The coffee is the best on the island. Bagels are fresh and also very good they offer many different varieties of bagels as well also very accommodating staff.

Worst service ever! Waited an hour for two bagel sandwiches and a cup of coffee… really?! If you’re going to run a coffee shop/bagel store at the shore, you better get more staff who works quickly on the weekends… people come down the shore to go to the beach, not wait an hour for a bagel!!! Done with this place… you’re better off going to wawa for much better coffee and a sizzli!

Best bagels and great coffee. Be patient if you have to wait! It’s worth it. I would be concerned if a place wasn’t crowded …

Great little coffee shop. No hustle & bustle. The coffee was delicious, as was the French toast muffin. Friendly, prompt service. Reasonably priced. Visited on vacation. Definitely a nice find.

Was here for turkey on a everything bagel. A staple at every bagel place in the USA, except for this one. No turkey. So I asked for lox instead. I was adamant I didn’t want cream cheese, just lox. When I got home to discover a bagel covered in cream cheese and one slice of lox, I was very disappointed. Even more disappointed when the lox tasted hard and like it sat out for a while. Epic fail at a place I used to visit regularly. Skip it and make the trip to the Rio Grande location.

Very friendly staff and very clean. They have a nice seating area. They have good coffee and bagels… one draw back is the line moves slow… otherwise a good stop for you am coffee.

Eat here, it’s good for your soul. Give thanks, say ‘good bye.’ Veggie Rio Wrap is my favorite and is superb, as is the staff’s consistent and enjoyable countenance.

Very expensive for what you get and long wait times. Bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel and a coffee… I remember ordering last year and waiting for 20 min… and it costing well over $ 5…maybe almost $ 10. I left annoyed and won’t go back.

Grabbed six bagels for my family. Mixed reviews. Everyone said the bagels were very doughy. Some folks like this in a bagel some don’t. Overall I personally felt it was average. Nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about. The kids said the bagels were weird. Gf said her bagel seemed stale. Also complaints that the toasted bagels weren’t toasted enough. I give points for a very welcoming, casual atmosphere inside and I like the Avalon blend coffee.

This is as good as it gets in wildwood for coffee shops. For a city this would probably be a 3 star place in my book but in wildwood with no other options this is a 4 star coffee shop. There is free wifi, a good amount of comfortable room, lots of plugs for computers and charging, good music playing. They actually have a bunch of different coffees to choose from, including for the decaf drinker which is sometimes rare. I just spoke to the owner and he said he plans to stay open year round which is great too. The coffee shop just took on new ownership, along with that came a newly remodeled shop and it is SOMUCH nicer. The remodel took them out of the 70’s and brought them into this century. They have all your basic bagel sandwiches and spreads, although bagels are just mediocre. The staff is real nice, but they seem a little unprofessional like people who just needed a job or are part of the family business. I like a staff that is passionate about coffee but what do you expect for Wildwood. Avalon only stays open until 2pm, which is a bummer for someone like me that basically works in coffee shops. Another bummer is they don’t have ceramic mugs if you are staying for awhile. I prefer a ceramic mug if I am staying a few hours and they are environmentally friendly. I wonder too if not having ceramic mugs is a miss opportunity for them in such a tourist town, I bet they could sell personalized mugs pretty easy. Over all unless you want to drive to the always crowed Starbucks in Rio Grande this is your place, it has all you need for sure make a stop!

Coffee is solid, bagels are… meh. Might be closer to three stars, but since it is basically the only coffee place to go in the area, it can have four. Avalon has been recently remodeled and is probably one of the newest/cleanest places in Wildwood. It doesn’t have very much character, but when you need a coffee shop environment to meet a friend, read a book, etc., it gets the job done. Wifi available, takes credit cards. Plenty of seating. **Make sure you check out the Amish market next door afterward for a donut to go with your coffee!**

This place used to be good. There are new owners now. The coffee is still good but the selection of bagels seems to have lessened. I bought a sausage egg and cheese sandwich and the sausage was much smaller than they used to be. The bagel actually broke in half before I ate it. It was either stale, overcomes, or both. I’m pretty sad to lose my favorite coffee shop.

I give 3 stars today because I was contacted my email by new owners-Yes! So happy this place has new owners that care enough about their products and customers. Yes, they contacted me to ask that I return and give THEM a second chance, which I most certainly will do. I LOVE it that they care this much after so long. After I revisit, I will update this post and hopefully, my rating. Now THIS is a place I would want to do be business with ! Thanks.

Great coffee shop, good bagels, nice helpers. Yes, like most of the reviews here, they forget the order and give you something else. We got only cream-cheese on bagel and not the veg-cream –cheese which we ordered, may be because I have an accent. You buy coffee and are allowed to select any cup size, same price. Counter lady gave us food to eat there and did not ask payment in advance. Good shop

I really wish this place was better because it has the potential as its in a great location. Unfortunately, every time I visit the customer service is very poor. This morning I went in for two breakfast sandwiches, that I tried calling in to make before hand but was disconnected. I drove over and just as expected, the woman behind the counter looked completely overwhelmed as she was making some of the easy food orders, coffee and ringing customers at the same time. I ordered my two sandwiches that were made by a man in the kitchen along with an iced coffee and orange juice. At first she gave me another customers coffee by mistake but soon realized and made mine quickly. The sandwiches were brought out a short wait after, which I took home to eat. When I got home, I realized I was never given the orange juice I ordered but paid for, however didn’t bother calling since I never received a receipt. The sandwiches were alright, nothing greater than what I could have made at home. Other times I have visited later in the afternoon, which I think they close around 2, but are always cleaning up around 12. They seem to have a great selection of bagels and coffee, it’s just not very organized.

THis place needs a better system in the morninngs. I held back for awhile but now I am just annoyed. I went in there on Saturday morning and ordered 5 bagles all toasted with cream cheese and 3 iced coffees. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I finally got my order. Only 4 bagels were in there. We had to open up each one to find out which one we were missing. Also, they didnt have our iced coffees ready. It took the girl about 3 more minutes to make them. Finally when we got home we realized they didn’t toast any of the bagels!!! That is ridiculous! THey have like 5 people working back there and they just can’t seem to get it right. If things don’t change, I will be forced to go down a few more blocks and just get my breakfast from WAWA.

I’m not really sure how it took me so long to discover Avalon Coffee. This morning I had a great iced coffee and an egg and cheese on an everything bagel(which included salt! yay! and 2 fried eggs! yay! yay!). I also won $ 1 on the scratch-off lottery ticket we purchased there… WINNING!
