Duval Heating Air Conditioning and Plumbing

This company is very punctual and will show up whenever they say that they are going to. I use American Home Shield, and this is a company that they have chosen to do my AC repairs with. The first encounter was pleasant, as it seemed to be a very easy fix. The secont time however, has been a nightmare. I processed a claim to have them come out to my home because my AC unit stopped working on 7÷13÷2013. They came out, and told me that it was a part that needed to be ordered, and that they will call me back when they receive it in 3 – 5 business days. The time went by, and i received no call. I called back to see what the status was, and they said that the piece needed to be fabricated and would be on «back-​order». They told me that I would receive the part between Aug 5 – 7 and they would call me when the part came in to set up the install date. At this point, it has been almost a month since I have had AC in my house, and I was very upset. I waited until Aug 8^th for a call, and got none. I then placed a call to them, only to be told that they were still waiting on the part and that they would call me back. I became impatient on Aug 12 when I haven’t heard anything, so I called back and the lady that I spoke to was very apologetic and said that the part would definitely be here by the next day (Aug 13) and she even set up the appointment for today (Aug 14) to install the part. I receive a call today from Duval at 8:39 this morning to be informed that the fabricated piece that was ordered was the wrong part. At this point, I lost it and was astonished at the fact that it could be another month before I have AC in my house again. I asked what went wrong and she had no explanation, but told me that they would call me back with an estimated wait time on the part. This is completely unacceptable and I would never recommend this company to someone who is looking for a professional in the HVAC industry. It could be the manufacturer to blame for the wrong part, but the communication from the company was unacceptable as well. I am still left with no AC during the hottest times of the year, and waiting around on people that do not care about the customers isn’t someone I would ever give my hard-​earned money to. The next time I have to process a warranty claim, it will not be with Duval Heating and Air.

My apartment heater was on the fritz so I call American Homeshield and they hooked me up with this company. I was given the range that they would come out between 12 – 5, a bit aggravating to be available for that span of time for a busy person, but I seriously needed my heater to be working in the middle of a snowstorm. The guy ended up calling when he was on the way and he got to my place when he said he would. Turns out some battery like thing had exploded and he quickly replaced it. My heater is up and running to keep me warm! So glad for the quick repair and friendly service that I would recommend using these guys again!
