The Taco Bar

The Taco Bar is awesome! We booked them for a 40^th Birthday Party and Vic arrived on time, ready to serve up some quality tacos with a smile! I’m not sure what was better the food or the excellent service! I ordered the Carnitas, Carne Asada and the Chicken tacos with fresh pinto beans and rice for 50 people. There was plenty of food cooked fresh and delicious salsas and grilled onions. The meat was quality! No grizzle or fat, tender and perfectly seasoned! All the guests complimented on how delicious and grizzle free the tacos were! And the rice! So good!!! But Vic was the best! So easy to work with, fun and mingled with our group! I can’t wait for my next gathering! I think he may have to be a part of them all! He cleaned up after! Plus if there is any food left over he gives you it since you paid for it! Super great guy, Excellent food & Service!

We had The Taco Bar cater a church event and were really pleased at the customer service, the quality for the money, and the speed at which they were able to serve a large group. We were able to order both burgers and tacos with sides and drinks. Would use again.

I hired this company for my nephews birthday party… Super kid-​friendly. They catered for over 100 people… Samuel was amazing.. I recommend this company.

I used these guys yesterday for a going away party for my son and I have to tell you how pleased I am with EVERYTHING about this company. The service, the young men that served, the food was so yummy and the price was really affordable for what we got!!! Thank you taco bar! I will def use you guys again!!!

I just had the taco bar cater for my work function and everyone said they love them. They got there on time and set it up and we’re ready before everyone got to the event. Michael and Marcos were our cooks and they were super friendly. The meat was good not full of fat the chicken need a little bit more flavor but was not fatty. The rice and beans were good and they said they weren’t made with lard. The veggies that we ordered as well were delicious and the 2 different types of salsas weren’t too spicy which is great for my event. I’m definitely calling them back from my husband’s 30^th birthday.

On 2÷14÷14 I scheduled the taco bar for my mom’s 50^th birthday party on ²⁄₂₂ As requested, I paid a $ 50 deposit via paypal the same day that I scheduled them (²⁄₁₄). They told me that they would be there at 6:00pm to begin serving at 7:00pm.
On the night of the party, I waited until 6:20pm for somebody to show up or even call, but neither happened. I finally ended calling at 6:30pm and spoke to the owner who had none of my information for the party, but he saw my paypal receipt in his email! I guess that was all that mattered to him?
Anyway, he said he didn’t know what happened to the drivers and took all of my info down and my order (types of meat and beans for the party) and said he would call me back. He called me back about 15min later and told me that the truck that was en route to our party was in a car accident. I felt bad for them, but he said he hadn’t spoken to his workers… that he had called chp and they said that there was an accident and it sounded like his truck. Hmm… okaaaay. He said he would make the food for the 50 guests we had invited, but he wouldn’t be able to make the carnitas that we ordered because it would take too long… so we changed our order to asada, al pastor, and chicken.
The owner called me two more times telling me that he was on his way two different times. He also told me that he would give me $ 50 off this event and free fish tacos if we hire him again.
Finally around 8:00pm two of his workers showed up… not the owner like he had said. Around 8:30 they started to serve us our asada, chicken, and CHORIZO tacos. Chorizo?! Wth?! They swore it was al pastor, but my whole Mexican family was asking why we were given chorizo tacos. It was just greasy chorizo in a tortilla… with a side of rice and cold beans.
By 9:30pm they told is that they had ran out of asada. Really?! Now we have a choice between bland chicken or greasy chorizo?! We called the owner to complain and he tried to explain that asada always runs out first. Umm… that would make sense if 50 people were there at the time. Some of our guests hadn’t even eaten yet!
When it was time for them to leave, we only gave them what we felt they deserved…$ 150 which with the $ 50 I out down would be $ 200…for them being two hours late, not having carnitas or pastor, cold beans, and serving us chorizo.
Around midnight, the cops showed up to our door because the owner had called the cops demanding more money. He then started to lie about what they served then said he knew it was chorizo. He also said he still hadn’t spoken to his workers that had supposedly gotten into an accident… super fishy. He kept insisting that the only discount he would give us would be for the next time we use them. Umm… no…we are NOT using you again so we don’t need a future discount. We ended up giving him only an extra $ 100 because he wouldn’t stop arguing in front of the cops.
Terrible experience with them. Awful.

excellent food and service, hired them for my brother and sister in laws baby shower, Victor and his staff set up promptly arrived on time and the price was very reasonable, they catered to 70 people and everyone said the food was delicious, we look forward to using your service again. thank you. The Taco Bar catered our housewarming party about a week ago and the neighbors are all still talking about how fantastic the food was! I called approximately 5 «Taco-​Man» type of catering companies and was not very impressed with any of them although there were one or two that I was contemplating going with. My last call was to The Taco Bar and within the first minute, I knew that I had found what I was looking for. Not only priced competitively, they really had everything I was looking for: three choices of meat, multiple salsa’s, chips, guacamole (extra), rice & beans and they were even able to accomodate my request for some vegeterian options which was great! I was also very impressed about their knowledge of food safety and limitations for how long food can be kept out before it is no longer good. On the day of the event, two guys showed up on time and did a great job of setting everything up and having the food ready to go at the time we had planned for. The two guys were very professional and many of the guests at our party were very impressed with the overall set-​up and of course, the tastiness of the food. To top it all off, the two guys helped to pack up all of the leftovers for us and did a great job of cleaning up. We had a party planned for 40 guests and we had 40 people show up and there was more than enough food to go around. We even had a secondary taco party the next day so our neighbors could come back over and help us with the leftovers! Kudos to The Taco Bar, we’d use them again and I’d highly recommend them to anybody. Believe me, I’m not one to spend the time to Unilocal all of my experiences but when one deserves it like these guys do, that’s the least I can do! CG

I was throwing my son an 18^th Birthday party and due to some last minute changes I had to find other arrangements for the food. It was Labor Day weekend and I was calling around and everyone was either booked or way over priced. So, I hopped on the Internet, Googled Taco Guy near Whittier and up comes The Taco Bar. I read their reviews, looked at their site and decided to give them a call. Victor was very helpful, the price was right and best of all, he made himself and his crew available. They arrived on time, were VERY clean, super friendly and the food was great! My guests loved it, and as a matter of fact, I still have a few raving about it. I WILL use them again. If you are looking for a reliable, fast, clean and reasonably priced taco guy, look no further than The Taco Bar.

We used The Taco Bar on June 1 2013 for a housewarming party. I researched many taco caterers and kept seeing mixed reviews for all of them, most alarmingly reviews that said the caterer failed to show up! So, I was very concerned about making the right choice. I came across this business and while there was only one review it was a very positive review plus they stress in their website that there are no hidden costs. I called and spoke to Victor. He was very patient and accommodating with my questions etc. I chose my package… complete with some grilled vegetables for vegeterians at no extra cost (!). That was all there was to it. I got a confirmation email a few days before the event (I made the required $ 50 deposit beforehand to hold the reservation). They (2 terrific employees) showed up even earlier than the specified time and got busy doing their thing. The food was fantastic! Everyone loved the tacos, beans, rice etc! I can’t wait to use them again!

Hired them for our son’s first birthday and the food was great. It was a horrible windy day at the park but they pulled through with making sure everything was fully cooked and served warm for our guest. I completely forgot about possibly having left overs and luckily they provided us with tupperware which was great because we probably would have had to throw the food away. Thank you Taco Bar! Look forward to working with you again!
