I have been a student at the Music Conservatory for 10 years and it has changed my life. I played the flute as a young person and wanted to get back to it; they found me a great teacher and when she left, they found me another one. I’ve met people that I can play duets with, improved beyond what I ever thought was possible and have been both rewarded and totally satisfied by my experiences. Although I’m a ‘classical’ person, they hooked me up with a Tango group and we played in The Westchester mall! I have taken piano lessons there for 20 years My wife has taken voice lessons for 10 years My son took trombone and my daughter voice. All have had a wonderful experience. My evaluation of the Music Conservatory of Westchester is as follows : Great for beginners and accomplished musicians. Great for little kids(Suzuki), 3 to 5 young kids(group lessons to start), 5 to 7 Not so young kids(80 incredible teachers piano, guitar, voice plus. 20+ other instruments) 8 to 18 Adults 19 to 91(!) Great recital hall with video recording facilities. Music theory at no extra charge. Ensembles for all ages. Great summer camp THE music school in westchester.

I don’t know how to rate a music conservatory since I would assume something like U.S. news and reports would do it. In terms of my experience, however, I would say this place is pretty good. If you want to learn an instrument i.e. Violin, cello, guitar, piano, or dance, this is the place to do it. The only con I have is the parking which can get tight. The furniture is also dated, but I guess this is standard. They have a medium sized recital hall, lots of practice rooms, and fair pricing. Great for enriching yourself or your junior Yo yo Ma.

The class that our child auditioned for was cancelled without our knowledge. Our first, second and third choice for instrument were also not available so we had no choice but to enroll in «musical theater». The instructor plays favorites among the children, refused to allow some to audition, spoke inappropriately to our child. Her goal was to make it clear that” life isn’t fair” per discussions with the camp director. There is no ownership of their mistakes and no refund. Our child refused to return for the second week.
