Great tastes, but the service is lacking for such a small spot. Wait staff seems disorganized and it took over 25 minutes to receive the check after asking for it. One of the better sushi spots in North Texas, but it could have been a better experience.

Visited first time tonight hoping for an affordable snack basically. I was craving sushi and planned that the meal was only going to cost $ 15 at most. Well, it was definitely over $ 15. First of all, service is good. Waitress was very sweet and nice. We were actually assisted by 2 waitresses. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all when we arrived. Very cool atmosphere and décor. We really liked the way they set the place up. Keep in mind it is a small restaurant, so when it gets busy it can feel claustrophobic easily. Second, the prices are a little too high for the food. While you get 6 – 8 pieces per roll, still the tab can get expensive real quick. On average, each roll costs $ 5-$ 8 each. It didn’t help that I ordered Thai tea as my beverage which costed $ 4 alone. The food alone did taste really good. We ordered 2 veggie rolls and 2 others with salmon as the fish. But still wasn’t worth $ 32 when we ordered 2 drinks and 4 rolls of sushi. Overall, this visit was okay. Before we left, the live piano music began and that helped set the environment beautifully. We’re not sure whether or not we will return since the ticket was pretty expensive for as little as we ordered. 3 stars because of the price.

The ambiance was eh. When we came in it was extremely dark and we sat in the one place that had a little bit of light. We ordered water, and it was straight out of the faucet. Like literally, I heard her put ice in the cups and then the faucet water ran and you could hear the cups filling up. Gross. Can I not even have filtered water? This place is good and had decent sushi, but is majorly overpriced. The sushi was basically falling apart every time I tried to grab it with my chopsticks. One small size of fried rice(6 oz) was $ 6.99! Like are you serious? I felt like I was completely jipped out of my money. I won’t be back. Go to samurai for a better all around food and prices.

I had the Sexy Roll & the Asia Roll. They were both amazing, I loved them. Definitely top 2 best sushi in Wichita Falls, and overall great quality. My wife had chicken teriyaki and fried rice. It was also very good… I know because I finished it for her. I loved everything we got. The ambiance was great, too bad it’s a smaller venue. They had live music that Friday evening and it’s wasn’t too bad at all. The place was clean and like most sushi bars, was vibrantly colored. I really enjoyed the customer service, they were really on top of it as well. My wife asked for no shrimp in the fried rice and one of the waitresses came out and went the extra mile to ensure she wasn’t allergic to shellfish to prevent cross contamination. The only down side is the price. It can get pretty expensive pretty fast. Keep track of what you’re ordering before you spend more than you want to. Also, I sat there at the end of our meal and asked for the check twice, each time they acknowledged and then immediately left. I assumed they were going to get the check. The third time another waiter came up and informed me that I pay at the register. It caught me off guard because of how nice the interior is. It didn’t seem like somewhere that they didn’t bring you the check. Anyway, the experience was good. Overpriced, but great nonetheless.

Sushi was good but place had an odd feel about it. I came here at lunch and was one of a few people there. The waitress kind of looked at me like I was trying to order a Big Mac at 10am. After I ordered I actually walked to counter and asked for it to go, didn’t want her to steal anymore of my soul.

Excellent sushi and rolls. A bit pricy and no lunch specials. Service was poor but it wasn’t busy at lunch and we just called for our waiter when we needed something. Looks like evening is the time to be there as they have a piano for entertainment. Will have to try it in the evening sometime.

This is no longer the best place in Wichita Falls to get Sushi. Wasabi, while their service isn’t great, has some really fantastic rolls. Especially for Wichita Falls. I don’t eat at the hibachi so I can’t comment on that.

I enjoyed the food and the company of my server. She was very nice and friendly. I ordered bulgogi, some Hamachi, spicy tuna and unagi. When I entered the restaurant, it wasn’t what I expected, but it was unique and different. I really do like the interior design. They had a bar and a sushi bar. The food was delicious. My favorite dish was the hamachi nigiri and sashimi. It tasted rich and fresh. For the rest of my meal, it was delicious as well. The spicy tuna was different than the one I’m used to eating. The spicy tuna was fresh cut tuna with avocado and spicy sauce on top. But it was still good. Would I come back? Of course. Food was great. Service was great.

Small place but great food. Me and my husband got the bulgogi and wonton soup, love all of it! It was fast because we were the first table to place an order. All the other tables got their food with in 15 mins of order. That was only due to the fact that their is one cook and one sushi maker. But everyone was so friendly and helpful. Plus the other 3 tables seem to come here a lot because the workers all knew their names. Overall, we’ll be going back soon! The other reviews that complained about food was totally wrong. But I can see how some people could complain about how long food took to get to them. They only have one chef. But it seems worth the wait for us.

How does the food taste? Couldn’t tell you, I’ve been here for 45 mins and still waiting on my main course. 5 of us came together for dinner and service was terrible. The waiter must have been new. Poor kid couldn’t bring a pitcher to pour my water, he took my glass to the bar area and filled it up. We saw other tables asked for their appetizer to be recooked because it was cold. When the sushi came to our table, the waiter couldn’t even tell us wait he had in his hand. It’s been about an hour now… 3 of 5 got their food but the other 2 have not. Finally, we got our food. The food was good but the service was absolutely horrible. When we spoke to the lady that prepared our sushi she had nothing but excuses to tell us. She wasnt apologetic.

Do NOT waste your time! I should have listened to the other reviews stating they received horrible service. I waited almost 15 minutes before anyone even approached me. The server took my order sheet but failed to take a drink order. After several more minutes of waiting, I got up to get my own drink. Food was over priced and not worth the money or the wait. They screwed up check and never apologized for anything! I will NEVER go back here and will tell everyone I know not to come here either!

This is hands down one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. After being directed to sit at a dirty table, we received our drinks pretty quickly. That was the one good thing that happened. After 30 min, the waiter returned to ask if we needed drink refills — after never taking our order. We reminded him we needed to order, and he clearly had no clue about their menu. He asked us to spell a dish so he could write it down. It took 30 minutes to receive part of our order. Currently, my table mates are eating their meals that a buck-a-scoop place could have produced better, and I still have not received my sushi rolls — 10 minutes later. That’s correct — my table mates received their cooked meal at least 10 minutes before I(still haven’t gotten) my uncooked sushi rolls. According to my friends, their meal was disgusting.

15 Nov 14. Ok so here is my review of Sakura. Would have given 4 stars for the food and only taking away 1 star for being OVERPRICED but what Sakura lacks is consistency. If the actual Sushi Chef is working their food is excellent and very well put together. Presentation on the Hibiscus roll was awesome, came with a cut rose and everything on my to-go order. The Bi Bam Bap was also very tasteful and plentiful(lots of meat and mushrooms). That was my first visit so of course I went back and made the same order. except this time there was no Sushi Chef working… I believe it was the owner… a middle aged asian woman. The Hibiscus roll looked like something my 8yo put together and lacked in proportions to my first visit… since this roll cost just under $ 15 I expect it to be well put together and also have at least decent portions of sushi in it… not so much. The same went for the Bi Bam Bap… was mostly rice with a fried egg on top… best $ 15 I spent… NOT! I separated the meat out it was only 4 pieces yes 4 little pieces of meat with 2 sliced mushrooms. So not worth it! So here is my advice for visiting Sakura if you walk in and you do not see the Sushi Chef behind the counter… turn around and walk out or you will be disappointed. The middle aged asian woman must being trying to save pennies or something. Due to this fact I will not be returning to this establishment.

I have been going here for(nearly) 10 years. Went out of the way to get there this week. Better than ever. Large portions at fair price. Started with miso soup. More flavorful and more tofu than most places. Next, I ordered a roll with salmon, mango, and i think avocado.(Forgot name, but its on the nenu). Was refreshing. Told kyle what I wanted in another roll and he customized a huge delicious roll(shrimp tempura, and eel . I read the other reviews and don’t understand them. Sushi is fresh, nice presentation, and most important tasty.

This place definitely has the best sushi in Wichita Falls. Always fresh and authentic. It saddens me that it’s no longer BYOB. And the prices have sky rocketed, while the rolls keep getting smaller and smaller. I ordered a spider roll and it was cut into six 1 cm slices served on 2×2 inch sauce plate and still paid $ 9 for it. I felt cheated. And the«piano bar» can be really annoying listening to the same person sing the same song over and over and over. So now if I have a serious craving for Sakura all I will order is the Ahi Tower Togo it’s around $ 15 – 16 but you actually get a decent amout of sushi for it. I just hate the way this place has gone bc I’ve going there for 10yrs and always loved it. It’s just not what it used to be…

Great sushi the fried veggie roll was amazing make sure to add cream cheese and spicy mayo to it! But this place is way over priced. A small ball of Mochi is 5 $ and a small plate for fried rice is 7 $ wouldn’t mind paying there prices if we got more food for the price. Got 2 rolls for 8 $ each and they were small so I didn’t get full so I had to order another roll and Mochi and it all added up. The place has great art and is a cute small location I loved the set up

Love it! Great sushi and cool décor. The piano is a little unexpected, but was very nice entertainment. Wichita Falls doesn’t have anything else like this, and I think more people need to check it out! Sometimes is does take a little bit of time to get your food, but I think it’s worth it since it’s made to order and the quality is awesome.

An hour and a half to get our food at lunch when there were 4 other people in the entire restaurant… not acceptable. And entire order of sashimi never came out to boot. The bi bim bap was actually pretty good. And the fried Cali roll was surprisingly tasty. But the service is an absolute joke. Never again Sakura. Never again.

Sakura has some of the smallest sushi portions I have ever seen. Being a chirashi-hound, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to have it here, because no other place in Wichita Falls does it, but instead of the beautiful display of skillfully sliced fresh fish atop a hefty portion of sushi rice, what I got was a tiny, ugly bowl of disappointment. Apparently Sakura thinks that chirashi is tantamount to making 3 pieces of nigiri, combining the meager amount of rice that three pieces of nigiri would yield, and then taking the pieces of fish on top and slicing them up thin to pretend that there’s more fish than there actually is. I’ve paid $ 10 at other places for bowls of chirashi that were easily 4x as big as what I got here for $ 14. My friends got rolls, and they were sadly not much better in terms of size. On the plus side, the restaurant itself is pretty cool looking. It’s also close to campus, has live music, and what little I got did taste pretty fresh, but even then, I’ve had better in other cities and for less. I’m really hoping that this was just an odd experience. I believe the owner was the one who made our sushi, since no one else appeared to be working, and considering her knife skills, I’m 100% confident that she is not a trained sushi chef. Perhaps if I had gone at night, when it’s busier and the restaurant would no doubt have a real sushi chef working, my experience would have been much better?
