If I had read the reviews here before booking, I probably would have passed. Fortunately, I didn’t. I found the Scotsman in to be a nice, basic, SUPER clean place to spend the night while here for a concert. The room is small and the bathroom is tiny but there were plenty of fluffy towels, a nice microwave and a mini fridge. Also a table and two chairs, a 3 drawer nightstand/dresser, a long desk with a third chair, open closet space, suitcase stand and a nice large TV. first thing I always do is check for bed bugs. The mattress and box spring were both encased at least once, I think the box spring had two. Again, super clean! The mattress wasn’t top of the line but it was comfortable enough. The carpet is very clean as well and looks like it might be fairly new. This hotel is by the airport and the freeway so if that noise bothers you, you might not be comfortable here. I slept like a baby. I heard very little noise from the hallway and none from the rooms next door or above. I wasn’t sure about the place when first walking in, the design reminded me of a hostel or an old seedy motel(which it may have been at one time) but again, everything looked and SMELLED clean and fresh and both the young men I encountered at the front desk were very sweet. Thanks for the comfortable, clean place to stay!

Needed a quick easy place to bed down for a few hours before getting back on the road heading home. Made the mistake of not doing a couple minutes of research before reserving a room at the Scotsman Inn by the Wichita airport. 2.5 stars on Expedia should represent an okay spot to lay your head down for a few hours… or so you would think. Walking into the«lobby» alone is almost like a trust fall. The room is encased in bulletproof glass, and it smells like a smokers’ club meets there daily and hosts national conventions weekly… and I’m not talking the casual smoker types; I’m talking AA, replace one addiction with another, chain-smoking, laryngectomy stoma, deathbed smokers. Mind you, my grandparents and mother smoked, and I’ll have one occasionally after a few drinks. So, this isn’t snobbery. This was an assault! Amazingly, I was too exhausted to let this run me off. After the wormy little clerk argued with me about my reservation on Expedia, he finally honored the information I provided on the screen of my phone. It’s hard to imagine lots of people show up at 3am on a Monday with forged electronic Expedia and Paypal documents in order to save $ 4 off a room price, but that’s how he acted. Flash forward to the room and the trip down the dank, smelly prison hallway: As soon as I opened the door to the«non-smoking» room, my nostrils and sinuses were greeted by a slightly distilled and masked version of the same lovely stench that filled the nicotine plagued welcome-wagon out front. Warm, wet, sticky air filled the dungeonesque room on a night when it was 55° outside. The mattress on the bed had a dip in the middle the size and shape of a young, overweight mule, and the bathroom was a tiny sink/shower/toilet hybrid of the like you might share with 11 others in a 9-euro per night hostel in the Irish countryside. Fun if there are six bunk beds in the room and that’s what you expected, but if you’re looking only for sleep and safety… not so much. I got my refund faster than you can say, «Run from the smell, hurdle the hobos, and dodge the bullets!» The Scotsman Inn is a dirty, brown hellhole. Hopefully, you haven’t made the same mistake I have and wasted 20 minutes of valuable sleep time moving to a different roadside motel in Wichita at 3:30 in the morning. If you’re reading this first, you surely won’t. Press on. Hell, sleep in your car, or pay $ 5-$ 10 less to stay ANYWHEREELSE!

This motel is not so bad compared to motel 6 where I stayed before for 2 weeks there was unstoppable drama, drugs and crime. Scottsman is quiet, safe, and inclosed buliding. My room was 1st floor the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, my room had a flat screen t.v. has microwave and fridge for the price is a good deal. I just think the should tuen the air on in the hallway. A plus is its close to Wal-Mart, the movies, restaurants.

I stayed there about 12 years ago and the suite was great, really huge, was a perfect place for after parties. Now… All I can say is… DONOTSTAYHERE. Unless of course, you too are a wino who just pan-handled the 39.00 to stay at this«wonderful» establishment. Yuk!

At first, this«hotel» seemed ideal. It was cheap. Close to everything. And didn’t look so bad… From a distance. So my partner and I decided to make a room restoration. When we arrived I was mildly disturbed by the features of the facility. When we entered we realized the ambience of the establishment was horrid and flat out creepy. The dim lit hallways were a major turn off and the front desk attendent had an attitude of a 15 year old girl going through puberity and the over all nasty-ness of a 60 year old pedophile. My heart goes out to anyone that has to stay at the poorly decorated and very disturbing«Scotsman inn»
