I come to Sally Beauty Supply for one thing: Clairol Silverlights shampoo, a purple shampoo especially for color-treated blonde hair. It’s only $ 10, which is a lot cheaper than other«purple shampoo» brands, and it lasts forever! I’m able to find this easily in the store, and there’s always plenty in stock, so I can’t complain. I did not experience the customer service that others talked about. The woman who helped me was courteous and did not say much. When it comes to beauty supply, I still prefer Ulta or Sephora over Sally. This store is mostly for DIYers, hair products, or nail products.

Alright, besides Michaela who is always eager to help me with a smile and with her knowledge… The women here do not care about anything besides standing in the back corner talking. I went in the store yesterday(08÷19÷15) at exactly 7:00pm there was only one lady in there looking for hair extensions while I was looking for orange hair dye, I didn’t find it but I was never greeted when I walked in the establishment, no one asked if I needed help or why I immediately left the store.(showing that they didn’t care to make the sale) The lady looking at extensions had to YELL for the two ladies to hear her asking for assistance to look at extensions. They didn’t respond one lady just walked over and you could just hear and see she didn’t give two cares in the world. Whenever I go into this location I feel unwelcome and a bother to most sales associates. I don’t even know any of the girls there besides Michaela because shes always so friendly and eager to help me in the times I go in. I go in a decent amount when its busy and when its not, the customer service here sucks. I’ve worked retail and I get that long shifts get to you and you can only be so sane from stocking shelves all day. But this is unacceptable and I hate when I need to go to Sally’s because I know I’ll either be completely ignored or someone will be watching me from afar not offering help but staring at me making me uncomfortable while I look at colors. I went into the store with my mother a few months back and there was a man there with a hand tattoo who was lazy and rude when we went in, he back talked his superior and she allowed him to speak to her in a rude manor in-front of customers at the register which upset my mother and she has not returned thus due to how unprofessional the establishment is. Honestly the only reason I still go to this location is because its so close to my house and in hopes that when I go in either the customer service is better or I will catch Michaela on shift. I work in Danada as well and I shop in the stores frequently and no one has such bad customer service than this store.

I’m really tired of the balding woman at Sally’s hounding after me with her unwanted advice.(I have friends who feel the same) I add the balding part not to be mean but because how can I take advice on hair are from someone with no hair? Today I stopped in to pick up some dye and extensions to match my newly done red hair. With the help of another associate who was much more helpful I found what I needed and went to check out. Meanwhile this woman comes up to me after eaves dropping on our conversation and starts telling me how I dyed my hair wrong.(Apparently she heard me say I used a 40 developer instead of the 30). She goes on and on saying I should have read the directions. That’s not the right developer. I’m not of the right descent for that strong of a product. I went along with it but I was seriously offended. This information MIGHT have been helpful when I bought the products there 2 days ago but she just endlessly harrassed me. I love the way my hair turned out and I actually had to use the 40 developer mixture TWICE. No harm done. Basically what I’m saying is after making a $ 200 purchase at your store don’t tell me how stupid I am for not doing things your way.

I’m a proud DIYer. I can take apart and reimagine an Ikea bookcase. I can create 4 canvas melted crayon art that will move you in ways you thought only the Mona Lisa could. I refuse to get manicures at nail shops because I manage to do a pretty great job. Oh, and my hair? It doesn’t escape my creativity. I have gone from black to red to brown to platinum to fuchsia to cotton candy pink to pale mint. Thanks to the internet and the helpful folks at this Sally’s, I’ve had minimal hair related misfortunes. Although they aren’t «professionals,» they really know their stuff. They know the products, always check for promos when it’s time to check out, and make great recommendations on products. They are friendly too. I’d have to recommend this Sally’s above most in this area as well because it’s stocked very well. Only once in my many trips here was I unable to find an item I needed. They gladly located the item at another store and made sure it was put on hold for me. As far as prices, they seem decent to me. When I do permanently color my own or my moms hair, it has never come out damaged. Even when bleaching is involved. That alone is priceless because even in a salon, you can’t be guaranteed healthy hair after any process. Their Ion Brilliance line is a favorite for this reason. It’s gentle but gives consistent results.
