Lake Harmony, PA
New Chef in the house — If you have not been to the East Side recently you are in for a treat. Chicken fingers basket best in the state — Cheesesteak and the daily homemade specials are real Americana. This is a real upstate Pa bar with COLD beer. Owner is a bit grumpy but that makes it special.

This bar/​restaurant is more restaurant than bar. Nothing fancy but the food is good, the bartender fun and the service great. There is a bar along one wall that seats about 10 or 12 and a large open area with tables for dining. I would agree with other reviewers and not let the outside appearance fool you. It’s a low building that sits outside of White Haven but once inside, the place opens up. The cheesesteaks were excellent and the drinks well mixed. Prices are very good and the menu has a good selection of pub food and nibbles. Worth a try if you’re on the edge of the Poconos.

Do NOT let the looks of this place deceive you. A group of 4 of us stopped in after having it recommended to us by acquaintances. When we showed up, we all pretty much said «seriously?». We couldn’t have been more wrong. The French onion soup was amazing, the chicken philly was excellent and my friend couldn’t stop raving about the prime rib sandwich. Then there was the steak. We were told by our waitress Dawn that the special couldn’t be ordered till 5 and if ordered before then, the owner would get mad lol. It was only 10 minutes so it was no big deal. It was well worth the wait!!! Overall, this was a great surprise!!!
As a separate note, while we were there, a large group of 16 showed up along with a table of 4 and she was excellent! She never lost her attention to detail made our experience even better!

Clifton Heights, PA
The best strip steak I ever tasted. I never order beef out, I’m just not thrilled with it. This melted in my mouth the seasoning was just perfect. It was my husbands meal and I was lucky to have gotten the taste I did. I will certainly get this on our next visit.
Eastside is the perfect hometown place to stop in for a meal!

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Came across this place on our way back to our hotel. We were hungry and decided to give this place a try. We waited a little longer than usual to be served (hence the 4 stars) but in the end we were very happy with our meal.
I highly recommend a stop at the East Side Inn if you are in the Lake Harmony, White Haven, Poconos area.

Awful experience. Waited for 50 minutes for two cheesesteaks, and they weren’t even that good. (Somehow, the fries were soggy too.) Staff was friendly enough, but it is completely inexcusable to wait that long for something so simple, especially when it is not that busy.

Horrible! We waited over 50 mins for our food! The cheesesteaks were blah and fries soggy and gross. The place isn’t nice and there are no redeeming qualities to justify stopping here.

Ribeye steak, ¼″ thick, covered with some kins of mustardy tasting sauce. Sorry to say, not good. What did I expect for $ 9.95 special? Nice people, though.

Not much to look out from outside but food and service were pretty good. Went on a Monday evening, was not busy. Wifi was also nice to entertain the kids on their iPods to buffer the wait for our food.

This place doesn’t look like much, and in this case, you can judge a book by the cover. I went on a Thursday night, and there were only about ten people in the place.
The inside is very dated, with a little bit of a musty smell. The lighting is turned up a little too bright. The food was pretty good though. I had the Honey Mustard Wings and a couple of the $ 1.50 drafts (pints). Overall decent service, just the right amount of attention, but it did look like a slow night.
