I’m pretty sure they buy frozen food at Sam’s Club and microwave it the back. Chewy gooey yuck.

Good lunch special, $ 5.95, main course, fried rice an egg roll. General Tos lunch was excellent. egg roll a bit over cooked, large enough for 2 people. I’ve heard Cheese Wontons are excellent also.

SKIPTHISPLACE I think this business is under new ownership. We have eaten here many times in the past but today was different. The waitress/owner a young woman was rude beyond belief. I ordered beef pea pod and it was served with fried rice. Before the plate was set on our table I asked for the fried rice to be exchanged for white rice(the way it is normally served in THIS restaurant off this SAMEMENU). The waitress said I should have ordered it that way to start with and she would not exchange it, but I could buy a scoop of white rice for $ 2. I told her no thank you, but if you want me as a return customer to please take care of this for me since she hadn’t even put my food on the table. But, no, she insisted on arguing about how I placed my order incorrectly, she then went and told another young man that was working there about it and also the cook. None of them had the sense to give me a dimes worth of white rice in exchange for my fried rice that came out of a big pot since it surely wasn’t anything special. The rest of our meal was so-so, bad soggy sweet and sour chicken. No other customers, I guess I’m one of the last to figure out to stay away. Too many good places to eat, no need to put up with really poor customer service, but they got to keep their scoop of white rice. They win.

A good spot to order take out! Ready in 20 min and reasonably priced Fresh and crisp veggies Kung Pao chicken had the selected amount of heat and a fan favorite Free order of 10 cream cheese wontons for orders over $ 30! Beef Curry was delish as was Beef with Black Bean sauce. Delightful young woman to take phone order and greet me when I picked up. Will go back!

The lady that answered was very rude. I asked a question about the order portions and she acted like I had ruined her day.

First off, one of the reviews mentions Phở. For the record, they no longer offer Phở. Now everyone’s recommendation about the cream cheese wontons is spot on! Just the way we like ‘em. We tried the Hot and Spicy Chicken which they do their own special way, but it was really good. We also had an eggroll salad, for which I’d say the salad was near the top of others I’ve had and the eggroll was better than average. So all in all, we enjoyed what we had, and if I could, I would probably give them 3.5 stars.

From the menu, this is a standard neighborhood Chinese restaurant with some Vietnamese dishes thrown in. I had spring rolls and Vietnamese grilled pork salad. The rolls and salad were made with only the minimal basic ingredients and lacked the sauces(fish, hoisin, peanut) that give life to the cuisine. It wasn’t worth the calories or the price. I also ate-in; a mistake. The inside is fluorescent-lit dreary, with cheap furnishings and Christmas decorations. The old man who waited on me was grinning and laconic; the old lady who brought my food was unhappy about something. It felt like a bad horror movie scene. Go elsewhere.

I was looking for another place a friend had suggested in the area and couldn’t find it so I hopped on Unilocal and low and behold, I found another gem. I had a good feeling when I was standing there staring at the menu to place my order and a patron of the restaurant complimented the food as being«Awesome». The service was great. The food was fast and still hot when I got it home. I’m always a little skeptical of cream cheese wontons because they don’t always taste the same; They were delicious and exactly like I like them. We will definitely be back!

I will never go back to this restaurant. The woman is incredibly rude and the service is terribly slow. The man in the kitchen is very friendly. He should be the one up front. I’m always the only customer at lunch time yet they make me feel like an inconvenience. They also never seem to be open by the posted open time. Every time I have been there, the t.v. is disturbingly loud. The food has been quite good occasionally but very inconsistent. The Phở was not good at all.

We really enjoyed our take out from here a few weeks ago. I’d read that the cream cheese wontons were really good but I questioned how great they could be as I’ve had the CCWs here in MN a few times. I don’t know what these guys do but they were really tasty! We got an order of 10 and there wasn’t a single one left! Hubs got the General Tsao’s chicken(his usual) and I go the orange chicken. I had food envy as his was definitely the better dish of the night. The orange chicken is not a stir fry, it’s pieces of breaded chicken with an orange sauce on the side. It’s fine, it’s not great. Plenty of food, enough for both of us to enjoy again the next day! We will order from Bald Eagle again!

We ordered take out from Bald Eagle last night and were very happy with the food. We ordered sesame chicken, wontons, fried rice, and chicken and brocoli. It was all delicious, and very big portions. We will be eating left overs for the next 3 days at least, which is fine with me because it is so good. I would especially recommend the cream cheese wontons. I normally do not like wontons and never order them, but my wife is a fan so we got some. They were the first wonton I have ever had that I wanted more. It was great to find a good chinese restaurant that isn’t a normal mall chain, this will now be our go to Chinese place, you should go too.

There is absolutely no reason one would expect that you could get a decent Chinese or Vietnamese meal in a residential neighborhood outside downtown White Bear Lake, but you can! The urge to rate this place five stars is based on this vast discrepancy between theory and reality, but in fact Bald Eagle Chinese Vietnamese only warrants a rating of three stars. It is, in fact, better than any other chinese/vietnamese option within a 5 mile radius, but it is not superb. Their fried rice doesn’t pack much of a punch and their lo mein practically swims around in a tank of soy sauce, but the chicken dishes I’ve tried have been quite good and quite satisfying. The prices are low, the owners are very friendly and provide good service, and the food is actually very tasty. Who woulda thunkit

I found this place by Googling«Awesome Vietnamese White Bear»! Sure enough, it was pretty awesome. We ordered a vermicelli salad with chicken and the Szechuan Chicken. Both were flavorful, spicy, well balanced creations that satisfied our palates immensely. I feel like they use better quality ingredients than a lot of other Asian restaurants. I don’t often pass though WBL but you can bet when I do, I will look forward to trying more selections from this little hidden treasure.

Holy cats, I was surprised! I drive by this place a few times a week, and never thought about going in. I finally thought we should try it, and I’m glad we did. There is seating inside for about 25 or so total — which is surprising because it does NOT look that big from the outside. We ordered a few different meals and appetizers. The combo appetizer plate was so-so, but their cheese puffs are awesome(yes, such a connoisseur of Chinese food when I judge a place on its cream cheese wontons…) All our meals had good flavor and nothing was too salty and we have leftovers for lunch(and probably dinner!) the next day. Not too greasy, lots of veggies, lots of flavor. Everyone was really nice there and service was great. I will totally be going back again(and they deliver!).

I needed to update my first review, this place is for sure 4 stars! Solid Chinese food, cheap too! I’m hesitant to try something else since I discovered my favorite dish. I love the woman who works there too, very friendly! Lately, it looks like business has picked up and that’s a good thing. Hoping they do well!

This restaurant is awesome. From the outside it looks like a little hole in the wall but don’t let that fool you. The inside décor isn’t great but what the heck… the food is awesome, awesome, awesome. Did I mention that the food is awesome. I recommend any of their Rice Vermicelli Salad’s. This place has been in business for almost one year and I just discovered it a few weeks ago. Second visit was even better than the first. The menu is quite extensive. A lot of take-out orders were flying out the door, and other diners raved about the food too.

Without question, this is the best Vietnamese food place in White Bear Lake. Well, okay, it’s the ONLY Vietnamese food place in White Bear Lake, but I like it better than any of the other Vietnamese places I’ve been, including the ones in Saint Paul! The beef Phở is a standout. Great broth, meat, etc. and they do not skimp on all of the veggies. Also a plus: Hoisin sauce on the tables, along with hot pepper oil and fish sauce. I’ve gone here with groups as large as 15 and always found the staff accommodating and pleasant. Everyone in the group agreed that everything was top-notch and reasonably priced. They are also very family-friendly. I brought my one-year-old daughter here once when she was in one of her«throwing moods.» The man working thought she was hilarious, and kept bringing out ice and fortune cookies for her to play with. Although the place lacks ambiance, the food and staff really make up for it. One of my all time favorites.(Although, to be fair, I wish they served Bun Bo Hue.)
