This is the best fitness class I’ve ever taken. You see results almost immediately, it’s great for people with joint problems, and has an amazing community of devotees. It’s the only class that I want to keep taking over and over again. I Love the Wexford instructors, too!

I have been a diehard exercise addict since graduating college and wanting to lose my college weight. At one point, I was spinning 5 days week, taking a body pump class twice a week and water aerobics after that. Then I started to incorporate Zumba three times a week and spin less because I enjoyed the dancing more! However, I dropped some pounds, I did not see the changes in my body and upper strength that I have gotten in my(almost) 2 years of pure barre. I tell everyone I know about pure barre. I love the teachers, the classes and I’ve met some incredible women by going 5 – 6 days a week. This is the only workout I primarily do right now and I love it!

Great alternative work-out to standard fitness classes. 60 minutes is perfect length for this type of class. I never leave feeling like I didn’t get a good challenge. To get the most out of class you really need to pay attention to form and focus on the muscle you are training — this can be a challenge at first as you are learning technique. Although a bit pricy is worth the cost… Have noticed an improvement in muscle tone after about 1 month(10 – 12 classes).

If you never tried Pure Barre, but have been thinking about it, I highly suggest you give it a try today. You won’t regret it. Your first class is free. Just look up the schedule online and show up 15 minutes prior to start of the class. If you have a pair of sticky socks take them to your first class. No worries if you don’t, you can purchase a pair at the studio. You also need to wear Capri length or longer yoga pants or tights. The class lasts about an hour. It’s fast paced with no breaks in between strengthening/stretching movements. Areas worked are thighs, seat, abs, and arms. I started to see results after 8 classes. It’s okay if you don’t feel acclimated to what’s going on in class right of way. Classes are challenging and are never the same twice. The teachers/instructors are professional and very helpful. Different packages and specials are offered and classes are scheduled 7 days a week, even on major holidays!

As I type this, the muscles in my arms and legs are still trembling! I had been wanting to try PB for a couple of months now and was not expecting such an intense workout! Don’t be fooled — this is hard! I have been biking most of the summer and had previously practiced yoga and neither could prepare me for the workout my muscles were going to get at PB! The Wexford studio is spacious and very chic. The lobby area has an open floor plan and allows for free movement of students coming in and out of class. There is a variety of workout clothing and PB apparel and bottled water for purchase. The instructors give new students a quick tour of the facilities and PB provides all of the equipment you’ll need for class(ball, mat, weights, and tension tubes). The class is 60 minutes of focused muscle sculpting that will get you toned and strong in no time! Motivational music(read: pop/dance) is pumped into the room as the instructor takes you through the movements. I found myself having to take a few breaks… which never happened in yoga! I seriously had a hard time walking out of there tonight but feel great! I know I’ll be sore tomorrow but will be returning to PB as soon as I can!
