This dog park is pretty clean and grassy with a couple of benches and shade decks for the dogs. However, there were a few dogs here that were aggressive or overly dominant. I had some issues today with a mean boxer dog biting the neck of my pit mix(who thinks he’s a tiny dog). The owners did nothing to stop it, but left after he nipped at more dogs. It was in the 90’s today, so I thought the pools would be out for the dogs to cool off in. Fortunately, there were a few flooded spots of rain water from the storms lately that my dog decided to splash around in. Make sure you bring water, food, and please clean up after your animals! This is going to be our new favorite spot!

This is definitely one of the worst parks we’ve been to, but we were in a pinch. No shade, no trees, no agility space. There were tons of broken glass pieces in the grass. There was stray poo everywhere. Like, everywhere. One family with two mean dogs. They stayed on top of them, but we weren’t interested in testing it out. We left pretty quickly. It’s just flat land, open space.

This is the only dog park I’ve ever been in… but is this all there is? Not one tree, no shade. Because it’s built on a landfill, broken glass has worked it’s way up to ground level and is everywhere… not impressed.

Awesome dog park if you like to let your dog run around. Only sometimes do I find rusty nails or potentially dangerous bits and pieces in the grass, but these likely find their way in with guests rather than the park itself. There are no agility or training pieces of equipment here, which is one thing I’m disappointed in. However, I’ve yet to find a park like that(for free) in any surrounding area. Perhaps I was just spoiled in Columbus.

A top notch dog park with everything you and your dog needs/wants. Lots of benches and shady spots, plus the opportunity to watch as your pooch sniffs through the grass or takes a dunk in the pool. A doggie slice of heaven, in a Kansas dog park that rivals what is available in California.

Great place to take the hounds! Huge fenced in area for the pups to roam and prance with other dogs. Also has a small dog area. Poop bags and trash cans are provided to keep it clean. Three kiddie pools so the dogs can cool off and drinking fountains. Also, balls are available to toss around.

I agree with Tressa P’s review! I did go one time after the freeze was thawing and it was indeed a huge mess! We kind of realized it after we stepped in and at that point. oh well, we let the dogs run! Baths after for sure and I was so glad I had blankets in the car! Another note is that during the winter the water is shut off. Bring your own if your dog will need it. It was still winter season when we went but it was an unusually warm day with no snow so we went to the park, along with many others! Not many(including us) were thinking the water would not be on with the weather so nice. I guess we mentally went into summer mode! There has always been quite a few balls and toys to toss for your dog laying around. Also… please clean up after your dog! If everyone just leaves the poo sitting there. well yuck! Clean up bags are provided along with a big trash can. The KS Humane Society is building a dog park too.

Happy to see Wichita get itself a dog park, apparently just opened this winter, sort of behind the Starlite Drive-In.(Same entrance to go to the model plane field.) Ten acres of fenced in grassland with a separate small dog area, drinking fountains and shade platforms for the summer months. There was a mix of well-mannered dogs when we went Sunday afternoon and all having a good time. There’s nary a tree in the whole countryside which makes for a windy walk sometimes, but I guess that’s Kansas. Not a lot of grass right now and I wouldn’t attempt a visit after the rain, but I expect the Springtime will bring some nice changes…
