Mikey’s Place

Located next to the DMV, Mikey’s Place makes for a great park for kids and maybe yourself to blow off some steam. You figure after waiting through the time and stress of those DMV workers it was smart that the town built this place!
Nice playscape. For different ages. See saws, swings and slides of all types. There’s only one Port-​A-​Potty. «Grandpa’s Boat» is a cool rocking thing for kids and the family to get on. They even have adult swings. The landscape here in the Fall is awesome.
Definitely worth coming here.

If you’re looking for playground to take your little ones regardless of age, this is the place to go. You can click on link to read the full story, but this playground was built over a decade ago to honor a little boy who passed away much too early in his life. His parents and the good people of Wethersfield helped erect this playground which is actually 2 large playgrounds catering to 2 different age groups. The park is located in historic /​picturesque Old Wethersfield on the near an elementary school with a playscape of its own. So you actually have 3 playscapes for your kids to play on! Area has a nice mix of trees as well to allow for shaded areas along with the sun. They did make a small parking lot, but fills up quickly. Luckily, there is plenty of street parking and area is quiet enough to not worry about kids and traffic.
The playground has been kept up very well over time and still very modern in its options. If you live in the area, your kids will be begging you to come back and play here. If you’re not local and just searching for a spot to keep the little ones busy on a nice day, you’ve found the spot.
Obviously, I highly recommend Mikey’s Place and the surrounding area if you’re looking for an active day with your children.
