Great place and overall value. At first glance the prices seem high, but you will not be disappointed with what you get. I have heard about this place for years, but finally visited there on our anniversary. This is a must in Wichita.

What a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant in Wichita with such a good atmosphere! The place is small and cozy with dim lighting and secluded booths. I like the feeling of not being involved in everyone else in the restaurants conversations. The menu has a lot of choices and ranges from fairly inexpensive to moderately priced entrees. I chose the lasagna and although the portion was fairly small it was the best I have ever had. The only reason I gave Bella Vita four stars is because the service was somewhat slow. However, if you are looking for a restaurant in Wichita that is not the typical overcrowded, noisy, run of the mill schlock house this is definitely the place. .

This place is incredible… such a nice surprise. The atmosphere is excellent, service is perfect, and the food is amazing!!! I would definitely return the next time that I am in town. Reservations are recommended on typical busy times, but on a Monday it was not too busy. The bread, olive oil mixed with balsamic vinegar and parmesan is the best that I’ve ever had… seriously

We went to this restaurant with a relative who lives in Wichita. She eats here frequently and highly recommended it. I was not impressed with the outside but boy was a surprised when we opened the door. Very pretty tables set with nice white linens and a nice atmosphere. The wines offered were varied enough for each of us. The appetizers were tasty, the salads and soups were delicious. They brought nice, warm rolls and prepared olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We tried 3 different entrees and each of us was pleased. We split a dessert that was over top. We will be back here next time we are in Wichita. Delicious. Worth the drive

I have gone here several times over the past few years. Usually the food is fantastic and the service impeccable. Recently went for the had the soup of the day Tuscan turkey vegetable; it was ok. The sandwiches are great. Should have stuck with the house salad instead of the soup. But overall this is a great place for lunch and makes a great spot for a romantic dinner. However this place needs to be renovated. I think it will probably go out of business solely based on its tired completely ugly atmosphere. If they want to pull in more patrons this place has to have a gut job. And turn off the Michael Bolton how about some soft Italian music not opera well I’d even take opera if it was happy

I don’t know why I’m having such bad luck with Italian restaurants lately. I was really excited to try this place while visiting Wichita because it had really good reviews on Unilocal.Seemed nice enough when we got there. As happened yesterday, the server forgot to put our appetizer in and out entrees came out without any appetizer. I had the tortellini carbonara and the sauce looked really watery. The whole dish lacked any type of flavor. He offered us a free soup on our next visit but what’s the point if I’m only visiting for the weekend. Oh well, no Italian food for me for a bit.

In town on business. Followed rating to nearest well rated restaurant –Sitting here waiting for a fork after sending back my salmon… not even warm on the inside and then asked if I wanted it more than medium… no just cooked. Wine was way too sweet for a pint grigio… finished a glass and never asked if I wanted another. Asked for no potatoes and double vegetables. .same amount as my neighboring table. Flavor of veges was from the butter. Salmon flavor was good after they cooked it. Service marginal. Food ok. Prep poor.

I almost never leave a place and immediately write my review, but I was so excited to rave about this stellar little restaurant I didn’t want to wait. Don’t let the unassuming digs fool you — this is some seriously delicious food that doesn’t need to put on any airs to impress! We started with the fresh-baked bread, olive oil, balsamic and parmesan as well as an order of bruschetta, which was delicious. I ordered the house salad, which was one of the loveliest presentations I’ve ever seen, and so, so good. Then, I had the tortellini alla vodka, which was absolutely wonderful. The tortellini was fresh and perfectly al dente, and the sauce was to die for. Topped off with parm and fresh-cracked pepper. Oh. My. Luckily, I forced myself to stop eating my pasta so I could enjoy the tiramisu and a cup of coffee. Again, beautiful presentation, and a clearly handmade tiramisu that looked like something your Italian grandmother would make, rather than something mass-produced in a faraway corporate assembly line. Our server was darling, I would say about 7 months pregnant and working so hard. As far as we could tell she was the only server(though it was all hands on deck during what seemed like an unusually busy Monday night, all the people in the building were working hard, but she looked to be the only official server. I hope she made bank tonight! Finally, as if the entire experience weren’t cool enough, we did get to see the Chef sing Happy Birthday and it was awesome. Such a nice touch, such a sweet thing to do, and just really rounded out an overall lovely experience.

Went back for the second time and I am still so in love with Bella Vita. Cannelloni appetizer– the waitress said it was a special and wasnt on the menu. It was stuffed cannelloni pasta with spinach and cheese and other vegetables and then fried. They were like fancy italian pizza rolls. They were good but I probably wouldn’t order them again. Caeser salad– We both added Gorgonzola cheese to our salads. The salads were fresh with romaine lettuce, large housemade croutons, and zesty dressing. I think I prefer their house salad but my eating companion loved the caeser salad. Next time I will try it with sardines. Veal cordon blue– I can’t stop thinking about this dish! From the first bite until the last I was in love. The veal was so tender and juicy, fried and stuffed with fresh Swiss cheese and prosciutto. Topped with more cheese and drenched in a cream sauce. Came with a side of pasta. Their pasta is always fresh and homeade. I couldn’t finish the dish but veal is now my favorite food and I NEED to get my hands on more. Lasagna– I only had one bite, and I was so obsessed with the veal I couldn’t really give a valid opinion. My partner said it was an interesting take on lasagna(creamy) that he had never had before, and he ate the entire thing so sounds like it got the job done. Limoncello cake– To die for. It was like heaven in my mouth. I’m so glad we decided to get dessert. We shared a piece and it was so light but rich at the same time, tart and sweet and tangy but made my taste buds feel things they never felt before… It’s going to be hard to not get this the next time I go. Customer service was swell. Our waitress seemed to be newish but was getting the hang of it. Other than what is listed here we also got two bella vita coffee, the onion soup(again), and two iced teas. Total was $ 120 with tip included. We also got to see chef Adrian singing happy birthday to a customer. He unexpectedly has a great singing voice! All in all, bella vita is my favorite restaurant is wichita and I’ll recommend it to anyone.

Second only to McDonald’s and every other fast food chain in Wichita. This place was a major disappointment and was way overhyped. If you want to get a taste for the food and service just visit any local quick trip and ask for the day old discount foods. The service was mediocre. The food was awful.

Although the restaurant was busy and a staff member called out the service was friendly and excellent, maybe a little slow but I didn’t mind… Atmosphere was good. From another review I decided to try the Eggplant over pasta … EXCELLENT Great portions and overall a good experience. I will surely come back when I’m back in town.

Outstanding! We found on Unilocal before the Prairie Fire Half Marathon. Presentation was amazing and food was outstanding! They do take reservations(couldn’t find a website) so if you can’t go early like we did, call and make a reservation!
