The guys were able to give me an honest assessment of what was going wrong and what wasn’t going wrong. I found them honest and helpful. What I thought was going to be a$ 1000 fix was less than half of that.

It’s hard to find a decent mechanic that’s also fair about prices and not a dick.
Dan of Dans garage at Craigs is a great mechanic. I have him work on all my company cars. His pricing is fair and his work is top notch. His crew there is solid. You know it’s a good shop when you see guys bringing in their muscle cars, classics, and low riders.
I’ve had the guys work on 4 of my cars so far including my Jew Cherokee and my Chevy Silverado.
These are the only guys I will trust to work on my classic cars. Including my 57 Chevy pickup low rider and my cherry 59 Cadillac el dorado.
In summation if you want mechanical work done by some one who knows what they’re doing. Will do it quick and will give you a realistic and fair price. Come to these guys. Ask for Dan or Mike.

Needed a battery for my motor home and a friend suggested Craig’s automotive so I called them and the guy named Mike answered he was very professional and courteous and got my battery within a few hours and a great price too I think I will be going back next time I need something thanks Craig’s automotive

I highly recommend coming here for any work that you need done. Very respectful and professional workers. They do great work and actually know what they are doing. I recommend everyone to them. We always bring our cars to them. Would never think about going anywhere else.

I was first introduced to Craig’s Auto via being brought there [by tow!] through the AAA service. I had a maintenance/​repair place I was relatively happy with… but was quite a distance away. I was very impressed with… how I was treated, the repair job, the fair pricing, and the quick readiness of my vehicle. Mike @ the front desk was particularly helpful, accommodating, thorough, and attentive in seeing that the car repair job that I RETURNED TO THIS SHOP for was taken care of just as well as my first experience. The day was extra hot and it was easy to be edgy, but instead it was a very good overall outcome, and I now consider THIS SHOP to be MY NEW PERSONAL REPAIR SHOP OF CHOICE! ;)

Been coming here for years. Super honest, took my car in and Dan was so kind to let me know that my car had a recall. Instead of fixing it and charging me he advised me to take it to the dealership where it would of be fixed for free. Most repair shops in the area would have charged me the $ 2,800 to fix the problem without telling me about the recall. Most HONEST repair shop in Whittier.

First off want to thank Mike for helping me out with our problem, which ended up being something so minor we felt silly about a it. My mother took her car a 2012 mustang to a convention and car left her stranded. Car wouldn’t start and luckily a man who worked for ford helped her in parking lot, he added the car with electrical issues and stated it might be a number of reasons. Long story short we had car towed to Craig’s and was a simple fix, use the spare because original key wasn’t working and alarm wasn’t being disengaged. Pretty sure any other mechanic shop would have made a laundry list but they were honest and quick. Thanks guys

LOVE LOVE LOVE the work that Dan has done on my 2005 VW very reasonable and did a great job. I am a AAA employee and will and have told lots of people about Craigs Automotive. I came over to Craig’s automotive after learning that my late DMV renewal that I paid for @ triple A also required a smog inspection. I arrived at about 12:50 pm almost one o’clock in the afternoon. Dan the manager of the business said he was already swamped but asked if or rather what I needed I said a smog inspection he asked what year I said 2000 he said I can do that if it had been 99 earlier they take a lot longer and I’ve already got too much work today. I was grateful that he was willing to do my smog inspection at so late in the day and not having made an appointment. he is very friendly and helpful. I’ve gone to him in the past I would recommend getting your car done here. I’m glad I’m finally reviewed it. I’ve been telling myself I’ll do this in the future and of course saying you’ll do something later means you won’t do it. Having 10 to 15 minutes to wait for my car to get smogged allowed me time to write a couple reviews up.

I am updating my review from the previous one. Maybe both of us were having a rough morning. He was busy and I knew I would have to pay a lot for my car.
When he called me back to talk about the car, he was thorough and let me know how long it would take. He was professional.
When I came back to get the car, he was friendlier and we even joked a bit. Like I said, maybe we both were having a rough morning.

This is my second time coming here and they have been great. Cars are a foreign language to me so it helps to come to a place where you trust you aren’t getting ripped off. They are honest about the problem and let you know what the best solutions are. I have interacted with Dan and though is is knowledgable he can come off as rude. What I will say though is that they need someone at the desk at all times. I have come in and found myself waiting for 20+ min for someone to to even ask why I came in. So time accordingly, the earlier the better!

Wow… service what service… I will never come back and it’s sad because the mechanics are good. Owner Dan needs a class on customer service. Rude doesn’t work for me. All I needed was a smog check can’t imagine ever going back.

Very Rude! Older blonde man can’t seem to juggle too many things, drove in for a smog check, stressed out over the fact he had 3 cars ahead of me, instead of asking for me to wait he said he could not handle anymore today and brushed me off. Same non-​sense when I stopped by there a few weeks ago. Never AGAIN!!! Customer service classes needed at this location… jerks!

I’ve been going here for about 10 years now. My main concern with mechanics is ones that recommend unnecessary repairs just to make a buck. I’m always on the lookout for that. These guys never do that. In fact, they often turn down an opportunity to make unnecessary repairs.
Yesterday is a case in point. In December, Perry said my battery should be replaced because it’s 7 years old. Now it’s February, and a couple days ago, I start my car and nothing happens.
I call AAA for a towtruck, and the towtruck driver, thinking he’s a mechanic, tries to jump it (after I tried) and can’t. So he says it sounds like the starter or the ignition wire. He starts banging on it to try to get it started, but nothing happens. So he tows it to Craig’s.
Two hours later, Dan calls me and says it was just the battery, that the starter is fine.
Think about it. I was ready to pay for a new battery AND a new starter. He could have easily gotten away with that. But no. If the starter is okay, he’s not going to replace it just to make a few bucks. In fact, Craig’s has proven itself to me in this way a number of times. That’s why I trust them.

Used them for years and little by little I noticed they seemed too comfortable. They took for granted that we would never go anywhere else. We brought our 3 cars there for years.
Had all 4 brakes on wifes car done. 6, months later the rear brakes started grinding. Toom it in and they said the warranty expired and it need rear brakes for $ 500. When I told them to put the wheel back on and forget it they called back and said we were good customers and would do the job for $ 340, but just this 1x. I couldn’t believe the arrogance. Paid them the minimum 1 hour charge and left. Few months later they called to find out where we were taking the car. Told them to F off and hung up.
If you want a very honest and very good mechanic go to Freds on Telegraph Rd. 6 years now and never ever a complaint. They are great.
