I strolled into this store while walking up and down Greenleaf on my son’s birthday. The style of clothing is not what I would wear at this stage of my life but the store owner definitely gets props for friendliness and being attuned to his clientele. As soon as we walked in the door he changed the music to Brendan Wood’s «Oogum Boogum». Now that’s what I call knowing your customer because he sure had my number! If this is your style of clothing and accessories pay a visit. I’m sure you will get hooked up.

Great new store in Uptown! No more driving all over the place for Pendeltons, Doc Martins, TUKs, Winos, or Levis! Really cute heels and wedges are also sold here. They also sell cool t’s, tanks and hoodies designed by local artists. If your into bikes, choppers, customs, classics, bombs, lowriders etc… you’ll find something you’ll love here! There are local artist on site to pinstripe items you bring in or buy in store! You can also buy framed prints from Lucky Hellcat and DA Garcia! Personally, I could do all my Christmas shopping in here. From purses, wallets, art, clothing, and accessories, there’s something to put a smile on everyones face. I came in for thier open house event and was blown away with awesomeness that they have to offer! Looking forward to coming back in and stocking up! The Lowdown in Uptown is exactly what Uptown Whittier needed!

This is not a something for everyone type of store. The apparel is definitely niche with a definite appeal to the urban Eastside Chicano scene. Unless you don this style of garb from shoes, shirts, caps that say«beers and titties» most with the«LowDown» label, then you probably won’t find much for you to spend some cash on. There’s seems to be a crowd that will patronize this new uptown establishment, along the lines of patrons of Tattoo shops and niche clothing apparel. It remains to be seen if there will be a market for Low Down in the Uptown shopping scene.
