In Step Massage

Clean, serene and unpretentious space in Whittier. My masseuse, Sam is awesome. I like a strong deep tissue massage. The kind that leaves your body feeling lost as you exit, sore the next day and back to renewal on the third day. That is exacly what I got.
The front desk staff was super sweet. Sam got a work out as he worked on my sore shoulders and legs. I was so high on cloud 9 I miss tipped him and after a minute in the car I came back in to apologize and tip him properly. They got a laugh and said that happens alot.
Will be coming by at least once a month, thank you Sam!

Full body massage. I came out feeling like new

This is my fav foot massage place. Everyone who massages here is great– they all use the same technique.

Have had several of the massages and you get SO much for what you pay for. It’s been some of the best massages that I have ever received. So glad that we were able to run into this little place it is truly a little gem.
Pricing is fair and rooms are nice and clean.

Besides sucking, this place stinks! literally! I could not believe the smell! I invited my significant other to come along as a treat and was so embarrassed! My jeans were too tight and they requested me to change to which they provided me with shorts; it was really dark so i couldn’t see what was given to me. Once in the changing room i realized they had given me some basketball shorts that had been worn. They stank!!! This place was really a nightmare. This place was recommended by a co-​worker, when i told her about my experience; she said «did you expect Beverly HIlls treatment». WOW! In Step Massage if you’re reading. I was there yesterday at 8:30pm!

I just had an amazing full body massage for $ 40 from Mandy. She started off softly with effleurage and then slowly worked deeper into my muscles which felt amazing. She focused a lot of time on my back where the majority of my tightness was. I love getting a massage with a lot of oil which is what she did. She used hot stones and massage them around my back and arms which felt amazing and then place them on my spine where it felt like it was healing me from within. She is definitely a healer by nature, you won’t regret! This is now my favorite foot massage place in orange county. The office looks professional unlike the other foot massage businesses. It is very open and uncrowded in very welcoming.

I’m aware that there are different types of massages and techniques but that was not problem. He was all over the place he would jump around body parts but yet he somehow skipped my arms and feet. He disappears 3 times and the the 3^rd time for over five minutes to speak to someone. I ask him to please not leave and he acted like he did not understand English. It’s sad because I had heard many good things about this place but after this experience, I do not recommend this place.

30-​min foot 30 min full body for $ 30 plus tip is a great deal and definitely worth the price. My masseuse «Amy» was excellent. Definitely worth the visit.

I’ve been to in step massage three times now. Each time I have gotten a different service package and they have all been great. They are open every day of the week and open until 10 pm which makes it convenient to come in. Park in the back.
You don’t need an appointment they happily take walk ins. I’m glad I found this little gem it’s worth penny.

My massage was good and the lady was nice BUT I will never return solely based on the way they treat you at then end of your massage. I went in with my boyfriend and my massage was over before his. The lady followed me out to the reception area, stared at me while I put on my shoes, and stood in front of me staring without saying a word for about 5 minutes til my boyfriend was out. I know she wanted a tip, but we paid in advance and added the tip BEFORE the massage and I guess the front desk didn’t tell her? IDK. Anyway, as we were walking out, I hear the receptionist tell the lady that we had already paid the tip, and she just walked away. So uncomfortable and extremely awkward!

Hit or miss kind of place. You get what you pay for. I’ve had really good massages here and awful ones. They have a hot stone massage that’s pretty soothing, given the therapist knows what they’re doing. You also get $ 20 off if you use their rewards card and buy 10 massages. They also provide cold water or hot tea after your massage.
Today I opted for an hour foot reflexology massage. I asked my massage therapist not to smack me (a lot of places give you good pats that feel more like slaps) and she forgot halfway through and started slapping me. I pulled away and she did it again so I had to remove my eye cover and remind her.
Her nails were not short and she kept scratching me even after I told her she was hurting me. She didn’t use enough lotion or oil on my feet so I could feel the friction of the gloves against my skin and that kind of grossed me out. I come here often but this therapist massaged like maybe she didn’t know what she was doing.
Normally I would give this place about a 4 but with my experience today I have to give them only 2 stars.

Went here for my first massage, enjoyed it very much. Wasn’t aware on the fact that we had to tip, but made sense since the prices were so cheap. Anyways as I was walking out (Wasn’t aware of the tip rule at the moment) they locked the doors and wouldn’t let me out till I tipped. Very barbaric but funny at the same time. Could have asked me for the tip in a normal way but it is what it is.

The massage it self, is great. I only got the lower tear one to test it out, and it blew me away. Cindy was the lady who massage me and she was great. I will be back I told her., for the full body massage.

Every time I ordered a foot massage I actually got foot and body massage!

I am on the fence on how to write this review because a part of me loves it and the other part of me can’t help but think of the movie Taken with their little «rooms.» It’s a terrible comparison because they are super clean and they look nothing like the movie, but I don’t know… I feel like I am going to get prostituted once that little curtain closes.
Anyways, all bad comparisons aside, this place is pretty legit. Word of caution, if you are body shy, spare yourself and don’t opt for a back massage. I can’t speak for everyone but my pants have been pulled half way down my ass every single time I’ve been here. I should have freaked out of having my bare ass exposed but I feel more sorry for the lady massaging me for having to see it. They also climb on top of you… yea…

I usually get the $ 30 option which is 30 minute foot massage and 30 minute back. When asked if you want medium or hard say LIGHT because it get’s intense. They also give you this awesome scalp massage before your foot massage that is bomb dot com. They soak your feet like they would for a pedicure and they massage your legs. For someone that wears heels 99.9% of the time, it doesn’t get better.
For the back massage, they bring you into those little rooms and they use hot stones as well. All embarrassing stuff aside, it is pretty relaxing, the first time I came I literally sat in my car all stupid after.
Every time I’ve been here the ladies have been friendly and have taken their time. I usually call ahead so going in is breezy. I’ve never actually been here on a busy time so I’ve never had to be in a room full of people. Tops, there has been one other person in the room and this last time my sister was there with me. Overall, this is an inexpensive, clean, and professional to get a massage. No happy endings tho… at least not that I know ;)

UPDATE:
So after my previous experience, I received an email from the owner/​manager of In Step Massage stating that myself and my friend were entitled to a free massage due to our terrible experience. So last night, I go into In Step Massage and I make mention of the owner/​manager and the same receptionist who was extremely unprofessional last time, said that there was never a person that worked there with that particular name. At this point, I am extremely frustrated and I warn people, DO NOT GO HERE. They have great massages, but the experience is TERRIBLE.
I had a very good massage here, but also had a terrible experience with their customer service. I went to pay for a massage for someone else there and when paying for it, I tipped $ 6 which is a 15% tip. Very standard. The lady had the nerve to tell me that they usually ask for a $ 10 tip. I told her that $ 6 was all I was giving. When the person that I sent there finished her massage, they lied to her and told her that I didn’t tip AT ALL and asked her for a $ 10 tip. Very unprofessional. I will NEVER come here again.

Foot spas pop up faster than Starbucks these days (which is pretty difficult to fathom), appearing on a block near you.
Well, maybe I’m grossly exaggerating but with so many places advertising inexpensive foot and body massages, how can you possibly know for certain that you’ll actually have a positive experience?
In the past, I’ve fallen victim to shoddy massage by careless therapists at two separate businesses. The last time I had a bad massage, I was left with two injured knees. Trust me, it’s no fun!
Another concern many have with these types of establishments is whether they provide «additional services» (wink, wink).
Have no fear, friends, In Step Massage is a legitimate spot to have some knots rubbed out of your back and assist in relieving those tense neck and shoulders. You’ll also leave here feeling like you’re walking on clouds!
I’ve been here 4 times now and each time, In Step’s therapists have upped their game. Their massage technique and routine are consistent and they seem to have managed to convince their therapists to apply more pressure (a far cry from my first visit when it felt like a sock puppet massage, lol)!

Your derrière will be subject to some rigorous manhandling!
It’s a fairly simple process:
— Make reservation
— Park in rear (leads to Reception Counter… don’t enter from Washington Blvd)
— Pay the cashier fee for desired service (s)
— Follow to massaging area or private massage room (don’t worry, no happy endings here!)
— Take off shoes, sweaters, and remove items from pocket, placing in plastic bin
— Soak feet in tub and lie on massage bed (don’t be afraid to ask from firmer or softer pressure)
— Wait an hour
— Tip your therapist
$ 20 Hour Foot Massage + $ 20 Tip = 1 Happy Customer
I generally tip well because at many of these establishments, therapist work for tips alone.
In Step Massage is easily my #3 overall spot for foot massage! It’s money well spent. You owe it to your feet!

Quiet, Dark and soft music playing. Looked clean and smelled nice as well. They take walk ins but appointments are sometimes advised so they can attend you faster.

I walked in and they seemed sweet and friendly. They asked if we wanted our own room or same room. We asked for same room. Typical get undressed type of place knocked and asked if we were ready. I love that she asked me if HARD was okay or MEDIUM obviously I had horrible back knots that needed some taming so I said hard and it was indeed rough but amazing at the same time!
Trust when I say it is such a great place here!
The parking is in the back as well they give you water before or after.
Definitely coming here again!
