I wanted to drive back there and kiss both those Hispanic ladies on the mouth! Best tacos I’ve ever had.

Awesome authentic Mexican food. I had an al pastor taco, barbacoa taco, asada taco, and a cow head taco. All were cooked fresh to order and were amazing. Only a few places to sit inside but outside seating is available. Definitely going to go again.

stopped here for lunch, and had the asado tacos. Meat was very tender, and very flavorful not your typical rubbery overcooked beef. the rest of the taco had plenty of lettuce, onions, cheese, cilantro(I opted out on the tomatoes and sour cream. One of the best tacos I have had in quite some time. Hot sauce was very unique and tasty, with some heat to it. Everything tasted so fresh and good that I am adding to my favorites list. Prices were fair considering the size of the taco. Cash only, and outside dining might not agree with everyone.

Love the tacos! Sooo good and so unlike anything I’ve ever had. It’s very small, though. Really only for take out orders. I get the carne asada and carnitas tacos!

For all the cute name and colorful building suggests a kitschy taco nirvana, Mr. Taco provides only a pretty good taco experience, which is to say it’s still a heck of a lot better than your Carlos O’Kelly’s of the world. They have other things, but obviously you’re going to want the taco with whatever variety of meat tickles your fancy. The small confines of the building means a bit of the magic goes away when you watch Mr. Taco take out refrigerated bags of the good stuff out of the fridge, stick it in the microwave to heat it up, and finish it on the grill. It still worked out pretty well for everything except the carnitas, which as I recall was a little dry. My main beef with Mr. Taco, though, is the way he dresses them, adding shredded cojita cheese and a too-healthy dollop of sour cream. When he asked me if I wanted it with everything, I didn’t know he meant like this, and I ended up scraping most of the sour cream off. Of course, you can always just tell Mr. Taco to leave it off, which is my recommendation. At least the salsas weren’t compromising — heavy and full of flavor from the whole dried chiles used to create it, though I probably should have gotten something to drink, as it was a hot day. Also, I had just gotten done with a particularly dehydrating run. Let’s just say it wasn’t a nice afternoon. But the tacos weren’t bad! You can certainly find slightly better fare a little further south, but in the largely forgotten area of 25th and Arkansas, there’s one man willing to stick it out for those who remain hungry and need a quick taco fix.

I eat here often and have never been disappointed unlike William«Thank God I’m a Country Boy» L. People, there is a huge selection of restaurants serving Mexican food. If you are uncomfortable because of the language barrier then you should choose another eating establishment. Although I do not speak spanish but do know the basics when it comes to food I could compare this to say a Vietnamese eating establishment when it comes to me being uncomfortable with food translations. Come on now, who agrees with me that not knowing the exact ingredients you are being served at an Asian restaurant are way scarier than at a hispanic establisment??? After all, Country Boy ended up with some steak instead of the cheap ground beef he was hoping for and a healthy soft corn tortilla as opposed to the deep fried artery blocker he was hoping for. «Life ain’t nuttin’ but a funny funny riddle!» Don’t get me wrong, I love fried food and I love ground beef tacos. But when I want them I don’t go to authentic establishments. I go to «On The Border», «Taco Bell», etc. American-friendly Mexican food is their specialty which leads me to believe that the little place WilI I Am L. stopped at was tourist targeted. Mr. Taco sells about 8 different kinds of tacos including lengua(cow tongue), not found at «Abuelo’s» or «Felipe’s». The beans and rice are delicious and they also offer tostados, burritos, tortas(that’s taco burger to you). Delicious homemade sauces, grilled jalapenos and onions as garnish, and sour cream at no extra charge. It’s one thing to be disappointed for bad food and get raked over the coals when the bill hits the table but the prices here are more than reasonable and the portion’s substantial! Open-minded people who appreciate good food are my friends!

Stopped here and have to say it reminds me of a taco shop I stopped at in Tijuana, Mexico. It is so authentic that the waitress couldn’t speak very good English. I ordered 2 hard shell ground beef taco, she said OK and when it cane it was on the small homemade soft tortilla and were carne asada instead of ground beef. The carne assada was very good but they were small. Have to say I was disappointed.
