Pretty, casual café located in the Greenbrier hotel. It’s a perfect place to lunch with the girls. The café overlooks the casino, which is fun to watch. I had the fried green tomato sand which — my favorite. Then we had huge banana splits and adult milkshakes — with bourbon infused peach goodness. Prices are reasonable– except for the additional 6 percent historical tax they add to everything!

The worst of all of the restaurants at the Greenbriar. Fried chicken dinner was terrible. We paid $ 5 extra for a breast but just got another small thigh. Also barely warm. Do yourself a favor and stay out of there. Better off just driving down to Wendy’s.

Enjoyed a fabulous breakfast. The bacon was thick, juicy, and crisp. The grits were fabulous. The service was excellent.

Decent food at a semi-high price. I realize this is a high-end resort, but $ 21 for a basic burger and fries does not make it high-end food. This is, however, one of the cheaper dining establishments inside the Greenbrier. The service was ok, nothing like that in the main dining room. The décor is screams cotton candy pink. My water glass was left empty throughout the majority of my meal. While I waited to order(almost a 10 min wait) and waited on my food(another 10 mins) and waited on the check(another 10 mins) I watched the waitstaff. It seemed that families and those with children received the better service. On one other note, the dining area is extremely noisy. Don’t plan on holding an intimate conversation with your dining companions. With decent food, an active atmosphere, and high prices, I give Drapers a solid 3 stars. It is a decent restaurant. It is not a five star dining experience.

Delightful experience for the family. What a friendly staff! The food was delicious, and they made sure that our drinks were full the entire time. An extra so in, treat, was that Santa made an unexpected appearance! Loved the décor.

Order the pork pulled nachos! Awesome. We enjoyed lunch on 9÷5÷2014 in this quaint restaurant located in the Greenbrier. Wait staff attentive, decent portions & reasonably priced. We did not indulge in the gelato but it looked great!

Two for breakfast. Our meals were the greasiest we have eaten in many years. Example: one of us ordered basted eggs. They were basted … With oil! The potatoes were soft and saturated with oil/grease. Pricey food which is of poor quality is not a good thing. We certainly will not be back. The service was fine. Definitely not recommended.

Our group had chicken pot pie which is suppose to be excellent, my hamburger and coleslaw was great but over priced. Also chicken salad and BLT was good. Service was good. DECORLOUDANDPROUDSHABBYCHICMEETSOLDHOLLYWOOD. My friend Brunie had her 74th birthday luncheon here.

Very disappointed in the club sandwich. Cold congealed bacon and cold fries. NOT up to prior standards.

Ate at Draper’s while attending the Saints training camp. I got the peach soup as an appetizer and my friends split their nachos. The peach soup was excellent — one of the best things I’ve probably ever eaten. My friends also said the nachos were good. I ordered the ham and brie sandwich too. I’m not sure if something was wrong with the brie but it tasted like it was melted using a kitchen torch and it tasted like kerosene. I would have complained but our server was nowhere to be found and didn’t even comment that he noticed that my sandwich was pulled apart. So now my warning about Drapers(and Greenbrier in general). The tip is already included — 20%…so the service reflects that. General disinterest overall. We had to ask the manager for a refill of iced tea($ 4 each!). And Greenbrier add a «historical preservation» fee onto everything including their already overpriced food. A fee that they NEVER mentioned. The prices were high but you’re at a resort so I didn’t even mind that. All the other fees, the not-so-great food and terrible service were my reason for a low rating. The peach soup however earned Greenbrier an extra star. If you’re attending an even here, you’re better off driving into Lewisburg.

Draper’s has a cool location overlooking the Casino. It’s a bit strange, though, to see so much pink and so many children as dance music is playing in the background. Our experience was marred a bit when our server charged us for 22 martinis rather than the 2 we ordered. The bill(at $ 527.54) seemed a bit high. Fortunately, after a short conversation, she quickly changed the price. The portion size on my stir fry(despite ordering the large) seemed a bit too small. However, my fellow diners were pleased with the flavors and sizes of their meals. Everyone enjoyed their time at Draper’s(most especially my young nieces because of the fresh ice cream on our way out). So, even though our waitress was clearly overwhelmed with the number of tables she had, our time at Draper’s was positive.

Great food and service. Have eaten breakfast and lunch and so far everything has been terrific. Shrimp and grits are a hit, as are the Eggs Benedict. Milk shakes and sundaes are made with the richest creamiest ice cream I’ve ever had.

Décor will literally nauseate you. Food exceedingly average. Crab cakes small, premade small crab boring. It’s like a cafeteria doing medium upscale food. No thanks :(

I was between a 2 and 3, but I’ll round up a bit. I’d never been to the«new» Draper’s down by the casino. The reboot keeps the décor true to the original, and that’s the big draw of Draper’s. We came in for breakfast on our exiting day. It doesn’t open until 11 am, and the breakfasty options are minimal. The menu, as a whole, looked pretty exciting though. The descriptions were mouth-watering, and the salads looked especially creative. I got the build-your-own omelet since I was really jonesin’ for some breakfast. The omelet itself was fluffy and just what I ordered, but I would have appreciated some more creative combination options from the chefs(like a twist on a greek, or gruyère and ham with herbs, etc). It listed breakfast potatoes, asparagus, and marinated tomatoes as sides. The tomatoes were just covered in an oil slick, with a little S&P. The breakfast potatoes were underseasoned and plain. The asparagus were two pathetic, thin spears. Two of my three dining mates got the sweet potato waffle with peaches and pecans. The waffle wasn’t crisp, and the peach and pecan topping was fairly minimal. You know, so… not like it’s horrible or anything. I left full and satisfied. But the price tag is steep. I’ll try not to focus on that too much because I think you have to just kind of accept the higher prices at the Greenbrier, but it does sting a little when the descriptions looked so good and the plates did not deliver. I think, in general, people are used to better food than they were 10 years ago. Our hometowns boast a new era of flavorful-ness. The Greenbrier itself has a fantastic culinary team(the Main Dining Room is amazing), AND they have a local, on-site farm to source their ingredients… so ho-hum«resort food» is a letdown. All I needed was a little chopped thyme and sauteed onions in my potatoes, and some legit marinade on my tomatoes, as advertised. It’s just sad when the improvements are so obvious, and the cost is so high. Ice cream looked really good on the way out!

Good was a pleasant surprise. Very fresh. Organic. It’s like a diner with milk shakes and cupcakes. Very cool. You will get asked what you plan to eat. Desserts only at the counter. Full menu at a table or booth. We had the chicken quesadillas and artichoke dip. Unbelievable food. Red velvet cupcake and apple crisp. Washed down with several cocktails and glasses of wine! Gratuity is automatically included for all services on the property. Fun place. Only downer is it shuts down early.

Went in here and sat at the bar. I ordered a mint milkshake. The first problem was the décor – absolutely awful. Second problem is that the girl taking my order and handling my cash handed her duties off to another girl who then proceeded to give me the wrong change. We got it quickly corrected, but that really put me off. The third problem was the the taste. When people get mint ice cream, they usually get a light sugary mint type flavor. It typically doesn’t taste like real mint, mind you. Well this milkshake tasted like you took the mint plant and ate it. Except cold. God awful. I threw it out and regretted even stepping into this joint.

Dorothy Draper famously outfitted the Greenbrier Resort’s interiors with near-gawdy colors from top-to-bottom. The resort is blessed to occupy such a throwback appearance that any and everybody should make it a stop. But not Draper’s Café. Sorry Greenbrier but the restaurant did nothing for me. First off the service was horrible. Our server gave off such nonchalance vibes that I felt she had at least 3 — 4 other places to go or things to do than take our drink order. The food ordering service was worse and, finally, it took one of us to get the bill. Yup. We had to stand up and leave the table and actually go to the front of the restaurant to pay the bill. Inexcusable. As for the food, it was comme ci comme ca. Very basic with only«era style» names to disguise the plain approach to food creations. And it was limited. My meal was the Fried Green Tomato sandwich and it was a level above average. Others had the smoked ham and brie sandwich(which they did enjoy). Prior to our entrees we had an order of artichoke and spinach dip with crisps. The tiny cup which came out was only enough to serve 3 people meager amounts. Another bummer when it came to the food. I know, I know… the theory behind resort services is get the customer inside the place and then rack up $$$$$ once they’re staying there. Well, Draper’s got our group once but never again. And Draper’s is the low-end dining experience at the Greenbrier Resort. Too bad. Dorothy Draper’s interior design makes you think old and lavish Americana style resort experience… but Draper’s puts the kibosh on dining.

Wonderful place. Wonderful Service! The décor is absolutely awful but who cares? The outstanding and original menu is worth the trip. There were 6 of us and we all tried a different entrée and were all very happy with our food. The one exception would be that the crab cakes are«just ok». I had a shaved ham sandwich on a pretzel roll bun and could get half of it down as it’s just too large. I saved the other half for breakfast before golf. A friend of mine loved the Fried chicken and Waffles. A southern favorite! The shrimp and grits were also well prepared and tasty. Another friend ordered the filet with lump crab meat on top and fried green tomatoes underneath. It was also outstanding. As a treat to myself I ordered a Chocolate Martini for desert and it was perfect. Not too much but just enough to take care of my sweet cravings. The temperature was just right, the service was fast and courteous, and on a Sunday night, there was only a couple of other tables full. Darned Near Perfect!!!

The main thing I do not like about the newly moved and renovated Drapers, are the«chuckee-cheese-castle-world» type of booths they installed. It’s not really the booths themselves, but the wierd little finial posts they placed on the backs of them. ugh. Also, you have to exit the restaurant to find a restroom… but then again, the Greenbrier is FULL of amazing restrooms! There are both men’s and Ladies located on the same floor around the corner from Drapers, beside boutiques. The booths are comfortable and the tables placed along the railing that overlook the casino are a nice place to sit also. Service: Great. Efficient and good attitude Food: Very good. The Kate’s Mountain fried chicken salad was ok, but I ate that before they moved. Recently, the friend green tomatoes were good, the crab sandwich was Great, and the chicken salad which I had put on a pretzel roll was fabulous. Drink: peach tea with ‘sweet water’ [simple syrup served in a little carafe or pitcher]. YUMMO. Dessert: of course the chocolate fudge cake… my husband loves the key lime pie, which is really a tart like thing. He raves about the meringue topping. They don’t take reservations, but the hostess are very accommodating and there are alot of wonderful little niches to sit in if you need to wait.
