Arrived at 540pm. We did receive water and tea right away, never offered any other drinks. Ordered an appetizer that came 50 minutes later, luke warm. Our dishes(from tea and soup and cold app) piled up and had two napkins between five of us. We watched while others seemed to be getting their food. At an hour and fifteen minutes, we decided to leave. We asked for our food to be put in to go boxes if it was actually being made, if not the bill for what actually came, the soup and cold app. They advised it was almost done, it was not. We should have cancelled it instead of still sitting there with very hungry children and a crying baby. Order to go if you want food from there but don’t eat there.

I wasn’t a fan. :(The noodles were mushy and did not have any flavor. Everything else I had was just kind of flavorless or bland. I was disappointed, I always heard really good things about this place.

I’ve only ever got the jajjangmyun and jahm-pong here, and this is definitely the best that you will find in the west suburbs. Fu Yuan also gives you a kimchi side dish before your food comes out and it is delicious. It isn’t your typical kimchi side dish but it is always a favorite at the table when I come with friends or family. At the end of the meal they also give you nurungj, which is a tasty snack, and is the first restaurant of its kind that I’ve seen do this. Overall, I really enjoy the jajjangmyun and jahm-pong here, and will be back.

This place is awesome for a quiet meal. I’ve gone here and gotten Moo Goo Gai Pan, Chicken Fried Rice, all types of soups, and even Szechuan Pork/Chicken. The Chicken and Broccoli is awesome, too. They serve hot tea which is awesome when it’s freezing and sitting by the door. It’s cheap too, which is nice. If you don’t need/want a lot of flair, I would go here. Wok N Fire has some Chinese options as does Sushi Mono. Those are pretty pricey, but this is a good choice if you’re poor. LIKEME!

What a disappointment… after reading other posts my friend and I were very excited to visit. I made a 5 pm reservation on Friday night. ONE waitress for the entire restaurant! It took us one hour and forty five minutes to get out of there! Food was cold… they don’t even set knives at the table! Awful experience! Everyone I know will ever go there…

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the western suburbs. The décor is very plain but the food is great.

This is the best Korean-Chinese restaurant in western suburbs. Only down side is that if you’ve a big order, it could take a while. But they do take pre-orders. My favorite is Pork TagSuYuk with sauce on the side.

The best Chinese food in the area without a doubt. My problem is I Just cant order anything other than the moo goo, always incredible! But Miss Eastwood just loves her hung su chicken, and little E. Thoroughly enjoyed her kung po chicken. All the soups have fantastic flavors, hot and sour, egg drop and treat yourself to some sizzling rice soup. Before I finish with my extra long diatribe I want to say in closing… Fried rice, never had better.

Good service. Tried Jjajangmyeon. Small portion for $ 9, noodles were way to soggy. Definitely not Korean standard jjajangmyeon, but good enough if you’re craving it.

It is refreshing to see a restaurant with Chinese-Korean food in Downtown Wheaton. Though I admit I’ve had better, this is a great restaurant to dine in. I came on a Tuesday night and there was plenty of seating. The servers were courteous and attentive, and got our orders in quickly. The food did take a good amount of time to come out, but it wasn’t anything to complain about. The food was on point and fulfilled the cravings that I had for this style of cuisine. The tangsuyuk(sweet and sour beef) was crispy and held quality flavors. The overall taste of the jajangmyeon(black bean noodles) that I ordered was a bit bland, but very satisfying. I cleaned out all of my plates and bowls, and felt good about it. With a reasonable price and food that gave me a taste of home in California, Fu Yuan is a restaurant that I would definitely recommend for this style of cuisine.

Consistent good food and kind service. Spicy hot and sour soup is without a doubt the best I’ve ever had.

Great food, great service, and friendly prices. Have been eating at this restaurant for over 15 years. The ingredients are fresh and the food is always awesome. Sometimes they are short handed on servers but be patient, it’s worth the wait. Parking is great and there are plenty to do in the area within walking distance. They have lunch specials, dinner specials and the best soups ever. You can’t go wrong with this place.

I tried to order orange chicken and the guy said something about them not deep frying chicken. Made me order the sweet and sour chicken which was utterly horrible. It tasted worse than chicken mcnugguts at McDonalds. You would think an old Chinese place in downtown Wheaton wold be so much better. At least the inside

I have been coming here for 10 years. This place is the real deal. The food is fresh, fresh, fresh and the sauces are excellent. The lunch specials are great and very reasonably priced. Not a fancy place but very clean and the food is great. Every time I am there, half the customers are speaking Chinese or Korean. That is a good sign to me.

I get the Beef and Broccoli every time at every Chinese food place I go. This is the first one I’ve felt compelled to Unilocal about. Like other reviews I 100% agree, Super Fresh taste. Sauce is light and flavorful, the beef is a better quality then most and the vegetables still have snap. Fu Yuan has become my go-to Chinese spot. The price might be a dollar higher then other places but well worth it for the quality of food. Could have 5 stars if they stepped up the interior.

The service is good and clean. The food I’ve had better. I tried the korean style jjampong and jjajang with kampoongki. The kampoongki was really good but the noodles had a lack of taste to it.

Well… I haven’t really been here in over 10 years. I remember as a kid coming here when it was less than 5 tables and before they«expanded“the dining area. It’s come a long way since then. Just saying that I came to this restaurant after a 12 hour drive from Virginia to eat some good Chinese food says a lot. The trip was well worth it. Obviously I didn’t come to Chicago just for Fu Yuan… but I’m glad I came. My table ordered jajjangmyun, jahm-pong, and kahm-puungi. I personally had the jajjangmyun. It was very good. But what I really remember from the past was the kahm-puungi. This is a «sesame chicken» style of chicken that is spicy. It’s kind of like General Tso’s but so much better. I don’t know if they still have it but if they do, ask for it «bone-in» style. I remember that being amazing. Anyway, it may just be nostalgia, but it was a good place to have a good lunch/dinner.

This place is GREAT!!! After ordering, I decided to just hang out and chat with an older gentleman that was waiting for his food as well. We were both offered hot tea(on the house) on a freezing cold and snowy day. Our wait was very brief and the tea made the time pass well. The food tasted very fresh and there was a lot of it. I ordered the Seafood Jam Bong and the Chicken Lo Mein with pan seared noodles. Both were fantastic. Fairly priced. I will absolutely come back.

Fu Yuan is a small chinese restaurant located in downtown Wheaton. It seems as if they’ve been around forever! I’ve been here a few times. I remember having the chicken fried rice, as well as moo goo gai pan on another occasion. Good Egg Drop Soup! The prices are fair, the food has flavor, and it doesn’t feel as Americanized as other Chinese restaurants in the area. They must be doing something right, because they have been around forever! A nice, quiet spot to dine in downtown Wheaton. If you are looking for good Asian food, I would recommend here or Pad Thai Etc. down the road. I’ve never been to Wok N Fire, so I cannot comment on if they are on the same level.
