Harmony Salon

First off, I’m reviewing Amanda. She’s fantastic. Listened to exactly what I wanted and helped me through it. I will say I have ZERO loyalty when it comes to people who cut my hair but I honestly may have found my go-​to. Her balyage and color expertise were exceptional and she explained everything she was doing and asked me lots of questions to make sure I walked out happy, and I definitely did!

Yay! So glad I found this place. I always have such a hard time finding a salon I am willing to commit to and its usually because I don’t leave with what I asked for, I feel the services were overpriced or I have to wait too long for an appointment. I have searched Unilocal high and low looking for a place with good reviews for coloring. I actually resorted to Instagram because I think its a great tool for stylists to use to market their work.
So I found Amanda’s account and loved the work she posted. I actually went to high school with her! Small world! — Anyway, I booked my appointment for a Saturday morning and showed up right on time. The place is SO pretty inside and it has recently been redone. Very chic and neutral and glamorous. The front desk receptionist was friendly and offered me coffee or water upon my arrival. Amanda popped up shortly to take me back. We discussed what I wanted to do and what my ultimate hair goal was and she gave me her opinion and feedback before getting to work!
For my first visit, she used a balayage technique to highlight my hair and lift the black (box) color then put a chocolatey brown toner on the pieces. It was exactly the color I had imagined, but it wasn’t as noticeable as I would have hoped. I appreciated that Amanda went easy and subtle for my first visit as she knew I was weary of change. I messaged her a few days later asking if I could schedule another appointment to add some more to what she had already done. I had an appointment a couple days later after work and in less than 2 hours I left totally obsessed with my hair.
I was given exactly what I asked for and she even cleaned up my trim a little just to even my ends out. Pricing was extremely reasonable and I didn’t feel uncomfortable asking Amanda questions about what she was doing or letting her know exactly what I wanted. I have gotten so many compliments on my color and even my dad has mentioned quite a few times how much he likes it! I highly recommend Harmony. Their pricing is fair and the girls really know what theyre doing. 5 stars from this girl!

Although I do not live local, family does. Whenever I am in town I make it a point to get my hair done here. The salon is young and hip and the staff is excellent. Fully satisfied with each stylist I have had. I had my hair done and my boyfriends hair cut as well and he can even be even harder to please then me. I can’t wait to go back and get wild colored extensions that I saw another customer getting that looked awesome. Definitely recommendable to all.

This was a disappointing salon experience. My stylist was young and chatty (a little overly so). My highlights were left on for a long time and my hair was very brittle for several months after my visit. My hair is chin length, nothing fancy, and my highlights and trim (honestly, only the slightest of baby trims on the ends) cost $ 150. I almost fell over when I heard this. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry! So I did both when I got to the car. I’ve been to many salons over the years and never paid more than $ 100 (before tip) for highlights and a cut, and I mean a real cut, not just a little split-​end trim. This visit did teach me a valuable lesson, though, because going forward I will be clear with my stylist about my budget before she begins to work.

Everyone here is super nice and polite. It’s a young and mature staff, full of energy. No diva attitudes that I saw.
I got my hair cut with one of the stylists that will remain nameless. She was excellent. She spent a good time discussing with me what I wanted done with my hair and gave me further suggestions. The only thing I have to say that was a little disappointing is that she does a sloppy blow-​out. She didn’t use a brush to blow dry my hair, she just used her fingers. When I go to a salon to get my hair professionally done, I want a great blow out. It was like she was blow drying it just to get it dry. For me, that is my favorite part because when you find someone that really takes their time, it is very relaxing. She seemed overwhelmed and like she was rushing the whole time.
I hate to say anything negative, because I love the end result and she was super friendly and very professional… but when I go to a hair salon, I want to feel pampered and relaxed. I wasn’t the slightest relaxed whatsoever. So I might go back to her if I just care about the functional aspects, not the girlie fun stuff.

Had a great experience recently at Harmony. Saw Krista Jee. She did an awesome job on my hair and actually listened to what I wanted, which is unusual! Hair came out great, already made my next appointment. I should also add how friendly and down to earth everyone was that I spoke to, everyone said hi and made me feel quite welcome. Prices were very reasonable. She did not push products at all, and only advised me when I asked her for some recommendations. I will definitely be back soon. Thanks, Krista!
