Too bad. We live in Wheat Ridge and are always so excited to support our community. First off, the service was wonderful. Our waitress was sweet and did a great job explaining all the dishes. The problem? The three things we ordered were so underwhelming. We ordered the Inca platter which is an appetizer that consists of smaller tastes of four of their most popular entrees. Each of these tastes was downright bland or unappetizing. My husband and I didn’t really finish any of it. The cebiche was fine. I’ve had amazing cebiche in Mexico and in South America and at South American restaurants in the states and the Cebiche Mixto was totally forgettable. There was no depth of flavor to it at all. We also ordered their pasta with a «peruvian pesto» and grilled steak. The«pesto» had almost no flavor and the steak came out gray and unappetizing. The wine I ordered tasted like the bottle had been opened for several days, and they were out of pisco. The delicious part? Our bread came with an amazing jalapeño crema that I started slathering on all the other dishes that had basically no flavor. I was excited by all the other Unilocal reviews of this place, but was so disappointed when we tried it out. The menu looked to delicious but the reality was far from the expectation.

We had a great first experience at Cebiche. We went in for an early dinner a couple of weeks ago and decided to try a spread of apps to get a good sampling of what they offered. We tried Cebiche Pescado, the Inca Sampler, and the Papa Rellena. We loved everything they brought out, it was all very fresh. The Sampler is a great way to go if you’ve never been, as it gives you a taste of 4 of their dinner entrees. I was bummed that they were out of Pisco, but ordered a Sangria instead. They have deals on glasses and pitchers of Sangria all day Sunday. The Sangria was really good! Later in our meal, the bartender came out and made sure we were liking our drinks, and said he had a little pisco left(not quite enough for a whole drink) and would make us a Sour with what was left, on the house. Man oh man, it was sooo good. Our waitress also made the experience very pleasant. She gave us some tips and tricks that made the meal really excellent! For example, she brought out a special sauce for the Papas that she thought we might like(we did!). Pros/Reason for Rating: — Very Tasty food — Great and attentive service from the staff — Ambiance(great for a date night or a small group) — Killer Pisco Sour Cons: — They were out of Pisco and empanadas, which was a bummer. Part of me thinks the lack of Pisco should be a «pro,» because it kept me from drinking 10 of them. In any case, I think Pisco should never run dry at a Peruvian place. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely go back! Great spot, especially for Wheat Ridge!

Total neighborhod gem. a bit of highlands off the beaten path. On a street loaded with cheap mexican food joints(some good, some not) this place stands out not just because it is Peruvian, but because of the food quality and assortment. I had the Cebiche de Piscado(white fish cebiche) and it was bright, spicy, and flavorful. There is a notable difference between this dish and a mexican ceviche in flavors, textures and ingrediants. Peruvians love potatoes! I also had the Chupe de Camarones. Savory, rich, and decadant. A meal unto itself. I could not finish it, only because it was a good serving(we were told in Peru the serving would have been twice as big) but it also had both potatoes and rice. Enourmous flavor, a MUST have. If you are in the mood, the house drink is a Pisco sour. Ask about it, it would better for them to describe! Unique and deliscious.

My husband and I went here for a date night a few months back. It is in an old house so the layout is unique and can be a bit cramped. However, the staff was wonderful. They made great recommendations for both food and drinks. Our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time and I felt taken care of but not bothered(like some places where they seem to be by your table every 5 minutes just to check on things). My husband had the ceviche which was very good. I can’t remember the name of my dish but it was great as well. It had a cilantro sauce which I must preface by saying — I don’t normally like cilantro, but this dish sounded so good I decided to try it anyway. I must say I was highly impressed and my opinion of cilantro has been forever changed.

Appetizers: papa rellena not traditional not even close to taste like a Peruvian one, you can tell by the condiments. Empanadas: dry, almost burned at the bottom, again condiments not right. Entries: arroz con mariscos: green? Where have you seem them green? Rice not cooked barely any mariscos looked more like a arroz con pollo with the rice not done. Ceviche: had good taste but barely any fish, sweet potato not completely done. Tallarines verdes: tasted good just a little salt was needed. Overall food is not good. My only star goes to the place, it’s nice and clean. I hope it could improve its a shame we don’t have a real good restaurant that Peruvians could be proud about of and brag to others about one of the best food in the world.

Cebiche has added a Thursday trivia night. I’m not a fan of the format(die-hard Geeks Who Drink girl), but the QM was friendly and the crowd provided some friendly competition. Having fleshed out the menu, Cebiche offers some excellent appetizers now and a great Happy Hour.

One word — Bzzzzzzzzzzt!(I know, not a word) Finally decided to try this place up on 38th almost to Wadsworth. Let me put it this way, the sh**tiness of the location was only surpassed by the sh**tiness of the food. True. The people were very nice and trying really hard to do a good job. It was a Saturday night at 7:00P and very few tables. Without exception, every table was more than a little underwhelmed. Food was SO mediocre it defies description. I am quite familiar with good Peruvian fare and Cebiche. This place tries… sorta. To me it was pretty obvious they are scratching for the last penny possible to save on food cost and I can’t really blame them as I am pretty sure they will out of business in short order. The Mixto Cebiche(shrimp, squid, and scallops) amounted to a few pieces of precooked TINY bay scallops, a few shrimp, and a handful of TINY rubberized squid rings… with your standard lime/citrus marinade(that DID have the right flavor components zero flavor. All you felt was the overwhelming heat from raw Jalapeño that permeated the entire experience. I love hot food, but this was silly… and tasteless… really. My «classic Peruvian dish» of seafood and fish was a massively overcooked sliver of Tilapia and the very same sad little scallops, squid, and shrimp components as the use in their attempt a Cebiche mixto swimming in an oil covered tomato-base + seasoning to make a reddish VERY runny base… and a plop pf rice. Really embarrassingly bad. My g/f ordered the«sirloin» sauteed with potatoes and vegetables… beyond weak. Bad cut of meat, overcooked and gray plopped in a mix of frozen french fries and chunks of onion. I am not going to even spend more time describing this thing… ugh. So — After this $ 80 «dinner»…we left. As we walked out I could literally hear two tables we passed commenting about how bad it was. Like I said when I left…“Good Luck”.

after going to the original cebiche for fresh ceviche, i wrote a review telling of my disappointment. the owner invited me to try the new location. my wife and i went up and tried several items, and i have to say, i was disappointed again. while this location is certain better than the highlands location, it is so subpar it’s frustrating*. * the cocktails were amazing given the restaurant name, you’d think there would be several ceviches. there are a few, but when the best fish you use in ceviche is TALAPIA, it’s an abomination. an african/asian fish in peruvian ceviche. i wanted to like this place. it’s got a cubacuba feel to it, but for christ’s sake, offer some better quality fish in your ceviche, people will pay more for quality. aji de gallena was almost exactly the same as highlands, and the lomo saltado was ok, nothing more. looks like we’ll stick to tamayo, zengo and tag for ceviche for now. wish so bad denver would open a good ceviche restaurant.

The good, great service. The bad, everything else. Food was just not good. The Empanada were very dry, the potato/beef appetizer things were ALL potato and the main just was just poor. Don’t waste time and money(also over priced)

I should preface this by saying that I have never been to the old location but had always wanted to. I ended up going to the grand opening night at the new location and I have to say its pretty cool. I’ll start with the location. It’s essentially inside of an old renovated home, which is kind of cool. They also have a decent outside patio, although I didn’t like how the street was busy out front. It took away from the ambiance. Also cool was that there was a Peruvian pan flute band playing on the patio to keep us entertained. Definitely a unique experience and a pleasant one. The food was really good. I had the empanadas as an appetizer and the pesto pasta with sirloin on top. Excellent!!! I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back.

Went here for Mother’s Day and the service was abysmal. It took us 10 minutes to be sat, 75 minutes to get a our meal, and a separate 20 minutes to get coffee for my mom. My mom was hangry by the time the meals came. Our requests to 3 different servers/hostesses for cream for her coffee were voiced 7 times total before receiving the cream. The coffee was cold and when we asked for a new cup, it took another 20 minutes because they had to make a new pot. The hostess also had the wrong time written(1pm) for my brunch reservations I made through opentable for 11:45 am. I even showed her my email confirmation and she was clearly flustered. So we waited while another table was sat before us, and waited and waited for our food. The only saving grace was the actual food, which was a solid example of Peruvian flavors. The special of the day was a Spicy shrimp dish with rice. The food was well spiced and flavorful, but a little cold by the time they got there. The servers kept apologizing and blaming a large party in another room for tying up the kitchen, but I’m pretty that the food would have been slow despite any large parties. I would only consider going back if they hired a whole new floor service team. Too bad– this had the seeds to become a great place. I’m just sorry I had to disappoint my mother on her special day.

We very much enjoyed this restaurant. It was just what you would expect from a S American simple, casual restaurant. The food was very fresh and cooked to order. It was all delicious and we had drinks, appetizers, main course, and dessert. Stefano our waiter was excellent. Friendly and attentive. We very much enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back.

I’m no expert in Peruvian food, so take this review with a grain of salt. We’ve been to Cebiche twice in the last few months, both at «off» times(early dinner usually, around 5ish). They’ve never been busy, but the service has always been good. I’ve ordered the Inca Platter sampler, with a bunch of their top-selling items. They are all quite delicious, and I’d be hard-pressed to pick just one to order again. Pisco Sours are yummy, and the aji verde for dipping bread(or anything else) in, is quite tasty. They won’t tell you what’s in it(which I understand but find obnoxious), but she would tell us it was a «jalapeño cream sauce.“Theoretically one could replicate this at home, which is no doubt what they’re trying to prevent, but I don’t see myself doing that anytime soon. We’ve ordered the cebiche mixto both times, which is tasty, spicy, and fresh. It’s very light and will be great for the warmer months. However, some areas for improvement are consistency of food quality/temp, and upgrading their bread. When just my hubs and I went, our food was hot and fresh. When we went with a party of 5, some of us were served hot food, and one was served lukewarm. So the majority of us had a good experience, while one of us did not. Also, the bread is just airy white bread, which is served with the ajo verde. No taste, substance, or nutritional value. The sauce would be much better with a better quality bread.

Pisco Sours were great! So glad to have a Peruvian Restaurant on the West Side again. There use to be a great one on West Colfax near the old Westland. Anyway, the Aji Gallina(sp) was tasty but could have been spicier for my taste. The shrimp and seafood special was excellent with a great sauce and very fresh seafood. The service was great and I like the location. I think they will only get better. We will definitely be back. They have live music in the basement/lounge on the weekends.

We first tried this restaurant on Valentine’s day. They had a Valentine’s Day special of: heart shaped empanadas, pasta dish, dessert and a bottle of wine for $ 40 a couple. Can you believe it? Next time on a Friday evening after working all week and a Costco run, we arrived there around 9:30 p.m. tired and hungry. They serve until 10:00 p.m. My husband had a fish dish and I had a basil pasta and substituted the steak for grilled portabella. Service is good, friendly, food is great. Next visit will be on March 10, when they are hosting a mystery dinner on the Will and Grace theme. How fun is that?

This review is for the small nightclub in the basement of the Cebiche Restaurant. The room is small and kinda cool but definitely needs some touches to make it better. For one, they need to install actual electrical service at the front of the room where the performers have set up so that there isn’t a potential law-suit extension cord for people to trip over. Next a sign at the stair case leading to the basement to indicate that it is in fact the entrance. And lastly and perhaps most importantly for people to actually want to come out to this tiny space are the prices of the drinks. It’s basically a cellar with a small bar thrown into the room. Although the prices aren’t out of line with some other music venues in town, the other music venues have spent money on their rooms to make it enjoyable to be in those spaces ie no cold draft pouring into the room everytime the door is opened, carpet or some other floor covering over the cold concrete floor, and the aforementioned thing with the electrical. Good music like I heard last night there deserves a decent space.

Visited Cebiche on Friday for lunch. What an exceptional place. The setting is comfortable and food is deliciously unique. I’ve never had Peruvian food, but I will surely visit this place again in the future. Thanks Sergio and staff!

Well, bummer. We thought we’d give Cebiche a few weeks to work out the kinks, and when we went back the only things that had changed were that they’d added a few things to the menu, the prices had gone up(to the tune of 2 – 3 bucks an entrée), and the portions seemed smaller. The service was a bit better, but the drinks were terrible(mojitos that tasted like watered down club soda — and the pisco sours have been flat and a little too much on the sour side). The food was still pretty tasty(I could eat the avocado palta rellena all day), but definitely not worth the $ 13-$ 15 per entrée price tag. One more gripe is that the lighting is a little too bright; we might not have noticed how badly the table cloth was stained if it had been a bit dimmer. I’m sure we’ll keep going back in hopes that it will eventually get better, but for now I’m sorry to say that my high hopes have been dashed.

We went to Cebiche, during the soft opening, with a party of 10 and had a really excellent meal. We knew going in that the menu would be limited and there would be possible hiccups in the service etc. but to tell you the truth, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing! We never ran out of drinks or bread and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. I thought the drink prices were very reasonable and they had a large assortment of beers to choose from. The mojito’s were delicious and the wine’s by the glass were priced well too. The Sangria is made fresh every couple of days so we will definitely be going back to enjoy some of that! For a limited menu there were still quite a few different options to choose from with the food. We had both of the appetizers. The presentation on the cebiche was right on and the avocado dish was fresh and light. Our choices for entrees ranged from the Lomo Saltado with steak and with shrimp, the tilapia, the creamy chicken and Peruvian Pesto dish. There are a few kinks to work out with each of the dishes but overall they were tasty and priced very reasonably. I thought the entrees got lost a bit on the big white plates since most are served with white rice. I can see all of them as perfect small plates, served in colorful oversized bowls. Something more similar to the cebiche presentation would be perfect. We also had the dessert, compliments of Cebiche since it was my birthday :) Whatever you do save room for dessert, it is amazing! It’s like a pumpkin fritter donut with an amazing cinnamon syrup all over the top. Perfect ending to the meal! I think Cebiche has excellent potential to be a staple restaurant in the neighborhood. I gave them three stars because I do think they have a little work to do, but they are sooooo close to four stars. The restaurant is quaint and cozy for being in such a large space, decorated nicely and the wood floor really is amazing. I look forward to going back after the grand opening and checking out the full menu!

The menu is a bit limited, but they(apparently) have plans to change that, according to the little caveat written at the bottom of the menu. The only problem I had with that is that they are apologizing for any mishaps that may occur. Not a good confidence builder. I ordered the Tallarines Verdes, and let me tell you, they were definitely VERDE. Being a stranger to Peruvian food, I had no idea that the noodles would be such an interesting green color. I was put off at first, but I eventually steeled myself to take a bite. My only complaint is that the noodles stuck together in a clump, so it was kind of difficult to get a bite without taking the whole plateful up at once. The saltiness of the sirloin complemented the almost-bland creaminess of the pesto, but all in all, it was pretty good. My boyfriend had the Adobo Arequipeño, which was AMAZING. Next time we go back, I am ordering that.
