I came in here at lunch time on a Wednesday after reading good reviews. The staff was very polite and friendly, had many interesting things to say and kept the conversation going.
The haircut was a great value for the quality and I was in and out in 15 minutes.
Fiona did a great job.
Please be sure to check that the address on your GPS will put you in a different location. The true address is across from the bowling alley. This will be my go to spot for a haircut in the Chicago area

A no fuss, non-​fancy salon for your basic haircuts. Cash only and there is an ATM in the salon if you don’t have any. We were in and out in maybe 15 minutes and I’m very pleased with the result. There are large posters on the wall for different men, women and children’s haircuts and it was very helpful to pick one out.

This place is the most efficient salon I’ve ever been to. I hadn’t bothered getting a haircut for a few months and showed up with my homeless person mop along with a photo of what I wanted, and was out of there in under 10 minutes looking like a valued member of society again.
There was no probing about my personal life, or any of the contrived conversation that people in the service industry impose on the rest of us in some twisted effort to human bond their way into a higher tip. None… and it was a relief.
I didn’t even have time to sweat in the chair. :)
My only complaint was that I didn’t receive one of those paper collars around my neck to catch stray hairs from going down the smock, so my neck was itchy the rest of the day.

I love how this place is only 5 $ for most hair cuts, yet they do a better job than sports clips or hair cuttery and charge double. Quick and efficient will be back when the hairs are long again.

Been back three times.
All visits have been weekdays after work, never had to wait, very quick.
No unwanted upsell on services and such just a basic cut. No complaints from me especially for the price, tip generously.

Not bad for a $ 5 haircut place, very quick and didn’t have to wait long. Only gripe would be cash only but guess that would be expected.

Got my hair cut there today for the first time. The service was fast, and my haircut looked good. My hair stylist was friendly and helpful, although for part of the time, she was carrying on a personal conversation in another language with a coworker. Still for $ 5, I can’t complain. I would absolutely recommend this place.

This place is fantastic on all counts. The price, out of this world! The staff is great as well. It is cash only, but they recently added an ATM for those who don’t carry 10 dollars on them.
As for the one bad review, I’m not sure exactly what happened, but that has to be a needle in a haystack kind of thing.
The owners are very generous towards customers and the community. I tip very well here because they charge such a low price.
I highly recommend this place over great clips/​sport clips etc., because it’s cheaper and they do a better job IMO! (hard to mess up a guys haircut, though) Go VISIT THEM!

Another great haircut at Demiri’s! I would give it 5 stars except that I only get trims myself. My husband and sons get great haircuts there. They do good work and are very nice. I know that blow outs are $ 8.00 rather than $ 5, but I have thin hair and it dries usually by the time I’m out the door.
A couple things to remember:
1) These stylists are licensed.
2) This salon is family owned.
3) This salon does give back to the community with free haircuts before Christmas and other charitable work.
4) Any other salon that would tell you that Demiri has bad haircuts and is good for Their business is truly unprofessional. I would not go back to that business.
This business is great for what most people want, an inexpensive haircut. Like an old barber shop. I recommend them to everyone.

I wouldn’t give this place any stars if I could. They botched mine and my kid’s hair. BIG TIME! And I had a wedding to go to. They waxed my eyebrows and took half my total eyebrow off! I looked like a damned freak! And my hair is so uneven, it looks literally like I let a 3-​year old cut my hair. I only went here because it was on the way home, but NEVER AGAIN. My kid’s bangs looked horrible and she had pictures at school. I re-​did them myself, and they look better! Do these people even have licenses? Nice doesn’t save you from looking like a freak. And I didn’t like the sign ORDERING ME to TIP GENEROUSLY because the haircuts are $ 5.00. Remember, you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! For looking worse than before I walked in, I should’ve had to pay ZERO! And I DESPISE CASH ONLY businesses. I carry little to no cash. NEVER, EVER AGAIN!

$ 5 for a hair cut? PERFECT… if you complain about this place (previous review), you honestly are just looking for something wrong. This place is awesome! Very nice people!

$ 5 for a haircut. $ 8 extra to blow dry. They only take cash. There’s a sign on the wall with the cost of their services. The employees are very nice, this is a family owned business.
This is a no frills place. You won’t find them pushing any products here and you won’t find any great magazines to read.
I’ve taken my boys here for a haircut and while there’s no wait on weekdays, it’s packed on the weekends. Saturday mornings seems to be mostly men which is a quick job. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was primarily women (obviously not sports fans) who were asking for the world! It’s a $ 5 haircut ladies! I sat with my kids while one woman was complaining that they didn’t cut enough off and the other one was unsure what she wanted and couldn’t decide while the line was getting longer and longer. Get a grip!
My kids got a great haircut, but I have kind of complicated hair, so this place isn’t for me. My only beef with this place is that you can’t use a debit/​credit card here.
