In from out of town and came for a quick bite to eat for lunch. Service was great and food was fantastic. My table got the Reuben sandwich, crab cake burger, and meatloaf sandwich. I tried a bite of all of them and they were all so delicious. Great atmosphere in a really cute plaza. Highly recommend.

I am hoping that they were just having an off night when we went, but unfortunately it was so horrible that I will never be back to find out. We went on Friday evening around 6pm, expecting a bunch of people and a wait. we were one of three tables full during typical rush hour dinner time. Our waitress was extremely nice but was not knowledgeable about any of the menu or drinks. My burger was pretty good, but my one friend ordered a chicken quesadilla and it had gross grey chicken inside. My other friend ordered the blackened veggie wrap, and rather than blackened veggies, they were completely burnt. A couple started to walk in during our meal and stopped and turned around(I’m assuming they were going to the wrong place) and the host up front started saying(very loudly) «oh whatever don’t come in then you crazy people!» At this point, we all were very uncomfortable or hungry due to two of the four of us not being able to finish our meals, and we quickly paid and left. I would not recommend anyone to go there, which disappoints me because I was very excited to try this place out while visiting Williamsburg.

I liked the corner pocket. Casual atmosphere with good food. I chose to have the pesto but subbed out the edamame for blackened chicken– it was delicious. My boyfriend had the Chesapeake bay burger(burger with crab meat on top) and really loved it. The dessert may have been the best part. Definitely get the ice cream pie; it has an Oreo crust! This place seems like a fun night out with friends as it doubles as a pool hall and has a good beer selection.

Not your average billiards pub. Yes they have a good complement of tables and a bar, but the food selection and preparation is more like a 4 star restaurant. Steaks, Grilled Fish, Oysters, Burgers, Jambalaya, Chicken Alfredo, etc. Jeremy, our Waiter, was very attentive and helpful. Happy Hour & several locations micro brewery beers and wines to choose from. Mustang USMC Retired

We stopped in here for lunch before heading home from vacation. The food and atmosphere were awesome! We’ll definitely be back.

This place is what you would get if you combined a pool hall and a restaurant. There is a small bar and single TV where the pool hall meets the restaurant, but this is not a great option for having a drink and watching sports. There are several TVs by the pool tables, however. I went for lunch with some friends. I got the Chicken Club Sandwich(~$ 10 I think) and was surprised by how tasty it was. The chicken, avocado, and bread were all quality. I also appreciate that they served sandwiches with waffle fries. The service was very attentive. We had a few conversations with our very exuberant and talkative waiter which was nice, if not a bit different. I recommend The Corner Pocket for the delicious food, but not the bar atmosphere.

In search of a place to grub and watch the UVA basketball game, my friends and I came here for lunch. It’s not so much a sport bar, but a pool hall slash restaurant. There was a single big tv at the bar so we posted up in front of it and the bartender accommodated our request to change it to the right channel. We enjoying chatting with him about a range of interesting topics from Donald Trump to the Super Bowl. The food here was just as awesome as the service. I went halfsies with my buddy and had the Blackened Shaved Steak and Chicken Club sandwich. Both were very good sandwiches that were fairly priced. The bread quality, in particular, was on point. Definitely check this place out if you’re looking to play pool and/or eat some great food.

Although it’s a pool hall, the food and menu is certainly a rung above«pub food». Management seems to work at providing decent customer service but it can be spotty depending on customer volume.

My husband and I come here a lot to play on their pool tables. I love how nice the staff is, how clean the bathrooms and facility are, and the food is not bad. The only reason I’m not giving this five stars is because I feel their food is really overpriced.

I gave two stars only because the food is good. But if you’d like to see how poor customer service can ruin a restaurant this is a case study. I ate here twice and both times felt like I was burdening the restaurant by asking for a seat. Typical service can be summed up with this story. I sat with an empty beer glass and plates to be cleared in plain view(I was so amazed at the poor service that I decided to conduct a little test) while six different staff, including a manager, walked by me over a 20 minute period. Not one of them asked if I wanted another beer or needed the plates cleared or needed anything else. I paid my bill, no tip, and left. That was a few years ago and I’ve never gone back.

my boyfriend & I are locals, decided to go here for date night. It was fun, that’s why it’s getting 2 stars and not 1, however it was super expensive unnecessarily(we felt) We each ordered 2 burgers & played a few games of pool. We paid over $ 80. We didn’t get drinks either. What the fuck? It was fun but definitely not worth the price. We can play pool somewhere else

I love this place. The menu is always interesting with creative daily specials as well as standard bar fare, except here it’s a little bit more interesting and innovative than your run of the mill bar and grill. The staff is friendly and attentive. Beer selection is terrific and believe it or not, some of the best desserts I’ve had in Williamsburg have come from the kitchen here. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. It works both for a date night and a hangout night with your friends. If you’re lucky, you will be there on a night when there’s music on the patio. Lynn always seems to bring in great musicians. It is one of Williamsburg’s bright lights.

Lynn has been a Williamsburg restaurant favorite since we moved here in 1999. She continues to adapt new menus and atmosphere. The restaurant can be a pool hall, sports bar, good for a group night out, date night or convenient spot for quick work day lunch. The menu is very flexible and always fits my mood. Her beer selection is fantastic and she always brings in the newest styles and local brews. You van go here everyday of the week and feel like it’s your first time. The staff is great and Jessica at the helm of the kitchen is a treasure for sure!

Needed a place to get a beer and some local flavor while killing time on vacation from California. Bartender(Mathew) is really friendly and a good resource on local brews. Enjoyed the Reuben rolls which are one of a kind. In the end — we found the right place!

The Corner Pocket is a really great-looking place, but I was really disappointed in the atmosphere on what should have been a great night in a sports bar. My visit was on the night of the Virginia Tech-Ohio State game on Labor Day. It was a big game for the area’s big college athletics squad on a holiday against one of the largest fanbases in the country. I came prepared for a large crowd. We showed up thirty minutes before game time, and the place was virtually empty. There were only two other parties in the place. One lady at the bar, and an older couple in a booth. We grabbed a high-top where we could see the TV on which the pre-game show was playing. There was no sound on the TV, and there was some really bad techno-rock music playing. Well, no one ever showed up. There were eventually a group of about four women at the bar. A few other couples came and went, but we were clearly the only ones there for the game. They never put the sound for the game on – techno-rock ruled the night — and after dinner we left rather than stay for the rest of the game. We went home and watched it on TV instead. The food itself was pretty good. It was also a little pricey. An appetizer, an entrée, a couple of iced teas, and two desserts, which we indulged in based on the recommendation of the waitress, were all nice but the bill surprised us both. The service was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the facility was very nice. I couldn’t understand why it was empty.

The best grilled cheese! Loved the ambiance. Very clean, laid back, awesome staff. We also got the jambalaya and beer brisket which was amazing. Great food and great prices.

As a culinary genius, my standards are very high. This place was not up to snuff. Took about an hour to get our food, the table wine was unimpressive and the appetizers were no better than you can get at the Leafe or College Delly. My food came out cold, generally unimpressed.

A great place for friends, food, service and playing pool as long as you overlook the neglect and disrepair of their tables.

I went after work last night with some friends to grab a drink, but ended up ordering food for myself as well. The server was slow to get to us, but it WAS Saturday night and the place was swamped, most notably by a middle-aged crowd who was really whooping it up. He was exceptionally efficient and friendly. We got a pitcher of Devil’s Backbone IPA to share between three people, and I ordered the black bean burger. I was very impressed with their beer list, and there are a wealth of bottled craft beers I’m itching to try! I did find the pitcher to be massively overpriced compared to other local haunts. There appeared to be several pool tables open despite the healthy crowd. Clientele was loud as stated, but not causing any problems. I feel that the bean burger was a little pricey for the portion, and I wish the patty had had more seasoning, or I probably would have gone 5 stars. The english muffin it was served on was excellent, and they were generous with the avocado. I’ll likely revisit to try more of the varied menu and update my review accordingly. I’m also looking forward to digging into the beer list. Overall, I think Corner Pocket is worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for a change of pace from the downtown campus crowd on your next night out.
