The chicken was super dry. I can only guess that they grabbed it from the all you can eat buffet and slapped some BBQ sauce on it. The owner come over to our table and introduced herself which was really nice. The outside sitting area has a great view of the lake. Like always this is my experience you might have a better one. PS. the corn fritters saved this review from getting 2 stars. They were delicious!

Pathetic BBQ. Very disappointed. Pork with Kraft BBQ sauce. And 26 bucks for two sandwiches and some fries. Never again.

I just used Bubba’s BBQ to cater a BBQ party for me this past Saturday. They came on time, set up, and served my guests. The food was delicious we had had the Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket. Baked beans, cornbread coleslaw, Mac m Cheese Everyone was happy and my BBQ was a success. If you want a party catered and go without a hitch, use Bubba’s

Decided on barbecue for the evening and went to Bubba’s BBQ in White Lake, New York in the Catskill Mountains. I’m a fan of BBQ, well prepared BBQ. A rack of pork ribs, done right, and I will lay down my arms and sit at the table with you. Two guys, both named Gary so the story goes, bought this place, hired staff and started cooking. The menu is a tad thin; perhaps it’s time will flesh it out. The side dishes are adequate. The barbecued baked beans were candy sweet but the corn bread a little dry. But I didn’t exactly have side dishes in mind on our arrival. The beer offerings were nice and diverse. I chose a very hoppy brew from the Coney Island Brewing Company, Overpass IPA. The server recommended it when I asked for their IPAs. This lady knows her brews. I ordered a full rack of pork ribs. They came large, 14 or so ribs bbq’d in a rich and delicious manner. I come from New York City and while St. Louis, Chicago and Louisiana are the BBQ rib meccas, being part of such a cosmopolitan city means I get to taste the best this world has to offer. I know what I like in BBQ ribs. Gary, or Gary, damn! I mean Damn! Thanks for the treat. Those ribs literally dropped from the bone, they were so tender and juicy. The smoky aroma and that sauce, you done right. I asked our server to disclose the brand of BBQ sauce at the table. She only offered that it was homemade, not commercial. That means I get to hate you guys because I can’t just buy it. I’m sorry I did not try the gumbo or jambalaya. If 4.5 or 4.75 stars were possible, you’d have earned them. We are here on vacation, heading home soon. To quote the Series 800, Cyberdyne Systems Terminator, Model 101, «I’ll be back.»

Service was slow but we did have about 20. Their signature pulled pork sandwich was dry, BBQ was a step away from catsup. the bun or roll that it was on was, well i couldn’t figure out what it was. All of the fried food, corn fritters, onion rings and fries were greasy. And the place wasn’t cheap.

Don’t bother. Waited an Hour for a pulled pork sandwich and French fries. Then cancelled my order and left. 14 customers in the place. Pathetic.

This place has a really great location on the lake. That might be all it has going for it though. We stopped here on the way to a concert at Bethel Woods. We got the pulled pork sandwiches. It took quite awhile to get the food we ordered, way longer than expected for just sandwiches. The pulled pork tasted store bought and dried out. The fries were quite good though. To be fair, the waiter was really nice. I do think they charge way too much for the quality of food that is received. They had a buffet going on for $ 20 a person. Very happy I did not choose that option. The food does not taste like authentic bbq at all.

Have eaten here a few times over several years. Each time leaving unhappy that we just wasted money on their so called bbq. They are a local business so we gave them several chances, but the food is still horrible. No matter what meat you get it is dried out like it has been baking under a warming table lamp for hours. And then they slop some store bought cheap bbq sauce on it. Yuck! This isn’t bbq! If you want true bbq, slow cooked, wood smoked very very tasty, with homemade sauces on the side, then go down 17b about a mile to Big Kevs BBQ. Big Kevs is true bbq just minus the indoor seating. Bubba BBQ should be ashamed to call their food bbq.

Great place to drink and enjoy a nice day outside by the lake. The travesty is the food! As low quality as you can imagine, like school lunch. What a waste! This can be a goldmine. If they partnered with Kevin’s BBQ and let them do the food, this would be a very special place. So much potential if they just made an effort to produce good food.

Without exaggeration, the McRib leaves the food here in the dust. If you’re the kind of person who goes to 7-Eleven for dinner because the heat lamp sandwiches are that good, this is your place right here. My husband and I tried the brisket and the steamers. The brisket tasted like it came out of a pouch that was boiled in water, and the clams had the mouth feel of clam-flavored Bubbilicious. I actually found the congealed buttery side condiment to be the best part of the meal, if only for the entertainment value. This is a great place to sit outside and drink beer. Too bad you can’t brown bag it from home.

Okay, this review is going to be weird, but hear me out … Ninety percent of my meal was lousy and definitely not worth the price. My salmon tasted like rubber. The baked potato was so gross I spit it out. What saved my meal was the delicious coleslaw which I spread over my salmon(along with a ton of Tabasco sauce, lemon juice and balsamic vinegar) to disguise the taste. So why the four stars? My husband and I had great service(and that is rare in this day and age). The hostess who seated us was lovely and our waiter tried his best. I also loved the location. We got to sit outside, overlooking a beautiful lake. They played nice classic rock music, not too loud. And, the bathroom was so clean you could eat off the floor! If we come back to the area, I’d give it another shot and order something more simple like the steamed clams and a side of that delicious coleslaw.

With such a great lakeside spot it’s truly a shame that Bubba’s doesn’t understand food. Grab a drink at the bar with the biker crowd but get your BBQ at Big Kev’s just down the road.

I am not sure what the lower stars are about but clearly they had a bad experience here. I ate here with about 4 couples. I mean it’s definitely not five stars, however I thought the meals were delicious. We had a few appetizers and a few meals and the service was excellent. We ate overlooking the lake and it was beautiful. It was a BBQ place and it was yummy. Overall, a definite four stars and positive experience.

the place gets two stars one for location and the second for restaurant itself. We were there on Saturday night the place is nice with great views of the lake. the place itself has no music and no atmosphere. My husband ordered the chicken quesidia it was unedible the tortilla was uncooked filled with American cheese! disgusting My son and I ordered the brisket so, much of it was burnt and unedible and had such a strong onion taste that we had upset stomachs for the rest of the night.

This place is supposed to be known for their pulled pork, but all three of us found it to be dry and tasteless. We wouldn’t even bring it home for our dog! They gave us a two dollar discount. Hope they get a clue on how to improve their pulled pork recipe, Robert Irvine where are you?

Very surprised to read about past experiences and the low rating. We have been here before about 3 years ago and we had bar food it was fine. The lake view is really great. This time around, I had the brisket sandwich and my co-eater had the bubba burger. Brisket had caramelized onions sautéed with a BBQ au jus. It was deelish. Fries were good too. Burger was very juicy and flavorful. A++ on the service as well. The restaurant looks organized and well staffed.

Service is always quick and friendly, ribs are great. The side dishes aren’t fantastic, but sitting out on the lake with great ribs makes up for that.

It is nice to have food outside on a deck overlooking a lake. service was rather slow, waited really long time before placing food order(but drinks came fast) and really long time to get a check. Food we had was mediocre. We are vegetarians and this place is not about it(with still some choices available). We had all you can eat buffet — and it was just ok. Generally people there were very friendly and nice.
