Eric Fisher Academy

Awesome time close to home and cost 1/3 less than my hair dresser. KIERA was a great hairdresser. I only needed a root color and she did great then she styled it like I wanted it. Found a great product for fine frizzy hair. I've been blonde since late 90s and no one has styled my hair like I wanted but Kiera. Thanks for letting me know about specials in May and coupon for $10 off product. I can't wait to get massage and facial and hair cut and a scalp massage. I'm glad my salon went up in price so I could try Eric Fisher salon school.

I am in town for business and needed a color correction and root touch. I checked among three hair schools in the area for reviews and found Eric Fisher had above average marks over the others. I made my appointment three days ahead. I received a friendly reminder call the day before. Upon walking in, there is a large bright entry where there were already ten customers waiting. When checking in, I was asked if I would like coffee or something to drink. There is a small boutique with jewelry, vogue tops, candles, etc. Brindalya greeted me and took me back to the work station. She pulled out her iPad and showed me various pictures of hair color. I picked the color I wanted and the Instructor, Andra found two swatches of color to combine. I observed my surrounding and could see how every student was concentrating on their customer’s hair. There are several instructors constantly walking around and observing their student’s progress. Andra is wonderful in that she came up with the idea of saving some of my current deep red color and wrapping in foil of conditioner while the dark brown color was added to the rest of my hair. She explained that this would add dimension to my hair instead of having a solid color. They really care about hair and maximizing on the potential of awesomeness. While it did take almost five hours (I have long thick hair), I feel I am giving students a chance to gain confidence in becoming future wonderful hair stylists. And you pay a fraction of what you will pay in a Salon. I was offered complimentary drinks and snack bar a few. I walked out with a better hair color than I expected! Do bring cash for tips! Worth the 30 minute drive! Only one thing that was negative: I did have to wash my hair afterwards because the color was not completely washed out around the back of my neck where my head rested on the wash basin. This is a school so you are getting newbies who may still be rough around the edges, but try it out!
This place has great energy. There is always a buzz, but the volume is not «loud.» The atmosphere is very professional. Students have teachers walking the floor to ask for second advice and who inspect the students’ work.
Everyone has a great attitude. Eric Fisher himself has a positive attitude and this academy is full of that spirit. The space has great energy in its layout, color scheme, etc.
Services will take longer than at a «normal» salon. (Remember, they are practicing and learning.) Services are offered at a discount, so it all evens out. Tipping has to be done in cash, so if you only use plastic (as I do), bring some bills to leave a tip.
The clothing, jewelry, salon products, and «miscellany» store at the front are fun too. All seem to be very unique.
Highly recommend this as a destination for mothers and daughters, but the little girls need to be 7 and mature enough to sit for an hour or more.

Went there today for the Luxe Package, special until the end of May 2013. Full foils, conditioning treatment, shampoo, cut and style for $ 50 (normally $ 66). I could not be happier with the results.
Nikki was the student taking care of me from start to finish. She was extremely helpful and gave me a great consultation. She took great care when placing the foils and I was just amazed how great they came out, didn’t even need a toner. During the shampooing she gave me such a great scalp massage that I almost fell asleep. She then gave me a great haircut, exactly what I wanted, and styled it beautifully. Throughout the process several of their top-​notch instructors where always on hand to give tips and help when needed. If you want an appointment with Nikki you will have to hurry, because she will be graduating in August. However, this is a great school with super instructors, so you will surely be as thrilled as I am no matter which student stylist you get.
Be mindful that this is a school and the instructors are always checking on the students and their progress, so bring some time. Also be reasonable with your demands; they are student stylists not magicians. As far as I am concerned, the reason I go to a stylist is for their expertise, so bringing in a picture of the style you want is a great starting point, but I trust the stylist to evaluate my hair texture, take the way it grows into consideration and adapt the style I want to the shape of my head.
To sum it up; this is a great school with great instructors and students eager to learn. Will recommend this school to everybody. Same services as you would get in a salon, but for half price.

Good for haircuts but DO NOT get a pedicure here. 3 different people, all 3 gave horrible pedicures. The paint bubbled up & looked awful

Tried this on a lark, and was really pleased. Prices are greatly discounted and the quality is top notch. The instructors supervise the students through all the steps so it’s like getting two stylists! It took a little longer than a regular salon, but who cares? I got a cut and complex color and have received a ton of compliments.

I love that Eric opened the academy… as I have only been able to afford his actual salon on one occasion and felt it was ridiculously overpriced… $ 175 for a haircut and high lights. However, now me and my oldest daugter get our hair done at his academy for less than 20 each. His students are amazing. My personal favorite is Michael. We both have long thick hair and Michael is so great with our hair and shaping eye brows. The facility does not look like a school at all however, it has the feel of a salon that would be on the west coast. And you will probably even see Eric while you’re there. He once came over and couldn’t say enough about how great my hair was… and that was before my stylist even cut it… he then ask if I was one of his hair models. ;)

This place is great! It is easy to get an appointment (and sometimes just walk in.) You can get any service that you would normally get in a salon or spa… at a fraction of the cost. The students who have done my hair, nails and facials have been professional and well-​trained. (I don’t think the nail treatments are as quality as a nail salon, simply because these students are also studying hair styling, rather than focusing on nails all day.) That might not be a fair assessment, since I only had one pedicure there. This place provides a great way to pamper yourself and save some money at the same time.
The salon/​school looks very modern and has great colors and design. A great experience.
