Drag, I set out to find great record stores when I travel to new places. Unilocal helps me find awesome record stores. Ya gotta tell people you are only open on Friday and Saturday!

When I stopped in, it was a fruitless endeavor. They had some good titles in there, but there were cats living in there, it smelled bad, and no one ever helped me when I was ready to buy the records I picked up. So I put them back and left. I’m not sure I would even give them a second try. I’d rather buy online.

This shop is definitely the best in Wichita for vinyl. Within it’s tiny walls sits a wide variety of genres, all well organized and represented. Since they don’t really have to room for a whole lot of records, a browse through their«New Arrivals» section is probably the most crucial. That’s where you can find the best stuff. The pricing at Notes & Noises is a bit more reasonable than some other places around as well. They are guilty of some ridiculous overpricing like a copy of «Paranoid» for $ 30 or so, but that is usually balanced out by some great deals. Not the best record store I’ve ever been to, but the New Arrivals will always keep me coming back in search of that great deal. There is also a shop kitty that will beg your attention while you’re there, which is always entertaining in my book.
