Have had much better Greek food. Toughest, worst lamb ever. almost inedible. Mousaka was so-so. I think the chef poured out way too much nutmeg. Chicken lemon soup was below average — no lemon flavor. Pita and tz. sauce — pretty good and the Greek salad was quite good. Really, really nice people though!

I placed a to go order last night. They weren’t too friendly. I tipped 6.00 for 2 gyros and hummus and wasn’t even offered a water while I waited for my food. I wasn’t impressed that I paid 17.00 for each gyro. It was good but not worth the cost. Just to let you know this is more of a fine dinning place which I didn’t know but I don’t have an issue paying for good food.

Sadly, I gave this place a second try. The first time, I thought it was no better than a a regular diner. Second time, came at an odd hour so restaurant had only two other tables filled and noticed restaurant had an odor, then noticed the bug traps hanging from ceiling. Food came, had ordered pork, but took one bite and realized it was lamb, yuck! Hate lamb, didn’t eat it and waiter insisted i had ordered it, wrong, I never eat lamb! Only took a little off the bill after i insisted. I always judge a greek restaurant based on their pork souvlaki, but didn’t get it and never coming back.

Came here with friends on a Saturday night, but just too LOUD for me, and super busy. The tables are too close together, so if you are going out for a romantic date — don’t come here. Besides Street Parking is a hassle. However the staff were friendly and the service was fast. I would not come back here on a weekend, I would think it is better during the week. I ordered the Lemon Soup that was good and the Greek Salad. My friend ordered the Pita filled with meat and she said it was just OK. Honestly, if you want fabulous Greek food you MUSTGO to «MP Taverna» at 1 Bridge St, Irvington, NY10533. It is pricy $ but worth every penny. Right next to the Irvington Train Station.

We’ve been dining at Niko’s for years. The ambiance is excellent. Lovely, attentive staff. The food is excellent, the best in Westchester or at least the equal of anyplace else I’ve ever been. My wife loved their lamb shanks; I would recommend them to anyone. We both loved their taramasalata which we cut with lemon juice — it’s better that way(sorry, I’m opinionated). Virtually everything I’ve ever had a Niko’s has been excellent including their retsina. I’d recommend the place for anyone. Nice table cloths, nice music, outdoor seating if desired. We’ve never had a single complaint. This may seem too saccharine, but I stand by this place. It’s great.

We actually mentioned to go to the Koren place next door but they were closed. What a happy accident! This place was fantastic! We sat right outside, we were seated immediately, the service was very good and the food was authentic and delicious. I recommend them highly!

Food was pretty good IMO. My dad actually LOVED it. I thought it was on par with Lefteris. Sevice was really friendly and efficient. My only issue was the price. It was very pricey for what they were offering. I had a lamb slouvaki(sp?) that was not as good as Lefteris and double the price. Guess it’s the real estate and where they are located.

I’ve dined at Niko’s a few times in the past, but to be honest I was never impressed with them and always opted for either Lefteris in Tarrytown or Elia Taverna in Bronxville. My friends and I felt like Greek tonight and since we were in the area we decided to come here. Niko’s is relatively small, they pack a lot of tables but I didn’t feel cramped. When it’s nice out they have outdoor seating which is nice during the spring and summer. Décor is simple — wooden tables/chairs with white tablecloths; the tables are covered with sheets of paper that have maps of the Greek islands — a nice touch. The pitas were there, like we all knew they would be; they were served with olive oil to dip as well as kalamata olives. We started with a sampling of their spreads; we chose the tzatziki, kafteri(a spicy feta), and the melitzanosalata(eggplant, shallot, and tomato). The spreads were good, my favorite was the spicy feta — creamy with the right amount of heat. One thing to note is they don’t serve the spreads with additional pita, we had to ask for more since we were carbing out on our first supply waiting for the dips. We also started with the spanakopita which was pretty tasty. For my main I had the chicken souvlaki which came with broccoli and rice — basic but good. Service was fine, it was fast and in the past I always thought it was too fast — however tonight it was a good pace. The food is good at Niko’s, but it doesn’t excite me; there’s nothing necessarily bad about the food, I’ve just had better. You may find your go-to Greek spot at Niko’s, but I’ll look elsewhere.

The food was fine and came out quickly, but it was WAY overpriced. $ 20 for a small greek salad with 5 small pieces of lamb(at $ 9 to add the lamb souvlaki, I guess I just expected more). I’ll stick with Lefteri’s.

LOUSY! Greek salad covered in mayonaise. Really? Salads have no taste. Waiters would rather watch commercials on tv then pay attention to customers. Just about anywhere else would be bettet

Exceptional! Best Greek food I’ve had in the US. The dolmades avgolemono were particularly delicious. We are moving to the area and will make many more visits!

Don’t let the pictures fool you. This place serves mediocre Greek food. Should be diner food to be exact. Over priced and no daily specials.

This is my favorite place to to for Greek food. I am frankly surprised that it only has 3 stars. The owner and waitstaff are always very attentive and nice. They have great menu items, spanning from traditional Greek dishes to more Americanized fare. I also find the food to be well priced, and the portions huge.

So… the food was pretty good, albeit overpriced for what you get: $ 14 for a Soulvaki(pardon my spelling) sandwich w/a side. My main issue was the ambiance-don’t go here if you’re planning on talking to your date. This place is LOUD, and I say this as a person who lives in NYC. We were seated at a small table and literally had to yell at each other to be heard. The funniest part was when they played ‘Happy Birthday’ over speakers throughout the entire restaurant. Again… blaring loud. And people, it sounded like the cast of Barney was singing it! lol. I was cracking up because it really looks like a cute, romantic place. But I think it’s more of a local hangout spot. Not a place is return, but if you go, get the loukianko(again, with the spelling lol). It was fabulous.

In response to review from Marlo s, I would just like to say, you were being obnoxious I was present at the restaurant, there is a way to handle a situation. Not be as rude and vulgar as you were, I did not see the manager do anything out of the norm, your«FRIENDSKID» was being annoying to all of the other customers in the restaurant, maybe your friend should learn how to discipline their kid so when you go to public places you act accordingly.

Stay away from this place. First the food is not good compared to other Greek restaurants I have eaten at and to top it off the owner told us in a very nasty tone to go outside because my friends child was being a little loud while we were finishing out meal. Then when he was approached he goes in your face with his finger and curses you like your garbage. Please stay away from this place especially if you have small kids.

Seated outside for a quick Saturday lunch we went simple ordering a Chicken Gyro and a Lamb Souvlaki which pretty much looked liked a Chicken Gyro. Meals — while a bit expensive — were fine. Probably could get the same at a solid diner. Service performed but was otherwise indifferent and uninterested. (Light years away from Savannah and its true southern hospitality) Outside dining can become noisy with fast Central Avenue traffic — especially in this area. Might want to dine inside — If a car loses control you’re done for…

We’ve dined here before, but tonight, we decided to order take-out. I went for their always succulent grilled octopus –which I absolutely love and is totally divine. My husband on the other hand, ordered the gyro. Service is swift here, and we appreciate that– whether we’re dining in-house or taking out. The food is very tasty, flavorful and not overwhelming.

Niko’s serves delicious Greek fare and the atmosphere is conducive to conversation! I love the color scheme and photos of Greece around the table. For starters bread and olives come out– who doesn’t enjoy Greek olive oil we also ordered a lamb sausage starter very tasty and fresh. For entrees we ordered the grilled shrimp, it is 6 large shrimps on a skewer served with delicious rice pilaf(cooked in were onions and spinach). The chicken gyro is sliced thinly and char grilled not served with lettuce and tomato but pita bread, rice and broccoli(I wouldn’t order this but my boyfriend enjoyed it) tzatziki sauce(GREAT!) is served in a small dipping cup– I personally enjoy more then 2 tablespoons with my gyros. We didn’t have the friendliest waiter but the food is very tasty and I will be returning.

Good local spot for Greek food. Casual, laid back atmosphere. Good service. Have had dinner here post-work several times with work friends. Have tried their Gyro platter, Stuffed Peppers(yummy) entrée, and various other dishes/appetizers. Food has always been good. Good solid/consistent spot to go to.
