The best Aloo Gobi I have tasted anywhere! Good friendly service and great value!

This place was pretty good. I wanted to try something new, and I’m glad I did. Every time you go to the mall food court, it is always the same food everywhere… This place though is something different and for the price it’s excellent! It tasted fresh and the portion kept me full. It was quick, service was great and food was awesome. What else could be better? Try this place and give it a shot!

I work close by and stop here often to grab lunch. Everything is always fresh and sooooo good! Staff is always friendly. Great portions and I always finish the delish mango lasse before I even leave! Def a great place to grab lunch.

Returned and did not disappoint! This time around you get to choose two types of meat. I got the chicken curry and butter chicken(of course). Also a new side they have displayed was the lentils and I decided to try it out. It was excellent. The boss man was also so sweet. He gave us a quick background run on his food and how he picks and chooses his supplies carefully. Such a sweet and knowledgeable man. Me and my cousin learned a lot from just ordering from him. Definitely recommend it!!! Oh don’t forget the garlic naan bread! And he’s going to bring kabobs and other things. Can’t wait to try it :)

Favorite place in the mall. I always order the aloo gobi which they make to order. and of course the samosas. Prices are fair with large portions.

Still my favorite of the places in the Wheaton Mall food court. I sometimes eat at one of the other choices there, like Italian Delight or Mezeh — or even Popeyes, but I think I come back here more than any other single place. Others have remarked that the place usually has no line. Which is a shame in a sense, since people don’t know what they’re missing. Why anyone would go to McDonalds when there are such better alternatives in this food court is a puzzle to me. But it means I get fast service, but I hope it doesn’t mean that the place will close for lack of business.

Food is reasonably good. They will make off menu items if you ask. Well priced, no complaints yet.

Located inside Wheaton Mall food court; usually there is no line but don’t let that fool you. Reasonably priced, great portion and a good substitution to our favorite Indian restaurant in Germantown(see review: India Palace). Food: Garlic naan is huge(shareable for two) and tasty. Butter Chicken tasty but does not have a lot of chicken. Ask for extra. Saag paneer is sweeter than others that I had tasted… weird, but good. Chicken tikka is tasty but that yogurt thing that comes with it is very watery. You can get it substitute for another serving of vegetables; saag or chick peas. Regular lassi is meh Mango lassi is good Overall pretty decent for mall food!

Good Indian food here!!! After a tiring day of shopping with the misses we decided to get something to eat before hitting the road. Came here and ordered the chicken tikka and some Samosas. Was pretty good, masala came with some rice(very good) and a spinach dish looked like creamed spinach and that was excellent!!! Definitely worth it, I’d come again!

The competition for customers at Wheaton Mall is tough. It’s especially tough when the restaurants hand out bourbon and orange chicken samples with more zeal than the Jehovah’s Witness hand out magazines. That’s probably why Masala Mix gets no love. Or it may be the thought of mall Indian food already has you reaching for the extra soft charmin… In either case everybody else’s loss means no lines and more butter chicken for me! I got the chicken tikka masala combo platter. The spices weren’t exactly spot on, but it was still tasty nevertheless. I was especially impressed with the fact that Masala Mix actually uses an authentic tandoor oven. My favorite part was the actual chicken itself, which was tender and juicy. I was surprised to see that the chicken chunks actually had skewer holes in it. I was expecting the less time consuming and by far less flavorful shortcut of simply boiling the chicken in the sauce. Don’t get me wrong, this is not slap your momma good. The dal was kind of bland and the saag paneer was more like steakhouse creamed spinach. But dude it’s mall food at the end of the day and for less than seven dollars you’ll walk away full and satisfied, just in time to chat up the hotties in front of forever 21.

Anyone who likes this place lives on a different plant than I do! It took them 10 minutes to take samosas from the case in front of me, dump it in a container and hand it to me. The samosas had a weird shape — the first danger sign that I ignored. Then the casing was all spluttered like the person making them forgot to turn down the heat on the oil — something that I am willing to forego if the samosa still tastes good. However, one bite into the samosa and I was done. The casing was way too thick and grossly underdone, the filling was bland and weird tasting AND there were no peas :(The chutney that came with it was a mysterious shade of green that I did NOT like — one dip for taste and I knew I couldn’t eat no more. Totally shamed the samosa gods up in heaven. sigh!

this places seems to get worse every time I come here. it will be hard for them to stay open if they keep making everything taste the same and continue to charge these prices. either they are getting lazy, the cook is new or they simply don’t want to stay in business. samosa tasted like it was made last week. chicken tikka was bland and had a burned taste to it.

Really impressed with the place. Reeled me in with the free sample, and wound up getting the lamb curry, lentils and corn, and a side of garlic naan. The curry was flavorful and incredibly tender and the lentils were pretty tasty as well. But the naan was excellent, fresh made, light and delicious. Proportions were pretty generous as well. Some of the best mall food I’ve had.

Definitely the best Indian food you can get for the money. I generally get the Chicken Tikka Masala and I’ve never been disappointed. Staff is friendly and pack food securely for to-go orders(ie. no sauce leaking everywhere on your way home). A couple reasons I can’t give 5 stars. First is the limited choices of side dishes, and the fact that you can’t sub the side for an order of naan(naan is only included with the more expensive combo options, and can also be ordered separately). That said, if you don’t get a side they’ll usually give you a little extra of whatever main dish you ordered. Second, they still haven’t gotten the fountain drink machines running and drink options are currently limited to canned or bottled drinks.

We’ve both ordered takeout from here and eaten at the mall. I think the take out might be of better quality than what they have at the mall. However, both are decent but there’s not a whole lot of competition in the Indian food category in the Wheaton /K-Town neighborhood. Butter chicken is delish and a good intro to Indian food for our 3 year old! Mango lassi is yum and not too $$. Naan is delicious, esp garlic naan. We definitely will be ordering again the next time we get a craving for Indian.

The naan was delicious and the sauce for the butter chicken I had was decent, but unfortunately the actual chicken gave me horrible food poisoning. I’m not sure if it was cooked all the way actually. Since there is so much sauce, it was something I had to go looking for, but after first biting into it, I realized something was wrong and then cut into the rest of the chicken to confirm. I’m sure this was an isolated incident, but I had to share my experience since it ended so horribly.

My wife and were in Wheaton Mall to do some errands and wanted lunch. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was both tasty and hot. As we are vegetarians, we often don’t have a lot of choices, but there were 3 very good choices ready for serving and several others that they can make special. My wife got the Mattar Paneer and I got the Chana Masala dinner. Both were tasty. The basic dinner comes with rice and a second vegetarian choice, such as Dal. The price was also very reasonable. We have paid a lot more at a sit down Indian Restaurant which was not as good as this one. Considering both the price and quality, we believe this place deserves 5 stars.

They say you make bad food decisions when you’re hungry… They were right. I understand it’s mall food, so the expectation’s are tempered, but gimmie a better effort than this. The chicken tikka is bland, the choley is meh, and the rice seemed like it was made in someone’s trunk. The naan was the only saving grace, and even that was average. Overall, it seems as if this place was a mere attempt to fill a void with a half a**ed effort. Mezeh stomps this place out of the water in terms of food and value. Try it once if you must, but i’m certain you won’t be back.

Ok, definitely made for a mall crowd but a pleasing selection aside from the other greasy fried choices in the food court! The prices are very reasonable for what they offer. I had a shrimp entrée(with plenty of shrimp!) for about eight dollars. The butter chicken was very delicious as well! Nothing here is particularly spicy which may be a good or bad thing depending on who you’re talking to. However, if you’re vegetarian(ie: into real South Indian food) you’d be disappointed because their veggie sides are bland and boring!
