Three weeks ago my son had an appointment for pre-surgery with Dr. K, on our way out I told the discharge folks that our insurance had changed to BMC Health Plan. «No problem» the girl at the desk said. Today at the pre-op phone call they tell me they only take the silver plan, I have the gold. I tried to switch plans to no avail. Called BMC and they gave me the name of a surgeon who could take my plan. I left work, went and signed a release and told them that the paperwork had to be faxed to the new Dr.‘s office asap since he’d like to see my son tomorrow. The *&^&* ** in the medical record office said she’d fax it right over, but waited until the other office was closed to do so. Now my son can’t see the doctor tomorrow, and will likely have to wait for a week or more with a broken wrist to get his surgery. The lack of compassion and unprofessionalism makes me glad that we aren’t going to use SSO. They truly have no idea what customer service is.

This place is a well oiled machine. They are in a new state of the art location on 2 Pond Park Road in Hingham. I brought my son here for an injured elbow and cringed when we walked into the jam packed waiting room. Well waiting was not an issue at all. This group uses technology to its full advantage and does it efficiently. A photo ID is taken at the check in window with a device that the registration person simply holds up at the window. One second, and done. After sitting for about 2 minutes, staff came out equippped with Ipads, called my son’s name and brought us back to radiology. Well whatever they tapped into the Ipad was already on the screen at radiology. My son had his xrays taken immediately and we went back to the waiting room. A few minutes later, we were called into the office to see Dr. Geary. His xray images were already on the screen. Dr. Geary came in and assessed my son and were were off about 5 minutes later, luckily with a mild sprain. Fast forward one week. My son came home from school early being told that could not participate in soccer practice/games until the school trainer received a specific doctor’s note. My son tells me this at 4:45pm. I called the office and about 10 minutes later, I handed my son the faxed doctor’s note that he would need the next day at practice. Overall, very friendly efficient staff who used technology to it’s full advantage in an efficient way. And even though we moved through the facility quickly, we never felt rushed. Staff were helpful and Dr. Geary was professional.

This place is fabulous. I’ve never been to a doctors office that is so professionally organized. They have their service down. If you have an appointment at 10:30 am for example, you are sitting in the docs office with the dr. at 10:30 on the dot. Very nice! Their communication is A+ as well. After my appointment, I needed to get an MRI and CatScan. they were so helpful, checked my insurance for me to find the best place that would accept my insurance, with all costs said up front. I’ve never experienced this before. Knowledgable doctors and swift service!

South Shore Orthopedics is amazing. I am being seen there by Dr. Seidman for my right hand/wrist. He is a great hand specialist. He makes you feel hurt and important even though he is so busy. The staff there are all very kind and patient. It is also a modern, clean and comfortable office with all of the new technology that makes appointments go smoothly and quickly. They are very good with returning phone calls and not putting you on hold with crappy elevator music for long periods of time.
