Traveling through, try to find local places when i can. The coffee was good, staff friendly, but posters indicate gun nut runs the place so presumably clientele is likewise. Less potential drama at Starbucks across the street

This is the best coffee house I’ve been to. I went with a study group and we stayed there for about 4 hours. Kevin, the owner was really nice and was excited about his new younger customer base. It’s cozy and quiet. The customer base is very friendly and the prices are amazing. Everything is homemade and refreshing. I’ll become a regular and this will be my usual study safe haven. It’s not crowded with students during finals week like most popular coffee cafes. It was comfortable and our group managed to be productive and fill our stomachs. Everyone in our group couldn’t believe the great prices. I’m very satisfied with the overall experience at Java Villa.

I have started to come here more often than Starbucks which is right across the street. I love the attitude from the owners of this mom and pop operation. They make their own baked goods and have a large variety of coffes. I find myself trying to shy away from the chain stores and spending my money at local establishments when possible to support the community

We loved this cute small place. We are from a small town in Central California mountains and love our small mom and pop coffee shops. This was the friendliest place of all the places we went to during our visit to Wichita. Seriously, people in Wichita were definitely not friendly or no customer service expereince. idk. We went to a lot of establishments too. Just so happens the owner of this establishment is from California or has lots of ties to Northern California. He gets his beans from a roaster in Mill Valley area above SF.:-) Love the fact he has almond milk and makes his own soy milk from scratch. And all his baked goods he makes hmself. We enjoyed our converstaion with him. We will be back on the next visit to see family in Wichita. Thank you for the hospitality. Good stuff. You guys in Wichita our lucky to have some great coffee here. :-)

Best quiche in town. Kevin, the owner is great and welcoming. Love the super expresso. It beats Starbucks. Definitley the place to go for dessert or bierocks too.

Love the coffee products here. It was so nice to find a local alternative to char-bucks. The pies are amazing and I can’t get enough of those breakfast bierocks.

We stopped here several months ago on a cross country road trip for mocha frozen drinks and a scone and we were very glad we did. The drinks were fantastic as was the scone and the price was lower than most coffee shops. The owner was quite friendly, provided great service and told us he makes most of the food himself. If we ever drive through here, you better believe we will stop in again. Highly recommended.

Great chai! You can tell the owner is very passionate about his business. All the food(aside from some bags of chips) is made fresh daily by him! The chai is amazing and is way better than Starbucks. This is a cozy coffee shop perfect for conversations with an old friend or catching up on a good book!

I’ve largely bemoaned Wichita’s lack of independent coffee shops, but I’m beginning to see that perhaps it’s simply me who was overlooking them. Java Villa, for example, located in the shadow of a nearby Starbucks in a better location on the corner of Harry and Rock, but stupid Starbucks doesn’t have things like quiche and — more importantly — bierocks, do they? Perhaps bierocks work better as a coffee accompaniment than scones, because ordering one along with my drip coffee seemed as natural as mom and apple pie… or something. Anyway, the bierock was very well-cooked, resulting in a firm, textural exterior and a sufficiently-seasoned mixture of ground beef and sauerkraut. As cheap as they are, I imagine it would be difficult to resist picking one up with your afternoon coffee. Speaking of, while the black coffee I purchased was full-flavored, I get the feeling that Java Villa deals more in the flavored coffees(as determined by the drawers of various types not far from the register… though nothing’s really far from the register in there) and espresso. But the plain black coffee’s not bad, either, resulting in a coffee shop that doesn’t only deserve your business for the drink, but the bierocks add something special the conglomerates can never touch.

Everything is wonderful! Super espresso shakes are our favorite! Also the pie, bierocks, and quiche are very good.

The homemade pies and quiche are absolutely delicious! The Darn Good pie and the Kentucky Derby pies are favorites of ours. The bacon mushroom quiche is awesome! The owner is a bicycle enthusiast and quite quirky, but one of the nicest guys you’ll run into in Wichita. As far as coffee goes, I’d recommend the breve mocha.
