The lawn looks fantastic. I have met with the specialist once when he came back to reapply and he was very friendly and accommodating. The regularly scheduled option ensures that we keep on top of the maintenance and I am very pleased with the improvement we’ve seen this year.

Seems like billing is a major downfall of their service. I called to sign up for only routine weed treatments, on auto pay, without a discount incentive because it’s more convenient… or so I thought it would be. Of course upon sign up, the rep attempts to up sell me to receive grub treatment, which I declined. I wasn’t even told how much the grub treatment would be – because I knew we didn’t need it. The first visit, the spraying happened along with a surprise grub treatment! I logged onto my bank account to see they also made an unauthorized charge which later turned out to be for the grub service which I explicitly asked NOT to have done. I ended up having to make another call to get the money credited back and the agent had the audacity to ask me to «split the cost of the service» to be fair to TrueGreen. Are you kidding me?! So, after a few weeks I saw a couple small patches die off, but noticed we still had crab grass(the only weeds have, which is why we started) growing abundantly on one side of our driveway. The first treatment was ineffective for this particular area; and I made another call(call 3, in case you’re keeping track) to have them come out to retreat. I was told the first time I called and the 3rd time I called there was no charge for the retreat. Of course, low and behold, I see they charged me $ 53.70 for the retreat and when I called back Rep #33657 Cierra said she would credit the fee for the retreat. When I also mentioned that I wasn’t happy with their service so far and wanted to cancel all future treatments, she told me I was no longer eligible for the credit and would cancel my account. The conversation went from helpful to confrontational very quickly. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told they have no manager and their supervisor was out for the next week. RIGHT. Because all places of employment just let the inmates run the prison! This company is a sham and I would avoid them at all costs.

My experience was similar to previous review by Doug P. Encountered unauthorized services and billings after prepaying for one season. I believe this company’s billing practices are dubious and attempts to ensnare you with unauthorized services. I would NOT recommend using Trugreen Wichita under any circumstances. The local franchise may be an exception from the National company.

We are a satisfied customer of Trugreen. We used them for weed control and aeration on our one year old sod at our new home last year. We have been completely satisfied with their service, and when we were inaccurately charged for a grub service we did not order it was promptly corrected. We were set up on direct payment with them and have been satisfied to the point of renewing with them for another season.

Last year we signed up with Trugreen for lawn care and tree/shrub service. We paid in advance for the years service to get a 10% discount. We also paid to have the lawn aeriated and overseeded. Overall the lawn looked decent and we had reasonable week control. I can’t say that the tree/shrub service made really made any improvement. The aeriation/overseeding was a disaster in that they destroyed a spash guard with their machine(never said a word or apologized, just left the shattered concrete pad in their wake). They also failed to mention the immense amount of watering required for the aeriation to be successful. In the end it was money wasted for us. The big issue we had was billing. Despite pre-paying for the service, I would occasionally get a bill and would have to call to remind them we had paid in advance. Then at the end of the year, I called to renew our service and was told we had a balance of $ 61. They couldn’t explain what the charge was for and had paid no record of us paying in advance. That was the final straw. I paid the disputed balance and canceled their service. Yes the yard looked fine but it wasn’t any better than what I can do myself. The big issue is I could no longer trust that we were being billed appropriately. When I feel that a business can’t keep their books or payments straight I won’t continue to use them. In the end, it appears Trugreen got their 10% discount back by billing me for some unnamed service. In the end they lost a potential repeat customer.
