If there’s one thing Westport lacks its a variety of bakeries for those unwilling to travel long distances for baked goods, Perry’s Bakery is the go to spot. Perhaps one of my favorite items of theirs is the cinnamon rolls, soft and gooey you can spell the, before you even enter the place. Its also a great place for pies as well as an assortment of lunch items like chourico rolls and ham an cheese croissants. Only down side to the bakery is the items tend to sell out rather quickly during the morning hours.

Having tried a number of bakeries across the South Coast, what this one does best is pies. When a friend tipped us off to this secret, we phoned ahead an order of strawberry-rhubarb for pick up the next afternoon. What made the pie perfect was the crust: just as it should be. There were no leftovers after we served it for dinner.

This place has been in business for well over 30 years. You’ll see locals snagging a breakfast sandwich or out of towners coming in for any of the turnovers, scones, muffins, pies, tarts, you name it. They are rightly best known for their cinnamon sticks but they go fast, like gone by 8:30 in the middle of winter fast. Opens at 5:30 so get there early.

Been here a few times… Service is always friendly but the baked goods are lacking. While the blueberries are yummy in the muffins, the muffins themselves are supermarket quality and often taste like they’ve been baked the day before. Also, they’re too dense and sugary. Coffee is consistently tasteless. I’m going to try the other bakeries/cafes in town.
