All of the sandwiches I’ve tried here are awesome. It’s definitely one of my favorite delis in Wichita. The staff was nice and we got our food pretty fast. The tomato bisque soup wasn’t as good as I’d hoped but the sandwiches are always good.

After driving by this tons of times we finally decided to give it a try. The food was really good, but I agree with most: it was too expensive. Part of the problem I think, is the bread. I wanted soup but not the bread bowl. They do not have a lower price if you opt not to have the bread. We ended up throwing away two huge bread bowls. As I threw them away I noticed that there were many more in the garbage. The waste was heartbreaking. I wish they could be given to the birds or something. But I digress, perhaps if they offered to sell them in regular bowls they could charge less and there wouldn’t be the waste. It’s not to say that the food isn’t good, but I take these other factors(taste, portion size and price) into consideration when I choose a place to eat.

Sandwiches are good, however, went in today and saw that the price increased again. It’s good but not good enough to justify $ 9.59 for a whole sandwich. I didn’t order and ate elsewhere. So sad, we will not be returning.

While the others who are complaining about the price are correct – it is way overpriced for what you get; I find the food just taste poor. The ingredients taste prepackaged. The meats and wraps taste as if they were recently purchased at the Dillon’s down the street, and the bread taste like wonder bread(the soup bowls are indeed made out of wonderbread instead of the more traditional sourdough). It’s clean. My food came promptly. Nothing to complain about except the taste and cost of the food.

Cleanliness 5 Service 5 Food 3 Overall 3 Went to Cinnamon’s with a large group of friends and they handled it very well. It was on a Sunday and only had a few in the kitchen but were able to crank out the sandwiches needed. I ordered the outback, and while it was good, I felt it was a bit overpriced. The food was good, but I would have rather gone somewhere else where my money could have gone a bit further. Two things to note. The sandwich sizes can be deceiving. The mini is about equal to half of a sandwich, a half is about a full, and a full is almost two sandwiches. Also most of their soups are served in bread bowls.

Cinnamon’s has long been a favorite deli. I enjoy their sandwiches, and soups and the fresh bread they are made on. Tonight I went with a friend for the first time in a few months. It has always been somewhat expensive but still in the range I was willing to spend for a great meal. I also loved their deep brown wheat bread. It actually looks like rye. At first tonight’s sandwich looked like it was made on white bread. I checked the ticket. It said wheat. Then I looked closer, it was wheat, but just barely discernable from white bread. It was okay, but not the same savory sensation I am used to. The thing that really got me was the price. I ordered a full smoked beef and cheddar sandwich with a cup of Wisconsin Cheddar(which was sans vegetables that usually are in it) soup and an iced tea. The total? $ 16.52!!! What? I have never paid above $ 15 and change for a full sandwich with bowl of soup, a drink and a dessert item. I felt guilty I left part of my pricey sandwich and bread bowl uneaten, but it wasn’t enough to take home. My best friend had a bowl of soup(not in a bread bowl) and an iced tea for just over $ 9.00!!! I felt sorry for the young people working there, but I had to let them know the crazy new prices were offputting and would probably keep us from returning again. Indeed that was most of our discussion over dinner. I was very nice to the young man as I am sure it was not anything in his control, but asked him to pass it along to the owner(s). So if you are okay with being gouged for a meal, you will get a tasty one. It won’t be the same quality as before, but you get the priveledge of improving your credit score by taking out a loan for dinner. I am currently without work, so this took a major bite out of my funds for the week. Not nice Mr. &/or Ms. Cinnamon’s Deli owner! I know you need to make a living but would suggest you ease a price increase on your customers, don’t knock them out with it. Before they would have had 4 stars, with one off from 5 for the cost. Now that they are so high I can’t afford to eat there, and their decrease in quality(change of wheat bread and no veggies in the soup), they are only getting a 2 from me. Still tastes good, but you have to be able to afford to eat there or there’s no point in going in.

This place is the BEST! Portions are large, so may need to save some for later. I got completely hooked on this place during a short stint in Wichita. On the third consecutive day of eating lunch there, my husband asked if we could eat somewhere else :-)

Carb heaven! I had the italian beef and provolone sandwich with a bowl of clam chowder soup. The bowl of soup came in a bread bowl that I couldn’t stop eating. The bread isn’t dense so you can devour the whole bowl like I did. The toasted sandwich was excellent. The clam chowder was delicious. So I don’t want to know if it came out of a can or not. I don’t think it did. Upon a first visit, the sandwich makers can seem like they are leering in a creepy way as they listen to your order being place. Plenty o’ seating. This is a gem of a place for when you want great-tasting food that doesn’t make you feel heavy afterwards.

Did Angel on a Haystack the other day. I think they forgot to add the sauce. No matter, I had taken it home and could add my own. I was not that impressed with the flavor though. Still, it was a large amount of food. The menu has some other interesting items that I’m still keen on trying. Not many interesting restaurants in the immediate area, so I keep on coming back.

I had the heart attack stack sandwich which I didn’t realize was a heated sandwich, so I didn’t like it that much. They were out of mushrooms, otherwise I would have ordered their portobell sandwich. I also had a side of their enchilada soup, which the service counter guy gave me a sample of. At first I thought it was delicious. Then when I had it at the table, I just kind of picked at it because it tasted too rich. I did like dipping in the bread from the bread bowl in it and thought that, for a place that serces bread bowls, it was priced very well. I don’t think I’d come here again though. It was just okay.

I was told by a Kansas native to visit this place during my business trip so I went for lunch on a weekday. I was hoping for something a bit light so I ordered the half sandwich and salad deal with the Turkey Avocado Cream Cheese sandwich and the Greek salad. The half sandwich was HUGE and there was way too much cream cheese on it, so much that it was soaking through the admittedly delicious and toasty bread. The salad was pretty tasty but there were equal parts onion and lettuce which made for a very strong flavor. The staff was friendly and helpful. Just a «meh» experience, but it’s a good amount of food for the price and the food was definitely better quality and fresher than most of the lunch time deli places I’ve visited in Wichita. I’d try it again but probably order a different sandwich and ask them to go easy on any cheese/condiments.

Holy big sandwich batman! Fresh bread and high quality lunch meat. A winning combination. Had the pastrami sandwich special and it was excellent. Also had a cup of the tomato bisque. Great lunch for very reasonable price.

Loved that turkey avocado cream cheese sandwich(tip: add on bacon), and the baked beans and potato salad were good, too.

This is the place I go when I am working in Wichita! My fav is the turkey, avocado, and cream cheese– it comes toasty and warm. I get the half and it is plenty. Not a fan of the brownies but I will try a cookie next time!

I’ve been going to Cinnamon’s for many years and one thing you can say about them is their food is always consistent. Everything is rich and filling so it’s very easy to overdo it and get too much. A half sandwich and a cup of soup are just about enough to send you into a carbohydrate coma. The bread is sliced about an inch thick and the sandwiches are grilled so you get a nice crunch on the outside while the bread stays soft on the inside. One complaint, they can get a little liberal with the dressing so if you order a sandwich with a strongly-flavored dressing like honey mustard it can sometimes overwhelm the sandwich. Every soup I’ve tried has been great but some of their salads aren’t my favorites. The prices are a little high so go thinking you’ll spend about what you would at a sit down restaurant instead of a sandwich shop. The dining room is nicely decorated and the staff is friendly. I always tell myself I’ll save room for one of their dessert selections but I never do.

This place seriously does not get enough hype. For $ 8 today I got a big honkin’ sandwich and soup in a breadbowl. However, come to think of it, it should have been a half sandwich… no wonder I was so full! Service was friendly and fast and they even came to my table to pick up my tray for me. This may not be one of the prettiest Cinnamon’s in town, but I will be back because they know how to treat me right! Oh yeah and FREEWI-FI!
