We had purchased a number of things from this garden center, which is one of the largest in the Western Catskills. Their prices were a bit steep, but I figured I could trust them. Those good experiences are the reason this is two and not one star. The one star experience were a trio of rose bushes we bought, one of which looked a bit sickly. But the owner himself picked out all three, so I thought we were OK. We weren’t. It had a common rose ailment called«Black Spot.» I only discovered that after we planted them.(Why the black spots, I said to myself. «Common fungus disease» said a zillion sites on the Internet.) Despite applications of antifungal, the disease spread to all three plants. So we’re out of luck. The store sold us a plant that it surely must have known were diseased. I feel taken advantage of and annoyed. I called the store, and the lady there said, basically, it was my problem. Guess it is, but I’m not coming back. It’s a simple question of trust.
