Urgent Care of Wilbraham

2 visits in 2 months — one for myself and another for a family member. Great staff. The doctors were super. Both visits were followed up on about a week later. Much easier than the emergency room. Good care. Would definitely go back.

When I hurt my back last month, I went to the Urgent Care facility in Chicopee. It was a terrible place (under new management as of 7÷15÷15), and I would give it minus 5 stars if possible. When my injury reocurred I spent the morning calling osteopathic doctors only to find that they were scheduling two months out. The website for the Wilbraham Urgent Care says that they are here for when you can’t get in to see your doctor so I decided to try them, particularly when I saw that they have 3 osteopathic doctors working there. I was very favorably impressed by the clean, attractive office and the staff is just top-​notch. They appear to be medical professionals and were very welcoming, warm and kind.
Sadly, Dr. Rock was rude and insulting. I explained that I wanted to see an osteopathic doctor and had made an appointment for October. He launched into comments about prescriptions I’d taken including valium my dentist prescribed before a procedure and the 6 pills prescribed to me a few weeks ago at the Chicopee Urgent Care. I told him *I did not want a prescription* but he continued, referring to a print-​out of every medication I have taken. He informed me that I should have gone to see my primary care physician and that I should not have my different doctors prescribing medications (all filled at the same pharmacy BTW). He didn’t mention whether I should still see the osteopathic doctor. In fact, he didn’t even say goodbye. After being up all night in pain, this was a very unpleasant experience. I cried all the way home.
I would still recommend this center (when another doctor is on duty). It appears to be very well managed and the wait was (just barely) acceptable. A doctor can have a bad day and treat patients indifferently but Dr. Rock appeared angry that I came in at all.

Place was awesome! I have been here a few times. Kristi the nurse assstant and Dr. Freniere are wonderful with kids.

I brought my husband in on Sunday morning 6÷29÷14 for what turned out to be viral pharyngitis (very painful).
* The office environment was very nice, comfortable, and inviting (a great improvement over many of the other urgent care offices).
* The office staff was friendly and caring.
* Dr. Jackel was very personable, detailed, and efficient.
* My husband received a follow-​up call from the office to see how he was feeling — great practice and very service oriented.
