Really enjoyed the small family style café setting and the food was extremely good and ample. The prices were very affordable. Highly recommend and will be back. Please support this small business.

Don’t judge a book by its cover or a restaurant by the building. I got the catfish/chicken tender platter that came with a small salad and fries and a side order of calamari. The catfish and chicken were amazing and the fries were good. The calamari was horribly overdone and took about 15 minutes to get. Overall I would highly suggest giving these guys a shot, just stay away from the calamari!

This is seriously my favorite chicken place in town. It’s a little hole in the wall but don’t let that fool you. I’ve only gotten the chicken and waffles and they are to die for! I want to go back and try the seafood.

Chicken breasts were good.(Except the wings tasted like calamari it was very strong). The large sides are not large. Was mostly not as pleased as I hoped I would be.

This place may be a hidden gem, but there is a lot of potential for improvement. Their process and atmosphere is presented like they just got off the turnip truck, clunky and inefficient. It’s just another example that we will put up with any kind of nonsense just to get food. I don’t know who you guys think you are suggesting this place is cheap, hardly. 8 for a plate 3 for a side 2 for a drink 13 for a meal. How is that cheap? You can go to probably 95% of any other restaurant and get an actual plate and silverware too for this price. I obviously came at the wrong time, they were clearly overwhelmed to even notice me standing at the counter for 15 minutes. So, with the prospect of a $ 13 meal, and them too busy to even say hello and take an order, well, I’d rather have a waiter to leave a tip to.

Dont let the storefront scare you… wow what a find. Have seen reviews on here before and the menu items definstely stand up to the reviews. Hand breaded chicken tenders. Great fried catfish and chicken and waffles too. Generous portions with a price range from 5 to 9 dollars. Very pleasent people as well.

I love fried chicken. I think it all started when I was watching this one Korean drama called«My Love from the Star.» The main character was obsessed with fried chicken and after watching her devour all of that deliciousness, I decided to go on a quest to look for the best fried chicken in town. It took me years, but I think I’ve found the perfect place. Krispy’s Fried Chicken is that place. They also have shaved ice. I usually get green tea because who doesn’t like green tea? Unless you can’t wait, I would suggest you order a take out because the establishment is tiny.

Place is a hidden gem. Solid chicken and waffles. Get there early for lunch because the place fills up fast. I always go with the chicken strips and waffles. Awesome stuff.

I’m pretty happy that my wife and I decided to spend our date night getting the comfort food from the nice little place. Dont let the hole in the wall appearance fool you, the chicken and waffles was superbly awesome as the chicken strips were fresh and cooked perfectly and the waffle was light and delicious. My wife, being the sweetheart that she is, decided to be a cheap date and got the catfish and butterfly shrimp combo. The catfish was cooked very well and the butterfly shrimp was on point. And the cream of the crop was the large order of corn nuggets, they were a perfect addition to the beauty that was my cheap date.

First time eating from here and man is it delicious. Bought 10 tenders thinking they’d be small and that’s why they were only $ 10. Nope. I had to share with my friend. He got the chicken and waffles and said it was also good. I also had a small order of fried mac and cheese. Can’t believe it’s so cheap. My new goto place for fried chicken.

This place is awesome. Healthy it ain’t but when you’re in the mood for fried chicken, this is the place. I had the tenders with mashed potatoes and a two piece dark. It’s how fried chicken should taste. Greasy and good. Their shaved ice is really good, too.

I ordered the Chicken Tenders and Waffle. The waffle was light, airy and had a mixture of sweet spices however, the chicken lacked seasoning, but was cooked well. Everything was made to order which I appreciate, just because it’s hot and fresh! The spicy ranch was delicious, all 6 our us raved about it. Tried another friends shaved ice, it was pretty good. Tasted homemade and not overly sweet. This place is pretty popular, many to go orders. I feel that some orders get mixed up just because of the overwhelming number of them placed. I’m excited to go back and try some of the other items on the menu. The place is small with about 8 tables. The place was extremely warm and had no central air conditioning, made it a bit uncomfortable to dine in. Staff is friendly. I know how hard small family own restaurants are, but they seem to be doing very well.

The food really did live up to its name… Krispys. You get a lot for your money. One of the best chicken tenders I have tasted. The fried gizzards could use a little salt. But that’s just me eating too salty again.

Tasty– but not exciting. We ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. We also ordered the fried mac and cheese and corn balls. This chicken was good simply because there was no old oil after taste like other chicken joints. I however wasn’t impressed with any specific flavor or anything. prices were also not the lowest due to the fact that you has to purchase the sides separately. The inside of this place is very small as well. sketchy part of town. will i return? Possibly to try the seafood. Not much to say about this place.

Best fried chicken ever, not greasy at all. Hot wings are super spicy but if you like heat they are perfect for you. I love the fried okra, so yummy. Fried pork chops are so good as well. Everything here is . and super cheap. I got chicken and waffles, 3pc mixed chicken, fried okra, mashed potatoes and shrimp for 17 $ can’t go wrong for a fast yummy dinner or lunch or anything mmmm lol

I ordered chicken and waffles and chicken gizzards, and fried brownie bites. The chicken gizzards were chewy, but flavor was good . Waffles were amazing, fried chicken was hot and good. Owners were friendly, place was small but food came after 10 mins, very hot so made it good.

Although I’ve paid for $ 25 plates of fried chicken, its origin and ability to thrive is firmly situated in much less expensive sides of the economy. Chicken, seasoning, flour, oil, mouth — it’s not a hard recipe, though Wichita can’t seem to hold on to a quick-service fried chicken restaurant. You can find the pan-fried chicken of the historical Midwest at places like Stroud’s and Neighbors, but simply good cheap fried chicken is difficult to find. Perhaps it starts with the right location — buried deep amid the low-rent neighborhood of south Hillside, where you can find some of the city’s best Thai, Lao, and Vietnamese food, as easy a walk for the surrounding denizens as it is a quick drive for the workers of McConnell and Boeing. Everyone likes fried chicken, and the mishmash of blue and white collars waiting for their orders at Krispy’s is a testament to this. It helps that the prices are even cheaper than you might expect. The chicken is only a couple of bucks, with mounds of fried okra, sweet potato fries, fried macaroni and cheese, and jalapeño poppers added for only a few dollars more. That these accouterments are the generic frozen kind is inconsequential with how little they’re charging. As long as they’re fried well. Given how much of the menu uses the fryers, it’s taken little time for Krispy’s to get adept at producing a satisfyingly crispy piece of chicken that stays true to their name. Actually, crunchy might be a better descriptor — thick, craggy, crunchy pieces of chicken that satisfy the soul. The batter isn’t very seasoned, but there’s some on the chicken itself — particularly in the hot wings, which are non-traditionally coated in a Thai chile paste before getting battered and fried. While it would have been nice to see some traditional hot sauce or cayenne make its way into the batter too, the chile paste serves as a successful twist that certainly brings the heat. While Krispy’s is adept at the fryer, the waffle iron could still use some practice. The waffle was fluffy and plenty tasty even without syrup, but I like my waffles as crispy as I like my chicken. Regardless, the combination of the soft and slightly sweet waffle with the crispy and spicy chicken was a testament to why the combination works so well. You’re probably not going to feel very good about the amount of fried food you eat after your visit to Krispy’s but you’re definitely going to feel satisfied.
