Steps Of Gold

My family has been with Steps of Gold dance studio for many years. I must say the love and passion that the Director Ms Alicia has for her students and not to mention her culture is impressive. My once very shy daughter has definitely come out of her shell, performing the beautiful dances of Mexico in front of an audience with confidence and pride. The Instructors take pride in what they teach and ALWAYS conduct themselves professionally. The tuition is very reasonable and the costumes are gorgeous! No matter what your social economic background or nationality it is a diverse establishment. I must say Ms Alicia has made a name for herself and is very much respected in the community.

First time I saw Steps of Gold was at the Placita Olvera day of the dead amazing show, I got a flyer from one of the dancers and decided to take my daughter to try a free class, we stayed ever since it’s been about 4 yrs! Time flies when you’re surrounded by great people the instructors are very caring, and professional. Just last summer my oldest joined the samba team I have seen a great improvement in her, from not wanting to go to school to becoming a B average student (proud mom) and I know it’s because the love she feels for dancing and Steps of Gold and all of the instructors and the great friends she has made Thank You Miss Alicia and all of your team for being the caring and professional team you are!

Love this studio! My daughter has now been in this company for a year, and she dances like a professional! The costumes are so elaborate! Every single instructor is amazing! And Ms. Alicia the director is even more amazing! They have had so many great shows in so many places! My daughter loves being a part of this wonderful family and thanks to this company Flokorico has turned into her love and passion!

My family has been with the studio for many years and now my kids are dancing here. The instructors are professional and good with the kids. My kids are not just learning about their culture but other valuable traits like confidence and teamwork.

My daughter has been dancing since she was 3 yrs. She started at the typical city recreation classes. She wasn’t taught technic. We have been to three other studios. Most places teach «follow along» instruction. Most places are not organized, have hidden charges, poor quality instruction, and cheap costumes. NOT true at Paso de Oro. The instruction is excellent and professional. Ms Alicia is by far the best! The business is well established and organized. My daughter is so happy and I am relieved that I have finally found a professional instructor who has accepted my daughter as one of her own.

My daughter has now been part of this dance company for the past year. I couldn’t be happier. Ms. Alicia and Ms Erica are very patient with their class. They demand perfection of their students and when the show starts, the artist and performers do as expected. They perform as professionals. I’m very happy with this place.

My daughter and I joined Paso de Oro five years ago. I can’t believe where the time has gone. I have enjoyed it so much. It has been such a phenomenal experience for our entire family.
Ms Alicia, Miss Erica, Miss Melissa and Mr. Gabriel welcomed Sage with open arms. My daughter is a beautiful blend of cultures — Guatemalan, Belizean, Mexican and African-​American. Whereas other studios were a little hesitant to accept us, Ms Alicia and the Steps of Gold Studio team warmly embraced us and we have been part of this phenomenal PDO family ever since.
Our dance company is probably one of the most diverse groups in the LA area and because of this incredible blend of nationalities the dancers are AMAZING! The caliber of dancing and showmanship is out of this world. Joining this studio is possibly one of the best decisions I made. My daughter’s confidence has grown leaps and bounds. She is no longer shy but a total social butterfly and friends with everyone — no judgements. Sage is always the first to volunteer to speak in front of her class at school and has received an A on every presentation. Last year, she volunteered to dance a solo routine in front of her entire school for International Culture Day and Ms Alicia took time out of her day to be there for Sage — as a parent this is Priceless! I can’t say enough about Ms Alicia and her team. They are simply the best!

My mom and I watched their performance last week… the entire school, from young to old, danced. We loved it! I had never seen a dance school performance, and some dancers definitely seemed to dance better than the students they are — at a professional level.
I enjoyed the little ones so much! They have 2 year olds dancing, even if the only thing they can do is shake their hands.
There was a couple that performed several times, and this is a duo that we thought had some professional background to them! So lovely to watch.
It was great that they mixed adult, youth, and kids in order of performance, so they didn’t give you all the young ones first or the adults grouped together.
