this place is closed. :(we went to Maybury Riding Stable in Northville MI instead. Amazing experience. Would recommend anyone looking for a place to trail ride to go there instead.

My experience with horses ended with the ponies at the fair. All I know is what I see in the movies. Whoa=Stop and Pulling Hard on the Rings=(in the movies) a horse getting crazy on two legs and taking off. With that being said I found myself here at the Pontiac Lake Riding Stable, trying to «expand» my interests. The people running the show there are INCREDIBLY nice, and put my cousin and myself at ease right away. The place looks like a normal barn with outhouses and an office. It was not fancy at all, but I was paying for a horse ride, not expensive stalls etc. Horses seemed well taken care of and in good spirits. A ranger took the two of us out on an hour trail ride going over hills, to a look out point, next to a lake and kept us at a comfortable pace. The entire trail ride set us back at about $ 30 per person, which is really a great deal if you call around. I loved going there and look forward to going back. We were given coupons to return and there is a $ 2 discount if you pay with cash. I would recommend this place for an enjoyable ride for all ages. I did expand my interests & can’t wait to go back.
