Don’s Deli

Great hoagies, Decent prices. The staff seem friendly enough, and the wait is never very long. A great place to stop and pick up lunch.

Don’s is the only true neighborhood deli for miles. It’s where you go when an airy, bread-​heavy sandwich won’t do. You need more. You need a hoagie and you need it fast.
Don’s was previously located on West End Road, just a few blocks away. This new location is a tremendous upgrade from that spot. Aside from the extra space, there’s a dining room and a lot more parking.
We stopped in the other day for our first visit to the new spot, and it was great to see the menu hadn’t changed. And this is just personal preference, but another reason to order from Don’s over a national chain is Don’s carries Middleswarth potato chips — these are the ideal chips to accompany a sammy because these chips don’t overwhelm the sammy, they complement it. It’s a much better eat than Sun Chips, for example.
There’s also an ample selection of beverages and of course, lottery tickets, and no shortage of people who run in, order, and get out. There’s no standing around debating over if you want your order toasted or flatbread or any of that nonsense. Lunch just isn’t supposed to be that complicated.
