Smokey Joe’s Chimney Sweep

We had our two fireplaces checked and were very happy with their service. They fixed a broken damper, sealed cracks in the firebox, and repaired the gas starter pipe. Received many knowledgeable suggestions on improving our wood and gas burning fireplaces. All in all, impressed with their service and pricing, will use again for a spring cleaning.

We scheduled a chimney cleaning several weeks ago, and due to rain it was postponed from 5 days ago until today (Sunday). Cameron just left after spending at least an hour explaining fireplace use and safety, types of wood to burn, and inspecting our fireplace and chimney. He determined that all is well, and get this-​all at NO CHARGE! He explained that if no work is needed, they perform the inspections as a service to the community. And this is done at no charge. Period. We couldn’t have been more shocked! And pleased-​his manner was so polite, helpful, and professional, and he interacted nicely with our 3-​year-​old grandson. Thank you Cameron and Smokey Joe’s!

Smoky Joe just left and I had to go straight to Unilocal to post this review. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. You can tell he’s got years of experience. Had some great ideas for how to make our fireplace/​chimney more efficient and more attractive. Best part, he showed up in a top hat that really amused our 2-​yr old daughter. Definitely recommend his service and will have him back asap to execute some of those cool ideas.

Joe arrived on time. He’s a likable, down to earth guy. I loved the booties he put on his shoes as to not to track dirt in during his inspection. He was my #2 choice. But, I decided not to make him my number one choice because he said one thing I didn’t agree with regarding the smoke chamber compared to what 3 other companies said and what I researched online. However, I will definitely consider using him for any future needs!

Repeat customer for smokey joe and I still have nothing but good things to say. He was very honest and shared with me that I wasn’t yet due for a cleaning. He reattached a metal portion of my chimney and cut down my old antennas free of charge. Great guy. Highly recommend him

He did an inspection, cleaning, adjusted my damper & gave me helpful advice on improving my fireplace. The added bonus was finding the thank you note with the chimney sweeper, lucky penny, & poem.

From my very first phone conversation with Stephanie to the completion of the installation of my new gas logs with all the trimmings, was such an awesome and rewarding experience to work with someone who takes pride in their work, knowledgeable, professional and personable. I learned all about fire pits, gas logs, gas lines and, yes, even remote control for gas log sets. Yes, I don’t have to use matches anymore to light my fireplace. Great business with true honesty. Called Smokey Joe’s to clean a dryer vent because it wouldn’t dry the wet clothes. They determined it wasn’t dirty but that there may be a break in the vent line. Smokey Joe’s didn’t even charge me. They could have easily told me they cleaned it and charged me for it. This is a great business with great people. I would definitely recommend them and use Smokey Joe’s again.

We love Smokey Joe’s and we love Joseph Maholick! What a wonderful experience. Our dryer duct (inside the wall, from dryer to outside vent) was completely clogged from twenty years of venting and pooled water. Joseph blew out the soggy lint mess and stagnant water, and then took the time to hose down and clean up the area. He restored the duct to perfect working order and now our clothes dry in fifty minutes instead of fifty-​thousand minutes. Joseph even taught us a little bit about plant care while he worked! A kind, conscientious and knowledgeable man, he’s a delightful throwback to days when hard work and good character meant something. We’re as lucky as lucky can be to have found this chimney sweep.
