Cute store. Welcoming. Novelty items a little pricey but worth it. It’s in a great location uptown Whittier my favorite spot. This store is perfect to shop for that special someone.

I absolutely love this place! I found it after going to a Unilocal Elite event a few years back. It also made me fall a bit for Uptown Whittier but that’s another story. It wasn’t until I needed to find Christmas gifts for an eccentric, sarcastic girl recently that I remembered this place. It was a great choice.
Local Fixture has a wonderful hipster feel without the manufactured pretentiousness usually linked with hipster culture (think Urban Outfitters). Every thing has character, from the displays to the people working here. That’s what makes this place wonderful. You can spend 20 — 30 minutes just wandering around the store and each inspection would bring up a fascinating person in your life you could gift.
The thing that really sealed the deal for me was as I finished purchasing my gifts they asked if I wanted the items gift wrapped. I was happily surprised and said, «Sure!» They wrapped the **** out of my gifts! Using gold wrapping paper and red ribbon I was blown away by the beauty and quality of their work. So much so I returned the next day to ask if they could wrap some gifts I bought from a different store. I loved the aesthetics of their wrapping paper and wanted it for everything. They were happy to oblige and I even got to have an interesting conversation with the workers about how they became so skillful and what they thought of the area. It was great.
All in all I would gladly return here again for both the range in merchandise and the company of the people. I highly recommend coming here if you too are looking for a truly unique store with charisma and class.

What a find!!! Could have spent $ 100’s in there! Staff was very helpful and found gifts for the entire family! Some price points were higher than I liked but the quality is top notch!!! Will definitely come back over and over again!

Visually the store is VERY appealing from the overall look and feel of the store to the actual employees. Toss in the fact that this seems to be the only place in Uptown Whittier to get a nice COLD BREW coffee and I am sold.
Employees always make good recommendations (even though they may have never used a product) case in point I bought some beard balm and the employee helping me was some smooth baby faced kid he was rather helpful and knew the product though. I ended up digging the Beard Balm (Uppercut Beard Balm) so since then I have been back.
Its really Urban Outfitter-​esque except I don’t feel like a d-​bag when I walk out of there.

Finally a cute boutique that’s not at a mall! I’m a person who loves supporting small businesses… And even more a small business that understands their community. As a Santa Fe Springs/​Whittier resident I appreciate the detail LF has put in to their store to make their residents feel welcome… Everything from the pool table, the kids corner to Stumpton coffee! The environment is Anthropologie meets Urban Outfitters meets The Ace Hotel meets the culture of the current 20 – 30 something’s of our neighborhood. Highly recommend this shop if you’re strolling through uptown or if you need a great gift idea.

Great store, I always find the perfect gift for friends and family. I bought my son a beautiful black leather & canvas duffle bag for a graduation gift and I’ve bought numerous candles. Their candles have a long burning time. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend this store for anyone who likes good quality products and unique gifts. The store esthetics is beautifully done… very warm and inviting.

This place is Awsome! It’s an experience honesty! I love all the cool stuff they have… Prices are a little above average but amazing quality… Jason and David are cool brothers !

There comes a point in every relationship when you outgrow the obligatory gift card and start buying some more personalized gifts!
I was walking around Uptown Whittier, casually strolling past various stores and saw Local Fixture. Their display caught my eye and I made my way in.
It definitely has some hints of the store, Anthropologie, but without the large price tags. It’s a large space with loads of gift ideas. The home cook can get unique cookbooks, the expectant mommy can get some baby clothes, the gentleman in your life can try out some skin care, the little kid in your life can get some books or stuffed animals; yup, there’s something for everybody!
You get a gift! You get a gift! You get a gift!
Somehow that doesn’t have the same oomph as when Oprah gave away all those cars. Oh well!
I cleaned up on cards, a couple cookbooks and unique gifts for some friends.
They offer delivery, but check to see if you’re within their area.

Hands down one of the best stores in Whittier. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They are always doing in store events that really gets the community involved. The store itself is beautiful and they carry an assortment of unique items for the whole family. If you haven’s had a chance to visit the Local Fixture I suggest you do so as soon as you can.
If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Antropologie meets Urban Outfitters? The previous reviewer couldn’t be more correct!
I came in here looking for some stocking stuffer type gifts for my boyfriend and I’m glad I did. I was looking for some socks and had way more than enough to choose from!
Their selection of men hair grooming caught my eye and I knew I wasn’t leaving without some pomade, too bad I knew absolutely nothing about which to pick. The employees were extremely helpful though, and I am happy with what they helped me select!
This a great place to stop in and find some unique gifts for anyone big or small. The 10% with check in helps too, so remember to use it.

This store is a hidden gem! So many cute little trinkets. Think anthropology meets urban outfitters.
My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Friday night while waiting for a dinner reservation. The boys working were super sweet, offering help if needed.
I was really drawn to some of their great scented candles, cute original birthday cards and an amazing jewelry table. Everything is reasonably priced and if you check in on Unilocal they’ll give you a 10% discount!
I purchased an adorable necklace which I haven’t taken off since I bought it! Love.

Great place to buy quality products. It’s often difficult to buy great gift items in our area, so LF is our go to place when we are short on time and can’t trek it to Pasadena. From cards, to sunglasses, candles, wallets, and baby items, this is one stop shopping. The other half even purchased a great Bellroy wallet he had been eying online, but hadn’t had the time to go see the selection in person at the department stores. The piano player is also a nice touch! Service is cool and parking is convenient. Do yourself a favor, check it out, and grab some libations while you’re there.

My sister and I wondered in one day after eating sushi next door and I immediately fell in love with the place! They have the cutest things from candles to socks to books and cards that you won’t find anywhere else.
A few weeks later, as the awesome procrastinator that I am, I found myself back here because I was on my way to one of my sorority sister’s baby shower. I remembered they had baby stuff and of course I wasn’t disappointed. I found THE cutest baby outfit in the universe of baby outfits and at a very affordable price. I pride myself on being the most stylish auntie so of course I snatched it up.
The girl at the register was super nice but I fell in love with her when she asked me if she could wrap the gift. She totally saved my butt from making a trip to Target (I said I was the most stylish aunt not necessarily the most organized.)
Overall, this place is the bees knees! This will definitely be my gift shop from now on! And everyone at the party loved my gift. Yup, I am the ish!

Awesome spot where you’ll find fancy candles, lotions, and manly man grooming items.
I came across this store because I was looking for FULTON & ROARK solid cologne. It was worth my drive across town in afternoon traffic!

For reasons beyond my control, I am not allowed into gift stops and stores that sell trifling things. Urban Outfitters, Ikea, Spencer’s Gifts and Things Remembered definitely come to mind. I am especially banned from the Ikea in Costa Mesa, but I’ll save that tale for another review. You see – I have this problem with tacky knick knacks that make my skin itchy… so itchy that it pushes me to the point of disrobing and performing a particular motion as if I have a hula hoop around me. Hold a mug that says «#1 Dad»? I kick off the shoes. Open up a funny greeting card with a catch phrase about Kevin Sorbo? Dress shirt gets unbuttoned. Touch the velvety finish of a dogs playing poker tapestry? The pants come off and the gyrating force around my pelvis becomes unstoppable.
But this store charges with a battlecry like no other. Local Fixture’s front line is strong versus my need to get naked and flanking maneuvers. The cheesiness that typical gift shops often have is a fallacy not found here. While you can’t procure a neon pink blow up love seat here, you will find Filson brand here, classic Americana that comes in the form of luggage. Shelves of the singing salmon flopping on wooden plaques? None. Tables are instead arranged with novelty children’s books. No «Over the Hill» gag gifts to give to your grandma here. Just, uh, some barber grade products for the hipster beards and leather goods for smartphone fanatics.
If it isn’t apparent through my ramblings, I deem this shop worth its weight in charm through its instantaneous patine, the endless cornucopia of items and a welcoming atmosphere that could have you loitering for hours.
The variety of goods Local Fixture sell did have me questioning just what kind of store it should be classified as. How can you call this place a mere gift shop when it resonates sophistication balanced with not taking itself too seriously? The answer came from a tall handsome Asian man that spoke with a youthful yet all knowing tone. I’m talking 90s Russell Wong here. I was whisked away by his banter of what exactly «dry goods» are and their rich history amongst Medieval marketplaces and Tunisian arcades. His posture and sagacious voice were quite convincing. Then he delved into another topic – something about fan fiction. I had to walk away fast to preserve the pristine image I have of this store. Until next time.
