’s clear this is not a greedy, money hungry business. Thank you Davids Tea of Westport! :)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it AGAIN. this place is AMAZING! I love coming here. The guy and girl working today were so nice and helpful! They answered all my questions about which teas are caffeine fee/sugar free/etc etc, gave recommendations and left me smell canister after canister of different teas.(there are like over 100). The only thing I love more that this company’s product is the wonderful customer service you receive. If you like tea I highly recommend you taking a trip to experience this shop, you wont regret it. We travel a long distance just to shop here and will continue to do so. If you bring back your canister you get a discount when you refill them! I had to stock up on my two favorite teas of the moment Forever Nuts & Blue Lagoon. I also wanted to branch out and try some new ones, so I bought a bunch of small bags today that I am super excited to try, like Organic Crème brûlée & Organic super ginger to name a few. My favorite new spring tea IS the Blue Lagoon(pineapple, blueberries lemon grass) It also makes an awesome iced tea! I take it in a water bottle with me every morning when I leave the house! Yum! I also tried a cup of the glitter and gold(hot) while I was in the store. so good! It has lemon peel, cloves, vanilla and gold sugar crystals that give it it’s color.

This is a pretty stunning tea shop, boasting both a wide array of very high quality teas to drink and purchase as well as a sick collection of beautiful tea sets, kits, chocolates and various tea-making paraphernalia. I wanted to check this place out after enjoying a David’sTea in downtown Boston and this shop was definitely a huge step up from that one. The interior of David’sTea is a little mod and standoffish, but don’t let that scare you away. The product here is of a very good quality. For instance, they have two kinds of Gyokuro alone(my favorite green tea) and I was actually really happy with this smooth Assam I purchased from among the dozens available. You can also get really small bags of tea here, which is nice because a lot of places try to shove a ton of expensive tea down your throat when you just want to try a bit. However, as some have mentioned the tea here is served super, super, super Hot. I chalk this up to the fact that they are more about selling loose tea than actual cups. but the lady at the counter said that they can serve the tea both hot and iced, so if this really is a problem I guess you could always just order it cold. Oh yeah, they sell these Awesome disposable tea bags that you can fill with any loose tea and drop into water. You get 100 for about 9 bucks and they are really amazing and really convenient. The fact you can buy these here alone contributed a star to my review. Back in NYC this would be a four star shop, but for CT this is a pretty clutch tea spot. Definitely better than any Teavana I have ever been to.

The ambience is stark, cold and uninviting. Isn’t tea supposed to be warm and cozy? Yeah, I do find myself going here to get iced tea every so often but really find the vibe within it reprehensive and feel gross every time I leave.

I was really hopeful when this place opened but I’ve been twice now and both times I’ve been very disappointed. We brew a lot of loose teas in my home so I was excited to have a local, independent place to re-stock and try new things. The first time I went things started on the right foot. The staff was friendly and the décor was nice. It felt like an Apple Store tea shop. I browsed for a while, ordered a cup of green tea, and went on my way. The first sip was a disappointment, the water was scalding which, as any tea person should know, is completely wrong for green tea. Not the end of the world, but certainly a rookie mistake. The second trip was on a busy Saturday. I went in to restock one of my favorite teas. They did not have the exact tea I was looking for but after I described it to the staff they suggested a substitute. It smelt right and the ingredients looked right so I purchased a few ounces. When I actually brewed the tea I was very disappointed. It lacked flavor and had a definite cardboard-type taste. My general impression is that the tea was just old and/or hadn’t been stored correctly. My mother-in-law also purchased tea that trip and had a similar impression. She ordered some kind of Earl Grey and said that it tasted a bit like tobacco. I was really hopeful but I think I’m going back to my old sources.

The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. The décor is very pleasing. I’m enjoying learning about the different teas and trying them out. I’ve been a coffee drinker for years and never liked the aftertaste in supermarket teas. This shop will turn me into a tea drinker.
