Delicious food, friendly staff, and lovely atmosphere. I’d been in a couple times before, and always had very pleasant service. I met the owner the last time I visited and she was not only very personable, but went above and beyond to provide excellent service. They don’t have a huge menu, but what they do have is good, and to me customer service, ambiance, and quality of food(or whatever it may be that I’m buying) make or break my experience. I live in RI but try to stop by whenever I’m visiting my mom who lives in town. Definitely a little gem in quaint down White River Junction :)

Helpful staff who really know their product and can help the«newbie» figure out what to order. The soups and sandwiches pair together very well. And now the have a baker who make new yummy bakes good such as whoopee pies and scones!

Tried this because we had a gift certificate. Slightly over priced for what you get. I expected my Reuben to be larger for what they charged… nope, small like you’d make at home. For two of us at lunch, it came to $ 27. All we had was two sandwiches, 1 bag chips and two drinks… I asked for a bowl of soup. The lady said she only makes it on Mondays and they ran out on Friday… yuck…that means it was heated up for five days in a row… nasty… Will go back just to use rest of gift certificate… after that, no thanks.

We picked up some sandwiches for lunch. They could best be described as «mom might have packed better ones for school back in the day». Nothing special about them; the contents all seemed like right out of the supermarket(bread, cold cuts). Exactly 4 slices of cold cuts per sandwich … for over $ 7 a sandwich. They were plain, fairly dry(the bread didnt seem that fresh) and … ordinary. Not bad or disgusting, mind you, don’t get me wrong. Just really plain, school lunch box type, thin, definitely not worth $ 7+ apiece(doesn’t include chips, drink or anything except the plain sandwich), sandwiches. Won’t be back. One other thing … in this day and age … nowhere in their social media presence(website, Unilocal page, etc) can you find hours of operation or other useful or up-to-date information. Hope these guys get their act together, it is a funky little place, but the food would have to get waaaaay better for the price for me to go back there again. If you’re willing to spend almost $ 18 for 4 slices of bread, 8 slices of cold cuts, 2 slices of cheese and a couple of teaspoons of cole slaw & dressing … I could have enjoyed lunch a whole lot more by going to the supermarket, buying it and making my own.

Charming little joint for coffee – friendly, relaxed atmosphere. This was an accidental discovery while in WRJ, and I’ll be back, intentionally, from now on!

Really bad. .. Salad had processed cheese, pre-cooked chicken. «Artisanal» bread was white bread. .. unfriendly staff. . Skip this place!

This was the go-to place for lunch back when I was going to college in White River Junction and I still recommend it today. The staff was inviting and always friendly and the sandwiches and hand made chips were delicious. The atmosphere is very laid back and it’s still one of the best places for lunch around.

Went for lunch on Monday February 24. The salad was bland and for $ 7, there wasn’t much there, but the worst part is that when i got to the bottom of my bowl a pile of slimy rotten lettuce was congealed together. I stopped eating, left the remaining 1⁄3 of the salad in the bowl, brought the bowl to the counter and told them. I got a weak apology and that’s it. Not 30 seconds later, I saw a large bag of lettuce being smelled, poked and sifted through… and then it was put into the trash.

My diligently packed salad just wasn’t screaming, «eat me» today for lunch but rather, meat was what I wanted. So, I popped down to downtown WRJ to get me some. Tuckerbox wasn’t offering lunch today due to a closed kitchen, and I was curious to check out Boho. I have eaten their homemade chips before. I ordered a grilled roast beef sandwich that hit the spot: A well executed sandwich with the right proportion of roast beef, cheese, red peppers, horseradish, and grease. I could tell there was grease but there wasn’t so much that I felt dirty-just a bit wicked. Homemade chips are good to and reasonably priced for $ 1. Prices are reasonable, staff are nice, and the vibe is good. It kinda reminds me of cafes in Berkeley and San Francisco, CA as well as Portland, OR. I almost expect to see Fred Armisen noshing on a sandwich.

There aren’t a lot of lunch options in White River Junction, so I try not to be too picky about what is available. With that said, the staff are so friendly here, but the sandwiches are just okay. For $ 6.25, you’ll be full… but the sandwiches and wraps also look and taste like something you could make yourself with just an extra 5 minutes in the morning. The fresh sprouts are a nice touch, but the roast beef sometimes tastes a bit rough and makes the bread soggy. There’s often a bit too much mayo in the chicken salad. The ingredients don’t always taste the freshest, but perhaps that’s to be expected for this area. I usually get the vegetarian wrap, because without meat, I feel like it’s a relatively safe option. I just wish they could be wrapped tightly, like what you’d get at a typical deli and the avocado was a little more substantial than a few thin slivers.

I stopped in here with my EXTREMELY picky grandmother one afternoon after running a few errands in nearby Quechee. I had fond memories of it from a carry out sandwich I had eaten months before, and I decided it was a safe bet for someone who would literally explode at the sight of garlic. I stopped in, and after a few moments of my elderly companion squinting at the chalkboard, we ordered our sandwiches, and sat down. And that’s when the lights went out. All electronics, really. On the entire block. Restaurant workers lined the streets, equipped with cell phones, planning their exit strategy from their now-defunct workplaces. I have to hand it to the Boho staff: they remained level headed and adapted. They assured us that our our sandwiches were almost ready before everything went to shit(my words). They were right. Not long after, our sandwiches were served to us, albeit merely lukewarm. I had repeated my carryout order from so long ago, a buffalo chicken salad sandwich on an asiago roll. It was messy, had a kick, and it was delicious. A home run in my book. My grandmother seemed to like her turkey sandwich, although commented insistently on the size. She only ate half, and left the rest to her husband. This follows her MO pretty closely, so I wouldn’t take it as a knock against the sandwich. As we enjoyed our lunch, we preoccupied ourselves with the admittedly pretty great people watching. The décor in Boho is rather sparse, but the large painting at the end of the café, original to the hotel adjacent, gave the space life. An elderly man, that we suspected might be mentally disabled, in a wheelchair, attended to cleaning tables. After a while, the high-school aged girl that had manned the front counter tried to ask what he wanted for lunch. She went around this in a way that was half-spunk, half-condescending, and entirely entertaining. Along with the many characters that stopped into the café and were treated like friendly regulars, the interactions within the place gave it life and charm. At least, far more lively than the rather uptight Tuckerbox coffee house down the street. I can’t speak to the quality of their coffee, compared to places like Tuckerbox or even Panera, but I do know one thing. In the End Times, when Quetzalcoatl comes and rains down fire on the Earth, or some Roland Emmerich nightmare comes horribly true, I’m comforted by the fact that there’s a café staff out there that will remain calm and serve me a great sandwich with a side of charm, apocalypse be damned.
