Initially I discovered this place solely because of the convenient location. Over time I’ve come to really enjoy and appreciate Macy’s. It’s larger than it appears from the outside and they have a great selection of wine, beer, Scotch and whiskey. It’s a family run business and staff is super friendly and helpful. It’s my go-to spot when I need a recommendation for a great gift wine or champagne too, they know their stuff.

Awesome family owned business. Very professional and really helpful. I’ve gone here for almost 4 years now. They have everything you need. And care way more about their customers than most places do. I highly recommend checking the store out. Raj is really knowledgable about what they carry and will order it for you if they don’t have it in stock.

Don’t even waste your time going here: Staff are terribly rude and have no idea what they’re talking about. They never say hello when you’re checking out – just continue talking amongst themselves(always the same woman/women). Avoid this place. Better to go to Luke’s Liquors in Rockland, where the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful – AND they have good selection and prices!

This store does have a good selection of beer, wine and spirits. The store is in dire need of a makeover and I agree with a prior review that it has never been cleaned. The staff is not helpful at all. When asked if they carry a certain brand of beer the answer is if you don’t see it then we don’t have it. They are un-wiling to help at all. I’ve gone there since they are close to my home but I do try to avoid them if time permits. The dirty condition of the store and the lack of any customer service makes this a place to avoid.

This is a very poorly run business. The store is dingy and looks like it has never been cleaned. Staff are rude and unhelpful and have absolutely zero wine knowledge. I’ve been in here a few times(only out of pure convenience) and the staff have been consistently rude; that combined with the poor condition of the store itself makes it an unpleasant experience as a customer.

Haters gonna hate… Love a low key store that stocks quality wine at low prices…

I have been going here for close to a year. I buy $ 300.00 to $ 500.00 of wine a month with just two visits. I have never been offered assistance, a discount or even an offer to help take the couple of cases to my car. The women working at the register are rude, ignorant about the wine and seldom say thank you. Prices there are good, but I would rather pay more and get some respect for being a good customer. I was just there again spent $ 300. And as I was pushing my cart out through the snow and letting the cases into my car without any offer for help, I was swearing to myself that I will not return.

Terrible service. Had some old hag almost berate my daughter for a mess in their ice box that she didn’t create(maybe the lady should have gotten out from behind the register to clean it up). Will never go back, even to return bottles and cans.

My local go to Liquor Store. Pretty decent selection of wine and Liquors, they stock more than just the obvious basics. Have a pretty open selection of Micro-brews. Pricing is fair. I have found cheaper places, but not in the area, therefore it wouldnt be worth the drive out of my way to save the extra dollar or so. Definitely would reccommend if you live in the area.

If I had written this review a couple of years ago, I probably would have given this place 4 stars. Back then there were people working here, including a man named Elliot who I think was the owner, who roamed the aisles and offered you help and consultation on anything you were interested in purchasing and especially with regard to the wines. Elliot never seemed to remember who I was, so the second he spied me(or anyone else) walking through the door, he’d go through his whole spiel and say: «Just let me know if you need any help. Let me know if you have any questions about the wine. Remember if you buy a case of any wine, you get 15% off… etc. etc.» Although I knew that recitation by heart and it got old hearing the same thing time and time again, at least everyone knew he was visible and was offering his service. Macy’s was sold awhile back and with the exception of one of the women at the cash registers, it’s a new crew. And new in this case has not been so good. If all you want is beer and you know exactly what you want and don’t have any beer-related questions, you’ll probably do okay. But getting any assistance, other than someone willing to take your money at the registers, appears to be non-existent. Forget it if you have a question about any of the wines or about any of the liquors. I asked a wine question once when I stumbled upon someone stocking shelves and he simply said: «I have no idea». And that was that!
The wine selection itself has gone downhill despite the sheer number of bottles they carry. The hard liquor selection also seems in disarray. Sometimes they haven’t known what it is that I’m asking for. I didn’t think my tastes were that esoteric, quite frankly. The store is dingy and I’ve found bottles of things that are dusty. They seem to want to cater only to beer drinkers and those coming in for a two dollar nip or a pint of no-name blackberry brandy from the counter. For me, this place has become nothing more than a very occasional stop and even then I’m not sure it’s worth it. The young woman who was at the register the other night when my husband and I were there was rude. Elliot: even though you could be overbearing, oh how I miss you and your wine knowledge, your cleaner, better-stocked and organized store and the rest of the staff who knew what was what. This is an example of: you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone.
