Kimlan is one of the first places I recommend to people visiting Wichita. I go there every time I’m in town, and it’s great deal for some of the best food in the city. $ 3.75 is an amazing price l for the large sandwiches, which include fresh bread and a variety of great Vietnamese meats. The barbecue pork bahn mi is really good, and the grilled pork might be my favorite food in Wichita. Period.

Best bahn mi I’ve ever had, can’t go wrong with a #6 and iced café sua. Plus it’s almost cheaper than fast food and so much better. Chinese bbq pork is moist and has great flavor, and the bread is fresh and warm. I’d eat here every day if I could.

My mom bought me six grilled pork sandwiches and I’ve been eating one a day so I guess I like them? I’ve only tried their sandwiches so I can’t say anything about other items on their menu. So far, my top two favorite Kimlan sandwiches are BBQ pork and grilled pork. I can’t decide which one I like more. I don’t think it’s a big deal though since I can easily eat both in one sitting. This is probably the closest to Lee’s Sandwiches you can find in Wichita. And I love Lee’s. Too often do I see good Banh Mi places close down and I truly hope Kimlan will stay with us for a long time.

Tasty egg rolls, fresh veggies and great bread. The sauces are flavorful. It’s def. worth visiting. They got one of our items wrong so that’s always a bummer. The spring rolls would have been delightful but they had pork which I was unable to eat. All in all tasty but I’ll stick w vegetarian items next time.

By far, the best bahn mi in Wichita! Th he bread is ALWAYS warm and fresh. The service is AMAZING! I’m allergic to mushrooms and they will make a special batch of their incredible steamed buns for me when I give them a day or two notice. Their prices are more than reasonable — $ 3.50 for most of the sandwiches and steamed buns. The pork bahn mi is our favorite, but the chicken is yummy, too! Definitely worth the trip each time!

I can’t stop thinking about going back on my lunch break today. And tomorrow. And the next day. It’s so simple and cheap and beautiful. There is nothing better than a near footlong bahn mi with crusty bread, fresh and crunchy vegetables, and various meat combinations of your choice. I have only tried their sandwiches so far but I’m sure I’ll mess around with their noodles and rice eventually. But really, Kimlan knows how to create a thing of beauty without messing it up.

Had the #3, grilled pork Bahn Mi… amazing! Shared an order of pork/shrimp spring rolls with my friend, not the greatest, but the sandwich… I will dream about it for days!

Hands down this is the best bahn mi I have had in Wichita. The diner isn’t anything fancy but the food is impressive. I have also had their phở and shrimp spring rolls and both are a good buy as well! Their spring rolls are a pretty nice size. And everything is inexpensive!

Meh. Kimlan has issues with consistency. I come here mostly for the steamed buns and have noticed that they tinker with the recipes a lot. You never are sure what you will get with your order. It might be perfect one day, but the next time you visit, they might have drastically cut down on the filling or added non-traditional radishes as a filler to the meat. Sometimes, there’s hardly any meat. Generally, the alterations seem to be driven by the need to cut corners. I don’t imagine that this is isolated to only one item in the menu. It’s too bad. Kimlan def knows how to turn out quality Viet foods.

How long have I said that bahn mis are the best value sandwiches in the biz? SOLONG. So you can imagine my delight at the prospect of a restaurant that serves nothing but the things. Phở can go phở itself. Bún bò Hue? Not for you! It’s like a Subway, except the sandwiches taste good and you can’t have it your way. It’s just sandwiches, is what I’m saying. $ 3.75 gets you a footlong bahn mi of pork roll, barbecue pork, and meatball. It’s good. It’s the real deal. You have to apply your own vegetables, which is annoying, but only slightly. That’s it. That’s all there is to Kimlan. Sure, you can get a couple of spring rolls if you want(and I won’t dissuade you), but otherwise, this is a love letter to the bahn mi, and it’s sealed with a kiss from Yours Truly.

Ambiance: Family owned shop thats pretty clean and friendly. They also serve some soup dishes but obviously don’t compete with Little Saigon next door. Food: My fiancé and I shared 3 sandwiches: the combination, the beef, and the pork. Among all the sandwiches they bread was fresh and tasty but I thought they could have used a little love in the toaster to add some crisp. Each sandwich is served with a little delicious packet of pickled carrots and daikon with cucumber and jalapenos. It’s a pain to fish them out of the packet but throw them in your sandwich and enjoy(I deseed the jalapenos to get the flavor without the ridiculous burn). I terms of fillings, the pork was by far the best. It was perfectly seasoned, savory, tender, and moist. The beef was lackluster in comparison being a little drier and just not as tasty. The combination was a decent sandwich as well with some cured meats inside but I was ultimately underwhelmed with it as well. Don’t take my criticisms out of context though, I would gladly eat any of these sandwiches again as they were all good but the pork sandwich was a clear winner. This place is definitely a good place to grab a snack, it is cheap, friendly, and tasty. I would recommend the pork for first-timers and say you’ll want 1.5 sandwiches if you’re a fatty like me.

I was driving up Broadway looking for a post office while visiting Wichita. I randomly saw a Bahn Mi place not far from the medical center. I am so glad I randomly stumbled on to this hidden treasure. The food at Kimlan is so good. SOVERYGOOD. The sandwiches are all incredibly fresh with soft french bread and fresh charcuteries. #1 is a great deal at only $ 3.50. Delicious meatballs, pâté, fresh veggies all on that delicious bread. With fastfood restaurants charging at least $ 5 for an inferior sandwich, why doesn’t everyone eat here for a sammy or sando? The Vietnamese coffee is delicious as well(and very potent). Springrolls are fresh and great.

Had the number 1 kimlan banh mi and it was yummy. I especially love the fresh french bread. The sandwich had pork meat loaf, pâté, pork meatballs and bbq pork. A different combination to your vietnamese banh mi but it was more flavorful than the original(number 2) that they make. They gave me a bag of veggies to put in the sandwich. I had a little bit more cucumber this time, the carrots were tangy. But i’d like to request some pickled daikon and cilantro. Staples to a vietnamese banh mi(sandwich).

I really can’t believe that Kimlan Banh Mi isn’t on Unilocal yet… so I’ll help you guys out. Go there! Amazing sandwiches with a variety of tasty fillings… pork meatball is great and the BBQ pork is out of this world. Anything from pork to pâté and yes… headcheese is available for those of you that go that way. Delish… since I too love the headmeat. Prices are extremely reasonable with offerings in the sub-$ 4 range. Do a combo at lunch for $ 5.50 that gets you an egg roll, fried rice and lo mein. Crazy good food. So do them and me a favor and visit this place, and keep me in tasty sandwiches for a while.
