It was hot, it was humid, our power was out, so no air conditioning or possibility of cooking at home, so into the car for a drive to the outskirts for some pizza taco. I had already tried the bierocks and pizza taco(and they’re both good), but for this trip I resolved to try the«pizza raft», and knowing the size of the item, I asked daughter #1 to help me split it. Wife and daughter #2 split a sausage pizza taco. Regarding the pizza raft: It’s a rectangle of pizza crust, topped with sauce, sauerkraut, pizza cheese, and a line of smoked sausage down both edges. This item is so gloriously wrong and so deliciously good. Because there was a delay on the pizza taco(the crust was burned on the first one, so the kitchen re-made it), daughter #1 and I shared a piece of pizza raft with wife and daughter #2, and we all agreed was great, although difficult to eat until it cooled down. The remade pizza taco was soon out and we all got into our meals. The two items were really more than enough food for four, but the guys in the kitchen felt bad about burning the first pizza taco, so they brought us out some strawberry shortcake for dessert. We managed to eat it(it was some of the best strawberry shortcake I’ve had since my grandma died), but we were miserably full when we waddled out the door. Staff here is super friendly, the place has nice atmosphere, and… they make a pizza with sauerkraut and sausage, what’s not to like?

I think the the pizza taco is pretty good. I’ve been here four times in the short amount of time I’ve spent in Wichita. The jalapeño ranch and the buffalo ranch are ok. I don’t really taste any spice in them though. The staff has always been pretty friendly. They offer a military discount which is nice.

LOVE this place! They have an awesome lunch buffet that I go to any chance I am on the West side over lunch! They have a really good sausage pizza taco and their lettuce is always so fresh and fine! The crust is really good also — almost like pizza, but like a taco shell. They have a BBQ chicken I believe, BBQ something, anyways, it’s really good! My mouth is already watering and I’m going to have to stop by for dinner this evening! Reasonably priced for a unique toss on pizza! Highly recommend this place! Never a long wait! You serve yourself at the buffet, still have waitress filling drinks and checking up on you. Best of both!

I was passing through Wichita during lunchtime, and my stomach was captivated by the sign reading«PizzaTaco.» I love pizza, and I love tacos, so my hopes were high. The space is pleasant, and the service was friendly and welcoming. A full pizzataco costs $ 9.25, so just under $ 10 with tax. It was a pita-thick tortilla with a thin layer of pizza sauce, a not ungenerous amount of cheese, and tons of sausage crumbles plus even more shredded lettuce. It was heavy and filling, though not particularly fulfilling. The space feature a couple of big screen tvs, several beers on tap, and a selection of original sauces. A for effort C for execution

I’ve lived near here for almost 3 years and finally asked some people at work about it. They had very mixed reviews, it seemed like they either loved or hated it. I decided to give it a try. The salad was good. The bierocks and the pizza taco lacked flavor. This review may be boring but so was the food.

Went tonight with the family and had a wonderful experience! We tried some pizza tacos, a pizza pup and the spinach and artichoke dip. Everything was tasty and the portions were just right — we had halves. The service was amazing — both men working were very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be going back! The jalapeño ranch sauce is the best!!!

Enjoy their pizza tacos so much, I have never tried any of their other items, except the nachos, which are so good! I crave their fresh and fizzy tasting sauce. Love the nice people, good service and laid back feel.

When you walk inside the place feels like a pizza parlor in the 1980’s they have an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet at lunch time. They have draft beer and a decent selection of bottles — all reasonably priced. Without a doubt my favorite item is the original sausage pizza taco. Think of it as a sausage pizza with lettuce and tomato that has been folded in half. Don’t foget to try it with the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce.

Tried place again because friend said sounded good, look at majority of reviews they are 4 years old, was novel first time but owners I think have changed, not good, pizza tacos are this, just imagine a bigger frozen tostinos pizza roll from Walmart microwaved and slit open, everything is just bulk bought over processed frozen ingrediants put together and named something you never heard of, and growing up German these are not beirocks and its a shame that some people will eat these and think German food sucks, these are a QT frozen version of mystery meat in a dough, simply stated try at own risk and should have thrown your money out the car window on ride there, and half the time they are out of what you want to order, obviously waiting on Sysco truck to restock frozen ingrediants

Don’t be put off by the name… pizza tacos are delicious! We were skeptical when we first tried it, but now we’re glad we did. Very friendly staff, fast service, and great house-made sauces. Try the sausage pizza taco with jalapeño ranch. You can also order to go!

Drove by several times while visiting and thought… PIZZATACO? Had to Unilocal it. Looked interesting enough, but what brought us in was Bierocks! We got the 9 in pizza taco and 2 orders of Bierocks. The sausage pizza taco wasn’t bad – neat concept, but not sure if it’s a big WOW-factor. Pizza with lettuce. I have been on a hunt for good Bierocks and was so excited to see that they had it. There was no cheese. The bun was pizza dough and a lot of cabbage compared to meat. The meat was pizza sausage, not the typical ground pork. Let’s just say it’s decent, but not what I remembered eating as a child. I am still on the hunt for good Bierocks… Great patio seating if the weather is nice out. Friendly service.

I drove past this place many times, before the fateful night I thought, «favorite pizza? Taco», so I had to stop. I have since tried the Beirocks, Pizza Tacos, and various appetizers. All get an A+, but once you experience a Pizza Taco with salsa, you will be forever sold on Charlie’s. The Pizza Taco is pork sausage and mozzarella inside a perfectly toasted thin crust. I just moved back to Houston and miss Charlie’s Pizza Taco. They have a great range of beers and even margaritas on certain nights. Live music makes the new patio the place to be.

KnifeWrench. CatDog. Pizza Taco. All things which probably shouldn’t go together. But in the case of the latter, the pizza taco turned out to be more than you would expect. Not much more, of course — this is still basically just a small pizza folded in half. But the crust is crisp, the very abundant pork sausage was breakfast sausage-like, but still decent for supporting the Pizzaco, and the smooth, creamy mozzarella was better than I was expecting. Actually, even the slightly-wilted heaps of lettuce released a flavor that was above average. So sure, maybe it’s just an open-ended calzone, and I doubt this is the start of a pizza taco craze around Wichita, but it’s not the joke you might expect.

I was skeptical that mixing pizza and tacos could possibly be as good as it sounds, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is a little expensive at 10 bucks for a pizza taco but it is huge and you can split it between 2 people with no problem

Based on our first visit to Charlie’s Pizza Taco, we will go back. We went because of the novelty of the concept. I agree with a fellow reviewer that the prices are a little high but the pizza taco is large. My husband & I split one pizza taco — it was plenty for lunch and puts the cost more in-line with what we spend for lunch. A lunch special that includes a drink would make it more affordable for a work lunch. The pizza taco tasted mostly like pizza with a little taco flavoring & it’s held like a taco. We liked the crust and the filling was yummy — there was a generous amount of sausage(didn’t remember getting an option for beef as someone mentioned in another review) along with cheese and lettuce. The menu is not very big and there’s not a lot of room for customization — if you’re wanting pizza with pepperoni this isn’t the place to go! We would’ve tried the pizza raft but they didn’t offer it without the kraut. I think the product is unique enough and tasty enough to make it – especially if they price it right for the workday lunch crowd.

Loved it! We tried the pizza taco, salad, bierock, veggie lasagna, and pup. They give you a TON of food. You will have 2 meals out of this– so with that in mind– pricing doesn’t seem high(in response to the other reviewer’s comments). It’s a great way to stretch your money– get 2 meals out of 1.

I did not want to try this place. I have never looked at a pizza and thought. «Gee, I wish this was more like a taco.» I was brought here kind of against my will. My guy wanted to try it for the novelty alone. My family outvoted me. So I went, and I complained a little. Damn if I didn’t like the pizza taco. The thing is massive; two of us split it and were perfectly satisfied. I finished my half first out of the whole family. It is absolutely not gourmet pizza. There was no discernible difference between the beef and the pork sausage. Mom thought the beef looked a little paler, which seems backward. I didn’t really care, because for some reason, it worked. We ordered it spicy, and it wasn’t too spicy at all, just had a little kick, Spicy pizza sauce is available in squeeze bottles. I seem to recall that they had a relatively good selection of beer available, and wine if you’re not picky about it. So… somehow they made me like lettuce on a pizza. I’m not too proud to admit when I am wrong.
