Horcher Farms

I have been curious about this place ever since I moved into the area back in November of 2014. I pass this spot every time I go to Sam’s Club, and today I decided to go in and get some lilies while I waited for my tires to be repaired. I’m sure glad I did!
The family that runs this shop starts their plants early and takes great care of them until frost late into the year. For the customer, that means huge, flowering plants and sprawling tomato vines full of fruit– much bigger than you can get at any chain store market. You don’t have to worry about the plants being too large to transport, because Horcher’s offers delivery for a small fee.
The shop also sells produce at local farmers markets on the weekends (Wheeling, Mundelein) which the owner’s children assist with. They deliver gravel and offer landscaping, to boot.
Very nice folks with a good range of product as well as some antiques for sale.

You will never find fresher flowers (grown there) nicer people or better quality. I can’t say enough. It’s like going back in time when people treated others with honor and respect. Wonderful customer service.

Super low key, down to earth people. I stopped in with an off the wall request and they hooked me up right away at a very reasonable price.
Family owned so it is a bonus to help support local business.
Heads up — dirt and gravel parking lot. Don’t wear your best shoes if the weather hasn’t been dry.
More of a nursery than florist.

Great prices and quality

This is a wonderful family-​owned, local farm. The people are nice and make sure that what you want is what you get. They can order anything you want and they deliver! This will be the only place we go from now on!!!
