Copper Fields Events Chateau

Well, where do I start? Did you see the pictures?
The down side: Well, see the pic of the outside sign, the one of the name lit up — not any more, only «Copper» and «events» was still working, making the outside look shabby and run down. The pic of the parking lot with nice painted lines and driveway? — nope. Couldn’t see any lines so people were parked where they pleased.
See the pic of the inside with the really pretty hanging icicle lights? Not any more… sure the lights are still up, but only about half of them work. Part of a strand here, another part there, etc. This makes the inside look tacky and subpar for the money paid to rent this place. The microphone on the podium wouldn’t stay working either. The door had been propped open and it was freezing inside.
On top of that, we were there today for a memorial, A MEMORIAL, for a friend who recently passed, and during the speech from the sister of the deceased, the bartender talked through the whole thing. And you know the worst part!!! She was talking to potential clients! I saw her hand them a menu and business card before they left and told them to make sure and call her to discuss things. RUDE and very DISRESPECTFUL!
And the owner — or who I took to be the owner — came walking around with her little pomeranian following behind her. I like dogs as much as the next person, but come on… not even your event and you can’t leave the dog in the back room? How do I know she could have left the dog in the back room? Cause when she opened the door to the back room next to the bar, there was another dog, a boxer, back in there. The pom wasn’t even clean, it had leaves all over it’s tail.
The up side: The food server was very kind, helpful, and respectful; she must not have worked directly for them. And the women’s bathroom was nice. The drinks were served in nice containers. But sorry, that’s about it.

A Friend invited me to come see his band play here. I thought it was odd to see a small live music type of festival here after looking up the venue on the internet and seeing that it was an event center that seemed to do a fair amount of wedding trade. I guess they do other stuff as well. The event I attended had two outdoor stages, in addition to the inside stage. Prime time seemed to end early on this particular event (I’m guessing someone was throwing a house party elsewhere, typical of the Denver area music scene — why support the other bands? Just take your fans to see the show and then to the after party…) but it was still a good time. The staff seemed somewhere between amused and annoyed by this event, but clearly they knew what they had signed up for. I’d like to come back and attend a ceremony or some other function to see how Copper Fields handles that type of thing.

Copper Fields Event Château has to be the most poorly ran establishment I have EVER had to deal with. The outside of the venue looks like an abandoned trailer park, minus the trailers. There is trash surrounding the building and spread across the entire property. Behind the building, there is a pile of «junk» that has been covered by a brightly colored blue tarp. The flowers in the flower pots are dead, there are shards of glass spread throughout the parking lot and a less than attractive red and white striped circus tent to the right of the venue.
The owner of Copper Fields is HORRIBLE. She sets up appointments for viewings and doesn’t bother showing up (or answering the door since I’m almost CERTAIN that she lives there). She kicks you out of the venue during the wedding rehearsal, which was scheduled to end at 7:00 pm. We got the boot at 6:55 when she literally turned the lights off and started shooing us out of the building. Once we were outside, she closed and locked the doors behind us and sped out of the parking lot. She trashed a picture frame that was left there during the rehearsal to be used at the wedding the following day.
The beer on tap was warm and flat, as if it had been sitting there for months. They ran out of a few types of beers and coke, of all things. They were not carding a single guest at the wedding, as a matter of fact, I know of a few underage people that were helping themselves to drinks at the bar. She shut the bar down, along with the reception 2 hours early due to a minor mishap (people drinking their own beverages that they got out of their cars). She didn’t have a SINGLE sign at either exits stating «no beverages beyond this point». If there had been a document showing the guests that they were not allowed to be outside with beverages, this would have never happened. Not stating this is actually illegal on her part.
She ended up calling the police. Four police officers showed up to the wedding, and one of them threatened to arrest the bride. As all of this was escalating, Cheryl stood back with a look of satisfaction.
I have NEVER been so disgusted in my entire life. How someone could try to operate a business by treating her customers like this completely blows my mind. If you are thinking about hosting an event here, I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere.

The absolute worst customer service I have ever received. Poor management of the wedding overall. The bar served warm beer and did not card underage patrons. The owner/​manager was rude and unprofessional to the guests and the wedding party. The rehearsal and wedding were cut short. I would avoid this venue at all costs. I have been to countless weddings and this by far was the most mismanaged and unprofessional. Trust me avoid at all costs!
