Very slow service and burned food. I had the teriyaki chicken with rice and it was crunchy. My coworker ordered a salad with medium rare beef that was well done and flavorless and the lettuce was brown. Sorry, won’t be back here anytime soon.

Meh. Just stopped for a few beers and a appetizer at the bar. Service very friendly and good. Cheese fries OK, Beer selection on draft not terrible but pricey. Not much else in this town.

Great food friendly service and good looking staff. I had the strip steak and it was pretty darn good. The house beer was a very tasty lager. Food came out quick and hot. The prices are extremely reasonable. When in Wilkesboro I’m eating here again! I guess the ribeye steak is to die for so I’ll try that next time.

I hope the management appreciates the hotel next door. I don’t see how anyone would ewer eat here twice Its like a spider using the hotel as a web. I have to agree with many of the other negative comments from other reviews. The steak on the steakhouse salad had to be mystery meat unless the farmer raised the cow eating strictly cardboard. The remaining ingredients appeared fresh but tasted like the were stored in a freezer with various other products all day. I also noticed the temperature in restaurant was quote chilly.

Steak was not real meat. You can’t call yourself a steakhouse and serve meat that was marinated in who knows what solution. I am literally eating a bag of Doritos to mask the flavor that keeps repeating

We eat here every time we are in town. Was surprised reading the other reviews, we haven’t had a problem with service. Food is consistent and good. I usually get the ribs.

Stopped as we passed through Wilkesboro. No wait time for a Saturday evening. Service was good. Steaks and other food items were as we expected for a chain restaurant. My ONLY complaint is that I had to wear my coat during the entire meal because the restaurant was FREEZING!!! It felt as if someone turned on the air and forgot to turn it off. Most all the other diners were also wearing their coats. Some even had their toboggans on.

I went here quite a few time when i lived in Wilkes i loved their food and never had any issues with it. They’re customer service on the other hand was almost always horrible. No matter how many times we went or how many different servers they always were NOT on their customer service skills.

Occasionally I go here because its close to my job, and I generally regret it. The food is decent, but the service is generally sub-par. Never go here if you are in a hurry or on a lunch break or you’ll be late getting back to the office.

TERRIBLE. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My husband, friend, and I visited this place for lunch. We had an hour to eat and get back to our office(about 5 minutes away), and the parking lot was virtually empty, so we figured we’d have enough time. Well, we were greeted right away, but that was about it. Despite there being very few customers in the dining room at the same time as us, our waiter took 5 minutes to bring us our drinks, and 20 minutes to bring my friend his side salad. We sat for a total of 45 minutes and still saw no entrees(not even in a to-go box like we requested after we had been waiting for 30 minutes). By this time, there is no way we would have had time to eat and get back to the office in time, so we left. We know the wait wasn’t the waiter’s fault, but he could have at least apologized and we received nothing of the sort. It is important to note that I am 5 months pregnant, and my lunch was pushed to a later time than usual that day due to a temporary change in duties. As it was, we had to rush back to our office and get me something from our cafeteria to quickly scarf down while I worked after my lunch break ended. Sadly, every one of my work friends that I have told this story to have stated they have had the same experience despite there being very few customers in the restaurant at any given time. We will NOT be back again.

I’ve been there a few times and guess I’d rate this place average. The food is nothing to write home about but okay. Service was good.

I have eaten here several times since my hotel is within walking distance. I have not experienced bad service although the wait can be a little long. They have a lot to choose from so if you are willing to spend a little more and get steak you can or just get a burger. I tried the catfish and it was excellent! You can also request that they not cook with butter and make the meal healthier. The sides are good southern dishes made with lots of butter and bacon so if you want to watch the calories you better pay attention!

You’d be better off going across the street and eating at Wendy’s then wasting your time and money eating here. The food here is disgusting, absolutely horrid. There are peanut shells all over the floor that drenched in the smell of cigarettes. There is no atmosphere and service is mediocre at best.

My parent’s have been here a couple of times since moving to NC and so though it was a good option for us to go to on our way to see a play in Wilkesboro. Zero line. We were seated right away. Place has a VERY rustic feel with well worn wooden booths. They have a good dinner specials(all $ 10) menu in addition to their regular menu offerings. No one was ridiculously hungry — my parents opted for items from the specials menu and I from the regular menu.(There is also a $ 5 lunch specials menu). I had the fish & chips(substituting a baked potato for fries) — Fish was ok. 4 – 5 small to medium pieces. Batter was good and did not get very greasy. But clearly these were filets that had been halved. If you were eating the fat end — it was ok, cod was nicely cooked and tender. But if you got the thinner end of the filet — the fish was very over cooked and tough. Not the best fish I’ve had but ok. My bigger compliant — margarine arrived to top my baked potato and our complimentary bread(Mmmmmmmmmm the bread is very good). This must be a regional thing as my parents say they have experienced it several places they have been in the area. I don’t like a lot on my baked potato but I do like REAL things — LIKEBUTTER.(big sigh) Dad had the Center Cut Sirloin Steak(w/baked potato) — as it was the 2nd time in a row he had ordered it he likes it — and I’m sure will get again. Mom had the Chicken Scampi with Pasta — Scampi is usually served with shrimp and she doesn’t really like that — so this was something new for her to try and she enjoyed her dish as well. We all had a good time nibbling on the bucket of shell-on peanuts on our table and our waitress was very nice and attentive. Overall, for other options in the immediate area — I’d say I’d probably go again, but would perhaps try something other than the fish and chips.
